My Norton 2008 expired and it's currently on strike until I renew. WTF? I thought my subscription was towards the virus definitions and not actual program usage. So right now, I a currently unprotected.
Anyways, for other programs such as BitDefender, NOD32, etc, do they stop working upon...
I've officially been on Vista 64 for a few days now. One day I noticed that my bottom right network icon was "X" out. I clicked on my network via Control Panel and there it would lag to blank. I still have internet though but I do need the network to view the shared folders from other pc's...
I was happily running my Q6600 [email protected] with XP for about 9 months now. I just installed Vista 64-bit and it says I'm at 2.4 yet my post (pressing TAB during start up) says 3.0GHz.

2GB Corsair RAM (two sticks)
Gigabyte P35C-DS3R
I'm planning on upgrading to Vista 64. My PC already uses at most 1.8GB when working with photoshop and lightroom on XP. I want to add a series of 4GB (2x2)Corsair RAM for a total of 6GB.
I remember from years ago that...
I'm thinking about installing 64-bit on a Toshiba laptop--1.6ghz, but I don't want it to feel like I'm running a Celeron with Win 98. If I get the ok from you guys, I'll order 4gb of ram too.
Brand new, SEALED. It's resting by the wall mocking me. I told it stop but it wouldn't so it's up for sale. Funds go towards more meds. Thanks.
$68 shipped.
USA buyers only!
Ok done. Made it into a 2-pin. I think my Power LED just doesn't work something. Now that I recall, I don't even know what color the light is. I have 3 of the same LianLi. The newer one has a Blue power LED but I dont' recall that being in my other two.
I'm fine now, I was more...
I re-used two Lian Li's from my 2 year old AMD systems. I now run a GIGABYTE P35C-DS3R (Intel). I don't have any LEDs. How do I enable them? My PCs look too sinister without lights.
I am running XP. I have several Kingwin KF-91-BK 's. On my old AMD system, I was able to hot swap. I recently upgraded two of my PC's with gigabyte mobos, and now, I can no longer hot swap.
I have 3 hard drives operating always and occasionally 4 when accessing older data. I am using...
Thanks fellas!
I put my wife's drive into my pc (we use rackmounts). It's actually a Seagate 500GB. I tried to transfer files and it IS faster than her PC but it's slower than my 320GB.
I did a test on my machine. I moved 5GB up one folder. It took about 30 seconds. A progress bar appears. Then I moved it back. It took about 8 seconds. That's almost instantaneous.
With the wife's computer, I don't think a progress appears and the transfer takes forever.
Ok, so moving from folders from within a drive is slow compared to moving a folder to another drive. Got that.
I transfered 3GB from my machine and it's instantaneous, while the wife's machine, like I said, took 10 minutes!??
I built a new workstation for the wife a couple weeks ago.
D: 300GB Seagate SATA
E: 300GB Seagate SATA
I dragged a folder from within the same drive. For example, "D:\Folder-1\Folder-2" to the "D:." Visually, it appears that's it's all done but I hear the hard drive accessing for...
Generally speaking, to ensure the lowest possible price, you need to buy all the major parts at once (cpu, mobo, ram, video, etc). The other components like dvd-rw and sound card typically have a steady price.

-ECS NFORCE4-A939 mobo
-2GB Corsair DDR 400 RAM
-Radeon X550 video card

Need a power supply? Add $20 for Rosewill 450w.
I was looking at the price history on nextag and it shows a 3 month trend for a price drop. If the trend continues then there should be a price drop soon, maybe to coincide with that new QX. I don't have experience in following intel prices but is there a price drop during this time of the...

I ran prime95 over night. Two tests for 2 hours each, and other test over night. No crashes. I'm going to transplant the gear into my current box.

I liked the quality cases of Antec and the other OEMs but they were so damn heavy. I tried using cheapy cases but the quality is so terrible that they couldn't even handle the trauma of shipping. I went Lian Li because the PC-A16 had 6 expansion slots (I needed 5). Nice case.
