Im considering making the iOS/Android switch from an iPhone 4 to the S5. Are there any Mac users here that can comment on how they make do without iCloud syncing for music, notes, etc?
I attached both fans to the motherboard. Depends on your motherboard if you can control 3-pin fans. I can't seem to do it with my Gigabyte P-35-DS3R.
The LED dims as the fan voltage decreases, but not by much when within the fans voltage range.
Newegg deactivated this product. Why do you think they would do that?
Here's some cell phone pics of my 7FNWX. Ignore that red LED strip wire in front of the PSU, just temporary.
Blue LEDs
White LEDs - again, please ignore red wire in front of PSU :)
I located the source of the front panel rattle. The 5.25" bay covers touch the front panel lightly enough that they can hum with HDD vibration.
Suggested solution: Put electrical tape on the edges of the bay covers in a way that it fills the gap between bay cover and front panel but is not...
I take back what I said. This is a high quality case for $150. I just had buyer's remorse because I was hoping it would be silent.
The front panel does rattle sometimes during hard drive read/write but I can make it stop by adjusting the side panel or by removing the front panel and putting...
I regret buying this case. I bought it to have something quieter than my CM690 but it turned out to be just as loud.
Much of the noise comes from the rear fan that has a bad bearing. The front fan makes a lot of noise too. What disappointed me even more was when the front panel started...
Any case with vents on the side panels is going to let a lot of noise out. Even if your fans are turned way down you will still get lots of hard drive noise coming out the side. My CM690 has vents on the side panel that faces me and the hard drive noise annoys me when Im reading or writing. When...
So if I am downloading at 600kb/s and then someone else starts a download, won't the router make it so we both download at 300kb/s? I also want to know if bandwidth use on my computer would have any effect on wifi connection rate on other computers. Just to clarify, all computers are connected...
My parents think my sister and I are hogging all of our 5.15mb/s bandwidth when I am certain its their laptops weak reception. I've proved it in the following ways.
-I tested the wifi sync rate on our newest laptop all around the house including where they put their work laptops and got the...
I have around 700GB to back up so internet storage isn't feasible. My idea does involve raid but also includes offsite backup. With a 3 disk raid-1 array can't I remove one drive and leave it offsite as a backup and on a weekly basis plug it back in and let it rebuild? Could that be done while...
I would like to make my Vista Ultimate computer accessible by two XP Home computers on the network so they may backup pictures on my computer and so I can use a printer attached to one of the other computers. The best thing I can think of is to share a three drive raid-1 array in a hot swap bay...
Anyone have an idea why Im getting consistently high access times? I have a 25GB partition for OS and page file is on another hard drive.
I just read Native Command Queuing increases access time but the article is dated 2004.
The memtest cd wouldnt boot and I read someone found it was because of raid. I disabled raid and memtest booted but then my raid volume wouldnt boot so I had to reinstall windows. Didn't do raid this time. Instead I put games on one drive and os on the other.
I have two wd1600aajs drives that I used in a RAID-0 array. The write/read speed was more than double what a single drive could muster. Ironically the access time was much lower than a single drive as well, 13.5ms versus 20.1ms using HDTune. Im still trying to figure out why because...
It was only the memtest cd that wouldn't boot. The access time for both hard hard drives is consistently 20ms. I also run the test right after startup for accuracy.
Without disabling raid in the motherboard bios the memtest cd wouldn't boot.
I thought Raid-0 would be good for gaming until I realized that its access time that really matters for games. Im still keeping with the parrallel computing method by putting the page file and games on a different...
Yah its the built in raid controller. I tried putting in the OS cd but no repair option. Its no big deal since I backed up important stuff but I think because of this experience I won't do raid next time around.
I disabled raid to run memtest and enabled it after reboot. Now the post screen says the volume is not bootable. I did back up files in case this should happen but is it possible repair the volume?
If you have more air going in than going out, the hot air can be recirulated around the case before it finds its way out. If you have only the top three fans pulling the air through the case there is only one direction for it to flow because there is no bottleneck. Ive tried both configurations...
Why control them manually when the motherboard can decide the perfect speed according to processor temperature? My Arctic Cooling fans are running a silent ~450 rpm right now because thats all thats needed. But when running prime95 they spin up to ~1200rpm. Its so much more user friendly. You...
It is quiet if you have pwm fans that throttle down to 450 rpm during general use. The only thing in my case that makes noise is the Corsair VX550W PSU fan. Though every now the case hums because one of my HDDs was dented in shipping and vibrates more than the other. Newegg didn't package it well.
