thankyou for that article, it'll be usefull to show some friends... 2x 5970 + GTX295 physx is certainly my dream at the moment, but i would think it would almost certainly mean putting the 295 on its own loop. since you would have to think about which waterblocks to buy, and mixing different...
yep, trifire 5970 is not possible, since that would involve 6 gpu's... what i was trying to get at in my previous post was that my friends rig was completely over the top, especially since he was only running a single GTX295...
i would say that one set of fans on each rad would be plenty...
i agree, the intake fans on the rads will be plenty to push air through the case... maybe have one side as intakes and the other as exhausts... i have a friend who has this:
http://www.dangerden.com/store/dd-double-wide-tower-21-black-series-edition.html
with 2x 480 rads and 1x 360 rad...
yeh, the DD case is still a bit annoying. The PSU took a while to mount, and it turns out the holes for the psu don't actually line up with his HX1000... when i left last night he was still plumbing the system, but yeh, i'll post a full worklog for him when its all done...
well still... 6 monitors will be even more crazy man... I've been showing your progress so far to my mate, who i'm helping build his new DD case for watercooling this weekend... he loves your progress, and almost wishes he got that same lian li cube...
i assume you mean something like these
that sounds like an absolutely epic setup, with eyefinity 24's plus an additional 2x 28"ers... how do you have that much desk space? pics pls...
pretty sure it wasn't worshipping family guy... it was trying to rip on it, but didn't really succeed, because of the bits with bart simpson in it, and cartman doing his usual betrayal of kyle.
I also remember the zune joke, which was hilarious, however the whole idea seems good from a...
you may want to do what GotNoRice has suggested, and go with a 3rd card to run the secondary monitors, as that will definately be much faster in general for swapping between general use and gaming. I run 2 17" crt's off my 4850, and gaming while watching a movie or something is great... you...
The logitech MX5500 K/B and mouse combo is bluetooth, and i love it... has volume and media control buttons on the side, and has some function buttons and stuff...
he wouldn't need SLI or CF, but an i7 would i appropriate, just so that you have plenty of power to spare when running 3 monitors and a projector at the same time.
if you really needed dual monitors on both computers, you could just get 2 kvm's, use on on each monitor, and just plug the keyboard and mouse into the kvm driving the primary monitor... as stated above, you could also just use the dual input functions of the monitors you already have and just...
i7 would be much better, as it performs much better than the amd quads... the 4 cores plus the hyperthreading would be would be benificial for your needs, well as going for that 640GB drive for the OS. you may even consider a second or more 1tb drives, as video files are relatively large aren't...
thats looking like a great case, mate... only thing is, wouldn't you just use positive pressure from the fans to exhaust air out of the case? the fans blowing in will force air out of the case through any vents in the case, so you shouldn't really need the extra noise from the fans on the side...
hehe, i built a new i7 system for my mate, and when i saw it again last weekend, the cable management was horrible too. its pretty hard to do anything particularly impressive, but my mate does have 6 hard drives, so he couldn't actually put cables under the hdd bays, because he put one under...
great, i'd love to see pics of that. i do agree, even on the sniper, the drive locks were pretty flimsy... i'm pretty sure that my mate added screws into his optical drives as well as the holders, just in case...
the sniper is enourmous, especially compared to an antec 900 for example, but i dunno about the scout, and thats what i'm worried about, especially when mounting my NH-U12P...
yeh, my mate is really happy that he went with the sniper, but i may well be going with the scout myself, just because of the size constraints of my desk...
i also haven't been able to find the storm scout or sniper on the CM site, but my mate just bought the sniper for his new rig, and its awesome. not the quietest case around (my other mates CM690 is way quieter) but looks awesome, and you can turn the blue LED's in the front and top 200mm fans...
