I kept checking my e-mail hoping for an invite that never arrived. I'm in Canada and I found out that you can just pre-order it from Amazon or Best Buy. I grabbed the horizon bundle Nov 15 but just checked and Amazon still has pre-orders left. Just a heads up if you're a fellow canuck. I...
If you don't want to spend much money get these cheap ass zenni glasses. https://www.zennioptical.com/p/metal-alloy-full-rim-frame-with-spring-hinges/5500?skuId=550021 They are very small and the lens are very close to your eyes so reduces the risk of scratching your headset. They fit perfectly...
The SDE and god rays are much better on the Quest when compared to CV1. The Rift-S has even less SDE than the Quest and the screen is a lot more crisp. I tried the 3 meter Anker cable and it worked well but the screen was a lot less crisp than my rift-s. Text that would be clearly visible on...
I have about 15 hours so far and have only made it through like %25 of the game. From what I've read there's around 40ish hours of content with all the side stuff. You can grab a Rift-S on black friday for $350 if you're looking to get into VR. Everybody is different and it might be my age...
Asgards Wrath is worth every penny. Have also been playing a ton of Synth Riders. It supports cross buy between rift and quest which is nice. Thrill of the Fight on Quest with room scale is also great and has cross buy.
Got a rift-s last week to replace my CV1. The screen is so much clearer, you can actually read text. Only downside so far is the shitty audio but I 3d printed some mounts for a set of koss headphones and that fixed the issue. CV1 is boxed up for good, couldn't see going back to that blurry...
I think I figured it out. I usually have my OBS footage set to save as mp4. It was set to mkv which hitfilm doesn't recognize so I used VLC to convert to mp4. Those videos were choppy in hitfilm. I set the output in OBS to mp4 and those files are not choppy in hitfilm.
So I ended up going with a Ryzen 3600, 16GB GSkill PC-3600, Gigabyte Auros Elite B450, and also decided to add in an Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 512gb M2 drive. All in I spent $600 CAD and this thing is noticeably faster than my i4 4790k build. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 pro from usb in...
Good to know. The Ryzen 3600 seems to keep up within %10 of an i7 8700k from the benchmarks I've seen. I figure I can upgrade mobo/cpu/ram for about $550cad and get $300cad or so for my current mobo/cpu/ram. Is there a benefit to 32gb ram these days? I've never seen my ram usage go over...
I haven't upgraded my cpu/mobo/ram in like 5 years and am thinking it's time now. I have an RTX 2070 and 3 x 500gb SSD's for windows and my games. I'm looking for a good price/performance cpu and from the bit of research I've done it looks like the Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 2700x are a good choice...
I solod the 1070 so I can't try it. I just found out that if I uninstall the drivers and try to get windows to update them it crashes and gives me an error:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. Code 43
I guess this 2070 is faulty.
Hi guys,
I just upgraded to an MSI Duke RTX 2070 from a GTX 1070. Before swapping cards I uninstalled nvidia drivers, booted into safe mode and cleaned out the old drivers using DDU. I've tried installing the drivers with Geforce experience, by manually downloading both standard and DCH...
I bought a new ac1900 5ghz router just for this purpose. Pc is hardwired to the router and I'm standing in the same room as it maybe 5 feet away. I've tried alvr and just bought virtual desktop. The latency is not bad but the image quality is kinda shitty. Some games I don't really notice but...
Thanks for the input. I don't need ultra settings at 4k just mostly looking for a better VR experience. I have enough points on my visa card to deduct $600 from the 2080 and can probably get $300cad for my current GTX 1070 so I think I'll go for it. Just been out of the PC loop for so long I...
Hi guys, I used to be an avid PC gamer but about 4 years ago I started my own business and became a dad so I didn't have to much time to play. Now that my kids a bit older and I'm not working 60+ hours a week getting my business running I'm back into gaming. I currently have a GTX 1070, i7...
I bought a PSVR for my PS4 pro last november and it's great. I just got a rift a week ago and in most aspects it's better. My rig has 16gb ram, i7 4790k and an RX 580 4gb. It runs most games I've played and medium - high settings pretty well. The one thing that I hate on the rift are lens...
I'm new to VR, just picked up the PSVR on black friday. I played through Doom VFR with the AIM controller and had a blast. I'm lucky in that I don't seem to get motion sickness when in VR. I've been able to use locomotion since day 1. I thought that every game would have locomotion by default.
I mostly game on PS4/X1 or through Steam link on my W1070 1080p projector with a 140" screen. Got a Playstation VR last week and have been loving it, not sure what size/resolution that would be :P
I'm a sucker and bought all the mystery packs and got jack shit. Who wants some free games?

If anyone else runs in to this issue I fixed it by plugging headphones into my soundcard (Avid Fast Track Solo). Once I did that it streamed sound from Kodi, VLC etc to my Steam Link.
How does streaming 5.1 audio to the steam link work? A long time ago when I tried streaming to my htpc that was hooked up to me 5.1 home theater and had lots of audio issues. I was on a wired gigabit connection.
It's not just the higher textures and graphic fidelity. Playing at 60+ FPS vs 30 is a big difference. One example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QksH65BmjK4
I'm playing on PS4 and the 30fps is killing my eyes. I bought it for PS4 instead of PC since the PS4 is easier to transport around the house and to my work. Just an FYI you can hook up your PC to your TV and use a PS4 or X1 gamepad. It blows my mind that people still bring up the "but I work...
Thanks for the info guys. I decided to go with the LG G4, it's $10/mth more than if I brought my own phone and my Rogers rep is waiving the early upgrade fee. She's also bringing the price down to $99 on a 2 year contract.
Ok there's something I don't understand. My cell phone bill is roughly $60 right now, if I grab the N6 on a 2 year contract I pay $99 and my phone bill stays the same. I don't see any plans where I live that would save me money buy bringing a phone I own outright. The only downside I can see...
My contract is almost up on Rogers and I need an upgrade from my HTC M7. I can get a Nexus 6 for $99, an LG g4 for $150 or a Nexus 6p when they're available in Canada for $199. I use my phone mostly for web browsing, e-mail and youtube. I would like the ability to have 2 programs open at the...
If they would have kept pro-guitar I would have bought it day one. I just don't see the value in buying RB4. No pro guitar, no keyboard, no multi player. What's the point? If they add in midi support for electronic drum kits I might consider buying it down the road.
