HP ENVY 17t-j100 - White Grid Display Panel: LGD03FB

Hi, I recently bought a HP ENVY 17t-j100 Leap Motion Laptop, aside from some of the issues I have it, the salient issue I'm hoping to find out here is what type of panel I'm using here and if anyone can tell me what I'm seeing. The panel PnP ID is: LGD03FB -- it's a LG AG panel but can find no...

    Official Dell u2413 Thread

Yikes2000, you're welcome and thanks for sharing your unfortunate experience. I think I'm going to buy one more S2740L and be done with getting a wide-gamut monitor. About the monitor damage, I'm going to take pics of the damage to the monitors in case they said I did it. I was 100% careful...

You're welcome and good luck! I got my 3rd replacement monitor today -- same issue, pink on the bottom right and green on the bottom left -- but much lighter this time, although, the bottom right (where the pink is) has a slight dark spot. Changing modes / color temps seems to get rid of the...

Matt, according to Chris-M on the Dell forums, the Uxx13 series will have the inverse ghosting issue and there are no plans to fix/mediate that with a firmware update and possibly tinting issues. My suggestion is, try the Dell size you really want (24 or 27) when they have the best price offer...

That looks like pricing for the U3014? A good price on the U2413 would be $449+Tax

It does! I'm not blaming Dell totally, they are not manufacturing it, but they really should contractually obligate and spec the monitor for all n-inches you paid for, not just the center 2 inches: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19269971.aspx But I guess if...

Update: Dell sent the monitor replacement within 2 days by fedex. Terrific customer service, but poor QC with LG or whoever is responsible for putting these panels together. Anyways, the final verdict is that the replacement monitor is also being returned. The new unit, while it has great back...

My Precious Dell U3014s Have Been Ordered!

Again, nice desks, I like the Bush design, hardiness and ease of disassembly when moving (dissembled and moved my desk twice) I believe mine is the C series. I tried various brightness settings and decided on 48 Bright / 38 Contrast to prevent inverse ghosting. Also, have you tried the fullsize...

My Precious Dell U3014s Have Been Ordered!

Forget about HDTV's as a monitor once they are over 27" -- I bought for a test a 39" Toshiba, and while somethings were nice about it, colors were nowhere the same as a monitor and text legibility was bad. I still may give that SONY model a chance, but my expectations are low. As for my U2413, I...

My Precious Dell U3014s Have Been Ordered!

Still will get back to you later today, but for now, I found this: http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666519671 which is due out on 5/5 -- it's a 32in Sony HDTV. I think after searching through all these...

My Precious Dell U3014s Have Been Ordered!

Oh yes, the "Smart Video Enhance" -- terrible -- I discussed that with another HF member when I was playing back video in the Official Dell U2413, just turn it off. I have to make this post quick, but will reply in full tmrw, and I'm just venting a bit a now, my replacement came today (terrific...

My Precious Dell U3014s Have Been Ordered!

Thanks for the feedback -- yep, mine is on DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort and I haven't tried to change the cables yet to see if the pink tint changes on different connections, but the very bad backlight bleeding on my U2413 is a problem regardless of connection :( Awesome setup! Just...

My Precious Dell U3014s Have Been Ordered!

Very nice setup! Congrat's! Don't want to spoil the moment, but do you have any back light bleeding / tinting on your monitors? I got the pink tint on my U2413 (that I'm exchanging, that was similar to the blue tint I had on my U2410.)

Good question. You'd have to go back in time to 2006 ... it seems like the pinnacle of LCD tech was during that year with the models in production (along with QA standards,) IMHO, it's been all downhill since then -- it's now a race to good enough, rather than producing excellent quality...

One More Update :) I sent a request to Dell to replace this unit for a new one today -- should be getting it sometime next week. I'll update this post with another review. Just one thing though, I don't expect the inverse ghosting issue to go away, although, it can be minimize with adjusted...

Update -- after using the monitor for about 6 hours today (or maybe I didn't notice at first,) the bottom right (where the most light bleed is) has about the size of a US quarter pinkish hue -- and the top left, has a thin sliver line, about 5 inches long, of pink tinting (on a white background)

FYI: Ghosting is undetectable when brightness set to 100% and Contrast 38% However, the screen is a bit too dark for my taste and use. Anything above 38% while at 100% brightness, the ghosting re-appears. Such a shame, this monitor had such high potential and a decent price (when on sale.) I'm...

I discovered that too after probing the OSD -- but I first discovered it with the popup dialogue. Some enhancement! Oh no, sorry, I meant the 100% brightness with the S2740L. I haven't tried that with the U2413 yet, but even at 50%, this thing is super bright -- so I see what you meant by...

Thanks -- game mode on the S2740L is AWEFUL! Everything just looks distorted, like (anti)anti-alias. I can just imagine how aweful "game" mode would be on the U2413. Did anyone tinker with the Factory Menu to see if there was an option to turn off OverDrive on the U2413?

Unfortunately, it was too late to return the S2740L, so I'm living with it with that setting. The 100% brightness / 40% contrast isn't that bad, but of course isn't accurate in reproducing image fidelity. I thought it would hurt my eyes too, but it doesn't. If I raise the contrast to above 50%...

I just bought the Dell U2413 today. I also have the Dell 2740L which is nice, but it looks like these two have the same thing in common, bad overdrive / inverse ghosting? I was just about to buy this and.....I found this latest review: " The HDMI has no HDCP. Meaning you cant watch Blueray from a PS3 using HDMI. HDCP sucks." HDCP is only supported on the DVDI-D connection. Dell kinda covertly conveys that too in their product detail: "Versatile connections...

If I don't like it, I'll then reconsider the S2740L (already have the S2240M which I actually do like, although I'm no fan of glossy screens, I like it for media playback. Thanks -- now I'm not sure if I should get this or not, as I do not know how durable the coating is. With the display being the way it is (mirror-like,) I think it would be much more pronounced/visible with damage to the coating compared to AG coating damage. I just ordered the U2410 to go...

    Dell S-Line Screens - S2740L, S2440L, S2340M, S2340L, S2240M

Can anyone confirm with the S2740L, if it's direct glass or coated glass?
