I still have my HP Reverb G2 but I'm not sure why, I never use it for anything anymore. I couldn't find another VR game I actually liked after Half Life Alyx. I played Skyrim for a bit but got bored quickly. Played a bit of Super Hot. Everything else just seemed janky. Performance is solid on...
My final guesses:
Most Likely: $2499 for the 5090, it's 80 percent faster than a 4090 on average, but Nvidia claims it's double. I'm guessing the 4090 gets discontinued or is continued to be sold as a light AI card, the 5080 is 1499 it's a 16 gb card and 25 percent faster than the 4090.
Less...
Could but hasn't, it won't until consoles can do it IMO. It's the largest install base. I forgot about jedi survivor because it ran like dog water on everything. I also just don't like those games in general. Avatar to me is really the first bell weather of things to come, but I still don't see...
I'm on my 7900 XTX wondering what game is worth the price of a 4090 after I paid 825 for this. As cool as path traced cyberpunk would be I'm not really interested, I finished the game a year ago. I played Metro and control with RT at 1440p on a 3060 ti years ago. There's still nothing worth the...
I'll be happy if the price isn't completely insane and the 5080 is close to half of the price of the 5090. My top of the head guesss is going to be a 16 gb 5080 for 1499 that beats the 4090 in gaming by a decent margin, and a 32 gb 5090 at 2499. I love my 7900 XTX but i'd move on if the 5080 is...
They'd have to generate the levels and whatever assets that are new for those levels, plus whatever gameplay and system changes that are required. But that's way cheaper than building out all of the infrastructure and art from scratch. They've done most of the heavy lifting. Building out the...
Honestly thinking about it, it really doesn't make sense to cancel it at this point. They've already generated most of the assets and done the hard part porting the code base and building out frostbite to support everything. A second game would cost probably half of what the first one did, maybe...
That's a shame, I wonder what the actual sales figures were like. My guess is they only made like 20-30 million off of it and decided it's not worth their time. The game probably cost 60-80 million to make even with the game mechanics in place. It still has to be ported to another engine, and...
We just need a law on the books to so that it's not just a federal agency statute. It's too easy for stuff like this to be overturned by the next regime at the FCC
You're wrong on both fronts, muscle mass does have a lot to do with relative strength. Yes there are plenty of strength athletes who are smaller, but they still do hypertrophy phases to increase the amount of motor units available to move a load for a particular lift. Primates muscle fibers are...
I'm not reading all of this thread because I don't really care. If they want to make more realistic women in video games, Lara Croft and Aloy should be fucking jacked. I'm sorry, but if you spend all of your time hanging off of shit, climbing, fighting. Doing basically the hardest form of...
Wow takes a lot longer to max out a character, ARPGs are quick to get to the end game. Gives you an opportunity to try something new each season (if there's something new). With PoE each update is basically an expansion so it kind of makes sense. Season 4 of D4 sounds like a massive overhaul so...
Have you seen the RT effects? Not worth turning on moat likely. I'm going to try and come back for season 4. Haven't played since the first two week of season 2.
I'm loving the game, it seems bigger than the last one but I don't remember it well enough to comment. It's the best looking game I've ever played without question. I don't have access to path tracing so I can't comment on cyberpunk's PT mode. However, in terms of asset quality, it blows...
There's an auto pickup setting I think, but it only works until your pack is full of a particular resource. That's my main issue wit hte game as well. Too much picking stuff up. Overall though, probably one of the most engaging open world games I've played in years, I might actually finish this...
It won't affect FPS, they're not using it for texture decompression. Check out the article a few posts back, they had some pretty specific reasons to not use it. It's only used for increased load times.
They're brilliant engineers, the game works flawlessly. CPU load seems well split across all cores, and I'm assuming that's because they're multithreading all of the decompression and sending textures to the GPU in an async manner. Most games typically run game logic on a main thread still, but...
That wasn't the issue.
It does
Completely uninstalling DS4 windows using a guide and dumping the app data and other installs it implements may have worked. I also got Sony's app to update the firmware of the controller. Everything is fixed now and there' no FPS degradation, DS5 native support...
I was actually just in the process of updating the firmware for my controller, I'm going to give it another shot and see if there's native DS 5 support. I know typically you have to have it wired for those features however.
Ohh that's a good point, I may have installed DS4Windows for one reason or another... I could see that potentially interfering. I completely forgot. I'll have to get rid of all of the relevant drivers from that and see if anything changes.
I played last night, fair warning, the PS 5 controller flat out broke my game for whatever reason. I was absolutely losing my mind, thinking I was going to have to sell my video card because my drivers weren't working. I was getting a constant 15 fps no matter what my settings were on my 7900...

The main headlines are as follows:
Available to devs Q2.
FSR Upscaling
Improved temporal stability at rest and in motion (flicker / shimmer / fizziness around objects reduced)...
Relax dingus I just spent 11 hours straight writing code, some people have tired brains.
Yeah I don't know if I would've gone from the 6750xt to a 4070. 4070 super would be the bare minimum.
Yeah there's no world in which people will only use them for gaming, small ML companies will buy these in droves. You're better off as a consumer waiting for the actual consumer grade cards at this point.
I don't think it's unreasonable to think that GDDR7 is all of the speed up in needs in terms of memory bandwidth, but we'll see. I could totally see them selling the card for $2499 and it selling out TBH. I won't be buying one but it'll at least be an interesting piece of tech.
I worked in the service industry for a decade, I'll go back for 6 figures, a 401k, and healthcare. Being at my desk all day sucks. No one has any personality at my job anymore, it's dreadful. We're all just little productivity worker bees pushing on our sprint tasks. Whole system sucks and gives...
Imagine paying the million plus it costs to build this thing rather than hiring a few people. Also, it'll likely break at some point and will cost a huge amount to fix.
