Remember the patch that came out for it, almost immediatly after the release of vista?
But you're right, this should have never happened.
I also have an yamaha RX-V663 .The pioneer VSX-1018AH-K is also in the same range, maybe a bit better, but that also dependso n the speakers. I think the onky 606 or 706 is also good.
the marantz sr4002 or 5002 I can't remember are also pretty good
avsforum is pretty much the best site...
thoses upses are probably passive versions, I would recommend active ones, so that the computer gets always the power from the batteries . helps against power drops / spikes
break in is really important, I got a 42px80 (1024*768) only use it for watching movies/series
it takes the fisrt 100 hours. you can use a special dvd or just watch series / movies full screen (no logo's)
after this , you can still get screen retention, but it will go away after 2-5 minutes...
depends what hardware you buy, I have my current system about 1.5 years now
(p35 chipset , q6600 (running at 2.8), 8800gtx , 4 gig ram) kicked out my x-fi card and using onboard spdif now.
I think if you choose the right hardware , it can last at least about 18months,
and yes that is...
I have also an 2709w, but not really notice the inputlag, I should try a fast game as trackmania or something.
pixelpitch is big indeed, but because of it , it is also more relaxing to read from it, unless you are always sitting really close to it. the 3008wfp has an s-ips panel, so alot less...
it comes with the dx updates , c++ redist, dot.net update
The first time I installed it , I got a black 'dos' box screen and it dissapeared again, nog error.
but that could have been cause by multiple reasons; I had SP2 beta for vista x64 installed, had multiple versions of C++ redists (x86...
when you overclock a dual or quad core, it will have a less impact on general usage (Even games )
games are at the moment more GPU bound (unless you go really really low res :) )
faster harddrives might also have a bigger impact than overclocking our cpu.
I have 2 raptors (74gig) in raid 0...
I am currently using my onboard realtek ALC882 , with optical output to my receiver
i am not sure if I get a improvement with other soundards , when using a digital output
personally I am waiting for an via envy pci express or an pci express cmedia solution (one that is a bit cheaper than...
I had also a similar problem with my x-fi, on the front Right . when I played music you could hear a distortion and sometimes out of the blue my computer froze up and static noise over all channels. found out that my x-fi was borked (well I narrowed it down to the x-fi)
I also had sometimes...
I have had the 'infinite booting' problem also also with my gigabyte P35-DQ6.
When I took my computer to the store, they found a dead memory stick was causing it.
But since then the lights of the onboard network connection are constant burning (even without a cable ) and only 100Mbit...
Actually the I7 920 isn't going to be that expensive, and you don't need the fastest ddr3 either. only the motherboard is probably going to be a tad more expensive in the beginning.
1920x1200 movies are difficult to find, since thats a 16:10 aspect ratio, the 1080p standard uses an 16:9 ratio or an 1920x1080 resolution.
16:9 is also referred als 1.78 OAR (original aspect ratio), this is a compromise made long time ago , all tv-series / shows are recorded with this...
I have a similar problem
my q6600 was clocked at 2.8 ghz (ok not so really high, but it is the first stepping anyway)
and I had 4x1 gig.
then I got a freeze, and strange noises came out of my loudspeakers, after that it didnt want to boot anymore ( it got in an infinit boot, like start...
received mine, no dead pixels so far , a little bleeding on top right corner, but I only saw it on a full black screen
little darker on each side.
It looks pretty big, coming from an 19 inch crt and bright :)
will post a few pictures as soon as possible
ordered mine too, was teared apart between the 2709w and the hp 2475w, seems that the hp has a bit more problems. ( and maybe because I saw the 2709 with my own eyes, a friend of me bought 2 of them :) )
strange , its could be a problem with the scaler chip or other parts,... borked electronics
what happens if you turn is on and off again. whats the refreshrate
About the HP LP2475w (I am interested in this one too). I have read that the presets are (very) bad, so you need to calibrate it. Oversaturated colors are related to that (I think). "Bad looking fonts" ... that is caused by the cleartype option, so turn it off, and you will see that the text...
yes the 2490 is very nice, unfortunately not available here in Europe (Belgium)
2690 is nice, but is around 950-1050 euros (if I am lucky)
the 2709 from dell seems also an interesting alternative, but I think that 27 inch is a tad too big.
but a friend of me bought 2 of them, and he is...
Doh, I wanted to order 2 , yesterday , because even with the transport costs (I live in Belgium) , its was a very good deal, doh doh doh
oh well now I might need to buy the hp 2475w, since the new lenovo's are TN based (2440x)
Average Joe has some good points, to use this device as a bootdisk is way too expensive (4gb sticks are way too expensive atm, probably always for the DDR2 version)
When read the idea for an scratch disk, I thought thats really interesting, even 4x2gb (or even 6x2) ddr2 of the cheapest ram ...
Or gateway to heaven.... anyway I think you need an darkmatter reactor for that
It is rather funny to read all those negative replies, here and on the official site
All those people should dump their TV, radio, mobile, computers, washmachines, microwaves, cars, bikes, shoes, clothes...
Indeed,
"directx just works (slower ?)"
first opengl was faster and then with the newer versions (5, 7,..) directx was faster
but now with the new shaders , I am not so sure anymore if directx is still faster
An example is maybe Crysis, wonder what the frame rate would have been when...
actually creative explanation was that PCI-E had a much higher latency than PCI
I actually don't get creative , that they aren't doing research to make better, cheaper (doesn't have to, but hey) soundcards / api / software . Just because they think they are the best...
No more creative...
