For what it's worth, I've been playing NV on the rig in my sig at 1600x1200, 8800GTS included. Looks & runs fine, although you can't exactly run max settings - unfortunately I can't recall the exact settings I've been using offhand.
Well, the card's back to normal after 8m at 375*F, so I'll probably hold off for now. I'll start keeping an eye out though for when I can no longer bring it back from the dead.
Thanks for the replies at any rate!
I'm actually in the process of cooling it right now after baking attempt #1 - hopefully things turn out! Anyways, I run at 1600x1200 at the moment, so not too demanding - thinking about possibly replacing the monitor though. Lately I've been playing Fallout: NV, Starcraft 2, Borderlands, Civ 5 &...
Title pretty much sums it up - my BFG 8800GTS 512 up and died last night with no warning, after just under 3 years of service.
I'm assuming that since BFG liquidated back in September that they're no longer supporting warranties. I know PNY was offering some sort of deal to BFG customers, but...
I love multiplayer RTS, and had a fair bit of fun with DoW 2 at release, but like previous Relic games, the balance was notably lacking, and the support post-release was simply awful.
If I were choosing between DoW and DA:O, I would definitely go with Dragon Age. It's a far better single-player...
Have you looked into D2D or EA's store or any of the other options?
I have no idea if either of those are available in Japan, but I know both have Dragon Age available for download.
Yea, I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, and while I shelled out for Warden's Keep, I'm thinking those $7 would've been better spent on a couple pints - regardless, I'd say the original DLC-less game is worth $40.
For whatever it's worth, Amazon also has this for $40 and free shipping - I...
This.
There were some pretty glaring basic design issues that I can't see being changed before release, and the whole thing certainly needed more than a few months of bug-fixing and polish as well.
Another word for the MX518, served me well for years, and it has a decent weight/hand feel. As an aside, I had one fail maybe a week before the 3 year warranty was up, and Logitech sent me a replacement immediately, no questions asked.
I tested it from alpha up until release.
It was a decent game as I recall, but I wasn't interested in paying $15/month for it at the time.
Once it's free-to-play, I'll definitely give it another shot.
Whether or not he's legitimate, he's copied this exact post to numerous gaming forums with a brand new account and no other posts. As far as I can tell, he's been banned at every one.
My wireless ran low on batteries too frequently and at too many inopportune times.
I use an MX518 now, just ran the mouse cable on top of everything else and I've never had it snag on anything, plenty of length.
What?
You can fly an effective tackler in a week or less, a useful Blackbird within a month, and by three, depending on what you aim for, you should be able to fly a decent Scorpion, interceptor or t1-gunned BS among other things. If you were talking about solo PvP, I could see that, but trying...
Possibly, but you can also go (mostly) afk for a couple hours and come back to a brand new 80+ if you're just trying new builds, which is kind of nice given no respecs.
They don't, it was a pretty deeply flawed game. I started in alpha, tested until release, realised 95% of the bugs, etc. I'd reported were never fixed in the preceding year(s). The content was essentially two levels copy-pasted numerous times, and well... I could go on for a while, but no point...
I, for one, loved DoW1 and am having a great time with DoW2 as well.
Anyway, to clear up some apparent misconceptions;
- there are squad reinforcements
- you can still attach sergeants to squads
- there is an actual campaign (and not one of the lame "capture the planet" campaigns ala DC or...
I really didn't care for it much, and given it being IGN, I'm fairly surprised they picked this.
I could name at least a few games released this year I think are better, but whatever. To each his own.
