Well, I returned my faulty LPL_ today at Best Buy, and lucked out with the GOOD MODEL Sam_LTM. 5 minutes on and I can see a huge difference in quality between the panels. Contrasts look insanely better, and best of all, NO 1080p flickering.
Absolutely not. In my experience with Plasma HDTVs, they are the absolute WORST offender in input lag. It makes games simply unplayable, no overreaction.
6-bit TN panels are the closest you'll get to having absolutely no input lag. Ghosting is there though. Ghosting is a problem with every LCD, you will never find one that doesn't have it.
w408h is a risk, compared on which panel type you get. LPL_'s are horrible and have huge flaws, while the LTL_ is perfect and a fantastic screen. I got the LPL_ and I'm gonna be exchanging soon.
I see. I'll try this.
Never used DVI though. Does it go in the VGA slot on the monitor? And it stays a digital signal (unlike analog VGA)? Would there be a difference in quality compared from HDMI to HDMI to HDMI to DVI?
I've heard stories of people getting an LPL_, having horrid bleeding and blurry colors, the works, then returning it, getting a Samsung, and saying it's an almost entirely new display.
I was going to use this as my main, but I love my LG246 too much. So I'm just going to return this HP and...
I have the LPL, apparently a horrible version between the two. But I really don't wanna get involved in a game where I keep returning it until I get the holy grail Samsung version.
When gaming on it with 360 and PS3 through HDMI, the screen will flicker (not the entire screen) with white little glitches/spark-ish flicks on random places on the monitor.
I've tested and concluded it ONLY does this on 1080p. It does not happen on 1080i or lower.
Anyone else with this...
As for gaming
I tried my 360 and PS3 through it, HDMI, at 1080p. The screen would constantly have small flickers/white glitches (not the entire screen) in random parts of the screen every 6 or so seconds. Really, really annoying and I have no clue if there's a way to remedy it, I haven't...
Also, when I hook up my 360, the screen will give tiny white flickers (not the entire screen, but small patches on the screen itself). It did this in HDMI and VGA. It's hard to notice in motion, but if you stare at a static image, you can see it clearly.
Got it today, and I'm undecided on it.
Firstly, it's the not the apparently superior Samsung model. I also notice the top is a bit darker than the botton. And it overall looks a bit blurry to me, images and text alike, along with being perpetually bright. Also kinda strange how the settings...
I'm also a big gamer. I use currently the LG246w, which is amazing, but I'm gonna be buying a new one.

PRAD rated it well on responsiveness/input lag...
I'd like to know too.
And by now, are you sure to get a Samsung when you buy one? Or is it still luck of the draw whether or not you get a Samsung or LPL?

It's pretty bad, and can be easily seen when any kind of motion at all crosses it. It's really hard to believe that came from a wallpaper about 8...

Can't find a thread on this monitor. Might pick this up to replace my LG246wp (has some unsightly burn-in I can't stand any longer). I'd be gaming heavily on it.
Anyone have this and have any input?
This monitor ghosts pretty bad, but never true burn-in. The only true burn-in which hasn't disappeared in over a year, was a part of a wallpaper I had that had a bunch of glowy squiggly lines. At night lately, I've set the brightness to 100, left it on all night with a towel over it when I'm...
So is this monitor officially out of production? No places selling it anymore?
I love mine, but the burn-in from a wallpaper a year ago is getting on my last nerves. Ruins beautiful quality video game and movie scenes.
So, I wanna give an update on my problems, and the 2 main things that are making this monitor a bummer for me.
One, is banding. I could swear, about 3 months ago, I noticed none at all. But the past few weeks, it's been noticable, and terrible. Can something cause banding over time?
Two...
Quick question from an uninformed.
I think lately, I'm getting some banding. I never noticed this before, and I'm not sure if it was always there, or what. But sites like

Have some HORRIBLE banding on the sides. Does...
From what I can remember, about 1 or so.
But now, just recently, 2 new burned in lines have appeared. Vertical and thin, they look like something from a 4:3 ratio. I have NO clue what those are from, and especially since I've been so anal about burn-in, and have had a steady blank black...
So after my old post about burn-in, it still isn't fixed. I'm doomed with it.
It REALLY sucks, and is very noticeable in video games (panning the cameras and such)
I bought this around 6 or so months back (no warranty).. I love it, but I can't stand the burn in anymore. Is there any way I...
