PCI-E 3.0 on X79 is not guaranteed as an fyi. My Gigabyte board with my GTX670 for example will not run when PCI-E 3.0 is forced but there are others who can. It varies.

lol....nVidia drivers are the problem? Must be the endless threads in the nVidia forum regarding problems with the 600 series (aside from the V-Sync issue...but at least it's been confirmed and is being fixed.). Good to know AMD's 7XXX don't suffer from any driver issues at all.

Avoid PNY....their "lifetime" warranty is the "lifetime of the card on the shelf". Could be one or maybe two. A GTX470 released in 2010 is certainly out of warranty by now.
