Great review, decided to buy this and wait till a 120hz ips is released before upgrading again. What's that program again to change the default timing parameters?
The resolutions are as follows:
All resolutions are supported over both DVI and DisplayPort. 1280x720 and 1360x768 aren't listed but I'm sure they're supported.
After realizing how well IPS LCDs (2209WA & U2410) sold on Dell, they decide to short change NEC and claim their monitors are tops by labelling the NEC EA231WMI-BK as a TN.
The Viwesonic VP2365wb and the NEC EA231WMi seem to be using the same panel. Your choice would be based on price, looks, availability or if one manges to provide less input lag.
If the input lag and picture quality is the same I personally would get the $369 NEC over the $300 Viewsonic; based...
Besides work and web browsing 16:9 is superior. I scroll on web pages so that extra 120pixels doesn't mean much to me.
Nearly Every current Sports/Anime/Prime Time show is in 16:9.
The Games I play (TF2, CSS, etc...) have a higher FOV in 16:9.
16:9
16:10
The Majority of movies, which...

I'll most likely pick one up there if the reviews are good.
Thanks Toasty, about the Contrast ratio 5:1 tip was simply going on the 178 viewing angles and Nec's past IPS LCDs. If only the Samsung F2380 was an IPS (likely never gonna happen) it would of been sweet.
Also received conformation from Nec today:
The V221W uses a TN panel.

Well E-IPS isn't expensive as the 2209WA was selling for around $200 for the same size. Ya I noticed the 24WMCX maybe false viewing angles on Nec's part to maintain their quality image. I guess I can only hope.
Maybe someone owns one here?
About $400.00-$500.00 US, Im guessing its only available overseas;

"incorporates advanced Trinitron technology" - http://www.welovemacs.com/m4868.html
If it shows little to no probs that affect crts over time, then it will look amazing.
Strictly for gaming I'd Suggest the 245BW (lowest input lag out of the bunch), and if you want the greatest LCD gaming monitor then the Planar PX2611W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824016084
That Sony posted above is clearly a 4:3 tv, I'm not sure about the enhanced part (probably marketing) but it will display black bars on the top and bottom with your 360 in 16:9.
It's a dream in its natural resolution. It needs a beefy card; scaling, if I'm right, causes the input lag to go way up. You need to scale for the xbox360/ps3 or use the 1:1. No HDCP (although I heard something about HDCP for dual link cables), other than that its a dream.
I'd suggest a native 16:9 ratio crt hdtv for the xbox360.

Actually the BenQ has some major input lag, the LG L246WP has the least input lag out of the bunch with 1-1.5 frames lost on avg. The dell would be 2nd with 2 frames lost on avg touching 3 at times as with the BenQ (slightly higher) than, the Samsung leading in the back of the pack. I suggest...
I'd choose the Viewsonic VP2030b out of the batch, also heard good reviews way back about the VP930b. Its MVA but you don't photoshop so it's not important and the input lag shouldn't bother you much cause you don't play FPS. Movies should still look great.
use this for some reviews:

the crt part is the input lag the lower the better
Ya the exchange rates are a bitch lol, but your pound is top notch would be cheaper to go to the USA and pick it up ^_^. Also here's a good site for comparing different models (very limited).

1. When you turn off your computer the lcd will turn off but a light on the lcd's power button might change to a different color indicating stand by mode (using next to nothing in power). If you press the power button it will shut off completely (some don't). Keeping it in stand by mode should...
