Actually Polk does make a decent budget subwoofer comparable to a BIC H100/F12 and PA120 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290130 (all nothing special) About the only Polk subwoofer I would buy. Anything above then you get to Elemental Design, Hsu, SVS range.

tiestolulz ok on topic user Cerwinvega gave the best advice. Truth is you will not get 'deep' hard bass with anything with that budget. You will however get some deep muddy dirty fart sounding bass unless you spend a bit more.
