Actually Polk does make a decent budget subwoofer comparable to a BIC H100/F12 and PA120 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882290130 (all nothing special)
About the only Polk subwoofer I would buy. Anything above then you get to Elemental Design, Hsu, SVS range.
I had a pair of these and they're exactly what someone described earlier. You get what you pay for. They're definitely a step above any computer speaker or budget studio monitor. But after you buy them, it won't be long before you will be wanting more.
You mentioned movies and 5.1 then here's...

ok on topic user Cerwinvega gave the best advice. Truth is you will not get 'deep' hard bass with anything with that budget. You will however get some deep muddy dirty fart sounding bass unless you spend a bit more.
Nvidia fan forum logic
You are only allowed to either:
A: jump for joy and sing Fermi's praises
B: Be negative about Fermi
You are either a Nvidia or an AMD fan.
No you cannot be a plain consumer voicing your opinions unless they are positive. If that is the case you will be welcomed to...
2 things:
1. ASUS Mars was above PCI sig and ignored it
2. These like Mars are limited edition something like only 1000 units hence they can ignore PCI sig limitation of 300w.
A good post and none of the usual armchair market analyst rambles. Funny how you mention 'Nvidia cash' indirectly with regards to Fermi support and its turns into a buzzword with multiple myopic posts in defense of Nvidia on possible wet dream forecasts as a response.
Don't blame them however...
Sounds like denial. Riddle me this nvidiots: 6months late are ati fans really scared?
If Fermi is worth the wait (I highly doubt) I'll buy one. I buy both brands myself only an idiot would defend a company and spin free pr. But here's the kick in the nuts for you, even the most hardcore fans...
You've been drinking too much Nvidia PR Koolaide. Just look at the twitter page filled with angry responses from Nvidia fans yes greenies, says you're fool of it.
Or the guy that's excited probably fell into a coma in November and just woke up today. Now that I can understand being excited for Fermifail. Should be renamed to Fergie anyone agree? E. Fermi is rolling in his grave right now for the slander.

Speakers http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/features/542469405/energy-rc10?s_c=site_search
I have these as well as the AV 40s and they will impress you like no other speaker for this price. I'm sure they will for you...
Paper launch in March then a realistic ample supply June-August-September-October is what it looks like now. Thank god that's just around the corner fellas.
So its now past noon. Nobody is jumping for joy over the big announcement?
Oh oops Nvidia fans are pisssed http://www.facebook.com/posted.php?id=8409118252&share_id=319744854245&comments=1#s319744854245
Actually, Guru3d author tries to suck up to Nvidia by bashing CD then agrees with alot of what he said.
I'm going to tear up my JHH poster if this is true.
Charlie was right about the bad A1 and A2 yield issues. http://www.guru3d.com/article/nvidia-geforce-470-480/
They are now on revision A3
Yet this will be ignored haha.
$299 ? really ? I would then assume $399-$430 for a 480
Nobody's mentioned the obvious here?
I hate for this to be true. That means they know performance will not be that great.
Btw never heard of 490 ever mentioned? Inquiring minds want to know :)
Nice red herring but this goes back to question 1. Why is he wrong? Wood screws, mock card, late late late when Fud and Nvidia kept saying November then January, A1, A2 tapeouts...etc etc
Yes we know he's Hannity + Beck + limbaugh + devil....this hasn't been said in the thread yet. You people...
Sounds like you been out of the loop with Charlie and everything Fermi since '09. Please research the threads and try to keep up. Leave you at it. Ad hominems aren't not enough to discredit sorry.
Most of us are just consumers with an inherent antagonistic viewpoint. The only thing pathetic are people here spinning free PR (LOL) and defending their beloved green company.
I recently bought the AV 40s as well and I'm really liking them for basic desktop use. 1 thing I gotta warn about them however: the headphone insert jack is really flimsy and not well built. Mine broke after about 2 weeks of using my headphones plugging in and out.
Bass is surprisingly good on...
His info is incorrect according to my sources. its actually 10%faster. I'm sorry guys. No I will not name my sources even though the internet handles are anonymous as well.
I agree with this guy who agreed with the first guy... .... (ellipses included to make me look mysterious and thoughtful)
Could the Fermi be cancelled? Possibly, if they have to announce an important announcement on Monday. I'm betting myself it has nothing to do with Fermi.
VR Zone's take mostly on Charlie's news and then some: http://vr-zone.com/forums/561980/nvidia-s-fermi-gtx480-is-broken-and-unfixable-hot-slow-late-and-unmanufacturable.html
Who is this Fud guy you speak of guyz?
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/16544/1/
This latest from Fud means Charlie eats crow? Yes?
Do the green fish ever stop taking the bait?
