I live to serve my good sir.
That feature intends to make up for timing differences in the audio based on speaker distance differences. It works terribly unfortunately and what you end up hearing are very similar sounds coming from both the fronts/surrounds and the atmos speakers a good dozen...
Rumour has it we may hear some info at PAX in early Sept. Certainly will be hearing more on Indy games then.
If no VC stuff at PAX then likely at the Tokyo Game Show in late Sept.
I've been doing a lot more Social VR than gaming. Primarily AltSpaceVR and Facebook spaces last few days. I've made some pretty cool friends in AltSpaceVR that have carried on to IRL friends.
Gaming on VR is insane, and in certain genre's like racing/flight sims it cannot be beat by traditional...
Bitstreaming is the correct answer here. However Dolby Atmos encoding is coming to Windows 10, so playing back content with more than 7.1 channels that isn't Dolby/DTS encoded should be possible.
In fact, checking now, the add-on is already partially propagated in the Windows 10 store:
Been playing this for some time now, got in on the early access support for £100 a while back.
Stunning game when played on a monitor. In VR it's still visually trash, as was PC1 at this point in development, with texture glitches and inconsistent shadows between each eye. However... the audio...
Regarding the ^^above^^ back and forth, am I the only one that is first amused, then shortly after embarassed this childishness is happening on [H]ard turf?
Alright, after a month of ownership the monitor will show only black every few days until I unplug the power lead for an hourish. In addition, when running at native res the right half of the screen is showing corruption (vertical lines) in midtone areas with light gradients.
Anyone know what...
Just doing my daily read on Guru3d and saw this.
Good to see NVMe come to a more consumer oriented product than Intel's offerings.
Having just bought a non-NVMe SM951 a few months ago, I thought It'd be annowed, but instead I feel like I'll still get plenty of use out of it. Although I...
My real concern with the year long free upgrade window, is what happens when we want to reinstall after the year is up? Do they give a new serial when you upgrade, or do they allow the old serial to work with 10? Too many unanswered questions for me. If it's a case that a reinstall after the...
These driver are their first release using Auto Stereo (part of their VR Direct updates). This is supposed to render games that don't have Rift support in a manner that they look playable through the rift, however they fuck up Rift enabled games by sowing the split image on both eyes, so no go...
I have a dual DVB-T & dual DVB-T2 (HD) setup and I run it on WHS2011 and Argus TV for the tuning/recording/management. I previously ran it on Win7 and neither gave any trouble.
Part of the cable/signal spec is for devices to say what type of device they are (monitor, receiver, etc). Since most, if not all, monitors were incapable of using or passing through a 5.1 signal when the spec was created, there's a good chance that the PS4 is just automatically saying nope to...
I'll say it before everyone else does. The Ubiquiti Unifi Access Point would be the best bet for this. You could install two of these, one where you wifi base currently resides, and one in or near the deadzone and turn on the wifi in your current router. The Unifi's support handing-off devices...
I'd offer up some screenshots as well but I can't imagine what's displayed on the Oculus Roft DK2 would look as impressive. Having said that, if playing on a rift is an option, the game offers exceptional support and is by far the best application I've used to show off the Rift.
I had purchased an MSI 980 from Novatech in the UK on the 6th of Oct (so well before the promotion start) and they just sent me a AC code through the post.
Excellent customer service, but expected as I do pump a fair bit of cash into their business through referrals.
Another benefit of an HDMI AVR that I don't see mentioned often is with PC gaming and uncompressed PCM surround over HDMI. Running with coax or SPDIF means you'd have to basically transcode your signal on the fly into DD or DTS to get surround and lose some fidelity, but running over HDMI sorts...
I have yet to do any overclocking with this new build. The RAM is running at 2666MHz using the XMP profile.
I get the impression that English isn't his first language and I did carry on a bit. So.....
The bios is F8d, There is a link at the bottom of my post. This allows my Xonar sound...
There's an issue that seems to affect many X99 boards where PCI-e audio cards don't work correctly. In my case it was an ASUS Xonar Essence STX. Windows would recognise it, I could install the dirvers, but whenever I tried to play audio through it, nothing.
Anyways, after 2 weeks of discussing...
These drivers render my Rift DK2 completely useless. On 14.8, everything works as expected. However as soon as I install these I get a black screen on all attached monitors when I enable the Rift. Hard reset and disconnecting the Rift is the only way back to a working system.
I'm looking to upgrade my server cheaply to handle more concurrent video transcode streams. On Gigabytes website I see that this board handles some Xeon's but makes no mention of the 32nm 6-core Xeon's. Anyone able to shed any light on this?
I've had two of these cards, and the only reason I can imagine the cards are stuck at those clocks if it was bios modded to keep it there. Head to techpowerup and grab their stock bios for that card and see if that makes a change to at least idle/3D clocks.
I was having some serious issues with the 4.0 release supporting Crossfire. I only tried testing with BF4 and Grid Autosport, but the game clients would CTD within a minute or so when trying to capture game footage.
The 4.0.1 update they just put out seems to have sorted these issues and now...
I've been having crashing/freezing issues with the latest version of chrome due to it causing my GPU clocks to vary incredibly rapidly. Resolved this by deleting pepper flash from chrome and installing stock flash from Adobe. Worth a shot turning off HTML5 after this and seeing if it helps.
Looks like Polyphony Digital's big media frenzy for their franchise kicks off in just over 2 hours (15:00 GMT). GTPlanet seems to be a good place to get the news as it comes in, but if anyone knows of any news sources that will be live updating from Silverstone, it'd be greatly appreciated...
Used DriverSweeper with reboots between uninstall, sweep and reinstall. With 13.5 both my side screens won't turn on at all, and if they do I get what seems like a wavy tear accross the side screens.
