Awesome monitor man! I own two :)
Yes, a bad HDMI/DVI cable can cause those issues. I'd definitely try to get your hands on another.
Do you have any game systems, etc with HDMI ports? You could always hook one of those up temporarily to help rule out any issues with the monitor itself.
Looks like my 3rd pci express slot is too low, so that'll end up snuffing out the bottom card.
I went ahead and wedged a couple erasers between the cards. Then I slapped a spare 120mm fan on their sides. Now I'm sitting at about 85 degrees C under load with the case buttoned up! :)
I actually...
Thanks a lot for the suggestions folks.
I'm running an unmodified Antec P180 case. I try to keep things quiet (yeah, I know, stupid move getting two video cards huh?), so I probably won't be modding the case or running without the side on.
I'm gonna try throwing a couple fans on the sides of...
Hey folks.
I recently added a 2nd 6850 to my setup and am having some major heat issues. The top card is reaching 110+ degrees celsius under load. Just curious if anyone has any recommendations for a two slot aftermarket cooler that may help.
As you can see things are pretty tight:
I stopped coming to HardOCP months ago due to thoughtless comments like this (note, they weren't about Apple or Steve Jobs at the time). Decided to give the site another try this past week and I'm sad to see nothing has changed. I'm all for having humor tucked into my tech news, but you guys...
Thanks for the replies folks. Certainly not my first ebay purchase, but I always get nervous when I don't hear anything from a seller after a transaction.
So has anyone that bought one had theirs ship yet? I haven't heard a thing yet. Either the seller isn't in a hurry to ship, or has some poor communication.
+1
This video is a complete waist of time. I stopped reading dailytech (and in turn anandtech) because of all the heavily biased posting. Steve's posts at times make me feel the same way about Hardocp.
I just picked up a G9x at Best Buy (on sale for $69) after thinking I'd go with the Mamba since I've been using wireless mice for years. Overall I preferred the G9x's ergonomics and liked the customization it offers. So far I'm extremely happy with the G9x and am not bothered by the wire at all :)
Just came from a MX Revolution to a G9x. In this particular comparison I would say my new wired mouse is waaaay more precise. I also own a MX1000 and it feels laggy by comparison as well.
I just replaced my dying MX Revolution with a G9X. Love the customization and precision so far! Though I suppose my opinion is a bit skewed coming from a wireless mouse. I thought the wire would bother me, but it's braided and I gotta say I barely notice it.
Alright, forgive my ignorance on this one, but how in the heck do I try this for free this weekend? When I go to the Steam page for it all I see is an option to buy it @ 50% off.
It sure looks like a Retail Upgrade copy, not full. As others have stated we don't know how that will impact the installation process yet. I'm wondering if I can install a copy now under an evaluation period then activate it with this key.
Trying to get Vista installed on a Lenovo 3000 y410 for a friend. Problem is they killed both the primary and recovery partitions when screwing with the laptop, and of course didn't create a recovery disc with the included utility beforehand.
Vista doesn't have a driver for the HD during the...
My 40 GB died so I grabbed a Slim. Fan noise was horrible! Went through two more before giving up and getting a 80 GB instead. Nice and quiet and $299 as well :) Too bad they're discountinued.
So I replaced my first PS3 Slim due to lockup issues. My new Slim's fan is LOUD. It's at least 3x louder than my 40GB unit was. Very annoying. Haven't watched any movies with the system yet, but I'm not looking forward to it. Argh. Guess I might try to exchange again...
Read that as well. I've also heard people mention that the bluray drive is a bit louder. Mine actually seems a bit quieter than the one in my 40GB...
I formatted the HD in my slim and my freezing issues went away. Then I was playing Batman and it locked up. Now it's freezing on videos again...
My 40GB PS3 died over a week ago. Picked up my Slim on Wednesday. Everything was great, however now it keeps locking up when trying to stream video it via TVersity. Funny thing is that it was working just fine Wednesday. Anyone else having this problem?
This is true. They added a bit of padding in the compartment. However, the change that really fixed this problem was with the battery. It's a little bigger now. Most folks with older Pre's and the reset problem have had no issues after getting their batteries replaced for the new one.
Anyway...
Ooooo. Digging the Darth wallpaper. Think I'll put it on my Pre ;)
BTW, that case makes your iPhone look like a freaking tank... but in a cool way :D
edit: ... and done :)
After watching a couple video reviews I gotta say it looks a bit run of the mill to me as well. However, the controls in a console FPS always make a huge difference in the experience I have. That's the thing that makes this title appealing to me. Though the fact that the singleplayer is only 8...
So... who's picking up The Conduit for Wii tomorrow? Seen a fair amount of hype on this one, but I gotta admit I'm a bit on the fence. Video's look a bit bland, but if the controls are like Metroid it could be a lot of fun.
