Raja, is the Z87-PLUS gonna get the USB ASMedia_U3_FW_update that was made available for others boards (PRO,EXTREME,DELUXE,etc)? Because the Z87-PLUS also has 4 ASMedia USB ports...
Maybe it was forgotten?
I'm on W8 64b
But I just bought an Asus 280X, so now both vga and mobo are from the same brand, no excuses not to work properly :P
I did NOT install CCC, just the drivers, let see how it goes.
Matija, just to let you know you are not alone on the freeze thing :(
yesterday I had a freeze while browsing, today I had a freeze at browsing. both occurred about 30m after turning the system on.
Here mouse freezes for 1s, then moves a bit more then freezes completely.
yesterday when it...
I also have that atkexComSvc.exe running and I only installed 2 things from Asus:
Network Drivers (network adapter not working after windows 8 install)
Chipset Drivers (had an unknown device reported in device manager)
I also noticed Windows was pulling some Asus software on windows update, I...
intel nic is better.
yeah c2 chipset revisions fix that sleep issue. I don't use them either but I didn't wanted to buy something that was known to be flawed.
When I shutdown my PC the keyboard Num-lock light stays on, is there any BIOS option to turn that off?
Even if I press the key it won't turn off, if I replug the keyboard the light goes off.
The keyboard is the Ozone Strike (I don't think that does matter, but I can try with another keyboard...
Yeah, tried HWInfo today, it shows almost everything correctly :)
I think the last time I tried it was some years ago and it was paid, but now its free :)

Just trying to pass the message that 1504 does works fine in some combinations and your reported problem doesn't apply to all boards/ssds.
people shouldn't be afraid of upgrading, but its always best to keep a copy of a known stable bios prior to upgrading :)
Does anyone here use HWMonitor...
I upgraded to the latest 1504 on my Z87-PLUS and my Samsung 840 EVO works just fine.
If its freezing at light loads perhaps something related with idle states? Do you have the new C states enabled? is your PSU haswell certified? if not try disabling them.
I can't reach 4.3GHz :(

what else can I do?
Is there any way to adjust fan speeds on the BIOS (i.e. set them to 100% if temp > 80ºC), or do I really need to install AI Suite 3 so I can access Fan Xpert?
I known that in the bios there is silent, standard, turbo, but I would like a bit more control and current version of speedfan doesn't...
Yes I plug the speakers on the green back panel, and for the headphones I would like to do it like on the previous board, connect it on any other plug and in the drivers assign it to "headphones".
But apparently I can't retask the back panel once speakers are already connected :(
The only way...
Was anyone able to plug in speakers and headphones, both with sound output at the same time on the back panel?
I could do it on my old board with ALC888, but I can't do it with ALC892?!
So many different benchmarks out there, I can't decide which card to pick (to play @ 1920x1200), 280X or 770...
I'll be upgrading to a 1150 4770K, just the card upgrade missing...
I do understand that in haswell cpu plays an important role, i'm just trying to figure out if I need a better board to use DDR3-2400 with a moderate OC.
i.e. if the same cpu with the same oc will work with 2400 on lets say asus hero but on the z87-plus it won't.
Hello, is the Z87-PLUS capable of running G.Skill Trident X at 2400MHz (1.65v) with a i5 4670K on a average OC (4.2GHz max)?
Or should it be paired with a cheaper 1600-1866MHz 1.5V RAM?
Hello there,
I'll be building a new rig next month, I'll use it mainly for image editing and gaming.
The CPU will be buying a 4670K, mobo probably Z87X-UD3H or Asus Z87-PRO. I plan to OC it on air, so something in the 4.2-4.4GHz range
I want 2x8GB ram (I need it for the image editing part)...
Have you tried switching the cables on the card ports and see if the colors remain on the same side?
i.e. you have Monitor 1 connected to gtx680 DVI-1 and Monitor 2 connected to DVI-2.
So connect Monitor 1 to gtx680 DVI-2 and Monitor 2 to DVI-1.
If the color tint remain on the same side then...
And I bought it :)
To me it has some bleeding (no tint) on the top right and bottom left corners on a dark room with a black image, applying some pressure (puling towards me) on the bezel reduces the bleeding considerably and makes the screen more uniform. Under normal conditions, bleeding is...
those games would be cheat to "rebuy". Also don't forget that games are getting more "online" than ever, and many of them require active internet connection to play. no one knows how long they will keep those servers online for you to be able to play...
and you'll probably never will considering you will keep buying new games (and some of them you will never play as well). So lets be realistic, I don't see why expiring games would make a difference for you, in the end you don't end up playing them anyway, so the difference would be just the...
