I prefer option 1, as it has more flair then just a single red line imo.
Regardless, any front panel made by Ricardo will look great.
If it resembles a Murdermod/Murderbox design, so be it, that pays respect to an important part of the TJ07 heritage, and still looks good on any TJ07 build...
That's good to hear. I realize that sometimes circumstances change, and although it's rare, I've seen a few good build logs posted that died before they were finished. This one deserves to reach completion!
So, combined with the tim replacement, this should produce a huge temp.drop. jk:rolleyes:
I've also been replacing cpu/gpu tim for years. I find the exposed heatpipes of the 470/480 heatsink with it's grooves and uneven surface to be the biggest problem when trying to find a suitable tim...
Sorry, I don't live in the UK, but the HR-03GTX is available in the US and is now appearing in Canada, some shops may ship to the UK. Have you inquired at Overclockers UK?
There is another thread in this section a few pages down about the HR-03GTX, I posted to it as well. I won't repeat my...
Ya, dccmadams, your reply really helps this thread. You must enjoy being a troll.
-x-th: Thanks for creating this important thread. I have a 280 as well, and have just purchased an HR-03GTX for it. I have installed several other HR-03 series heatsinks on various Nvidia cards ranging from the...
bazookaworm:
Nothing against quad-core processors, they are great for those who need them, but
based on your requirements and what you have stated you want to do, I would suggest getting an E8400 dual-core, good pricing on them now. And they provide plenty of speed, regardless if they are...
You will get one hell of an improvement going to the 260, just as RussianHAXOR did.
No more stuttering for me, Crysis is smooth as silk. And COD4, R6V2, Bioshock, Assassins' Creed, etc. Oddly enough, even GTASA has had some rough sections I was experiencing with my GX2 and previous 8800GTS taken...
I agree. Did the step-up from a GX2 to the 280 as well. As many have reported, the 280 is smooth. No more stuttering, and AA can be used without bogging things down to unplayable framerates. I did mine before the price drop but it was still only about 50 bucks. At the current prices it costs...
That's great, good benches, you don't hold back on the AA and settings either. You are getting very good temps., obviously not one of the overheating cards, although that seems to have been more of an issue with the 280's. Having said that, my 280 has had no temp. problems either, but it's in a...
You won't regret getting one, I've only had my EVGA GTX 280 for about two weeks now, (step-up from a GX2) but it has been trouble-free.
There really is a big difference in smoothness, even with Crysis. And no more stuttering. Not in any hurry to overclock it yet because it performs so well at...
Excellent choice, I was about to give the EVGA FTW card my vote. Crysis runs very smooth on these cards, let us know how well the card performs for you:cool:
I would recommend you get a GTX 260, it's a damn fast card at a good price. But also check out the EVGA version as they have the Step-Up program and a terrific warranty and customer service. I recently traded up from an EVGA 9800GX2 to a GTX 280 and couldn't be happier with its performance...
Thanks:)
From what I've heard so far, the 260 is another rocketship, especially when overclocked. They are overclocking very well too, so it is looking really good for the 260. If I didn't already have a GX2 for the step-up and had to buy one outright, I would have gone for the 260 as well...
Good for you, RussianHAXOR, you deserve a new card. GTX280? I have my step-up GTX280 coming (shipped today) from EVGA. I couldn't believe how fast I advanced from #255 on the quenue. And the 280 was shipped almost immediately after they received my GX2.
Now I hear I may get a few bucks back from...
A couple weeks ago, I e-mailed Thermalright Support about the availability of the HR-03GTX. They replied that it will be available in early August:cool:
Lol:p
Thanks again for the information and good news. Shouldn't be too bad of a wait. Not that I am lacking any firepower now with an EVGA GX2:) But a new toy awaits.................
I joined the EVGA step-up list as well, (#255:(). Been experiencing the micro-stuttering to some degree with the GX2, it's a fast card alright, but I'm really looking forward to the smoothness of the single-gpu cards, the 8800GTS 640 and G92 versions I had didn't stutter like the GX2. The Crysis...
Hopefully Mr. Haxor will chime in and give us some insight. I did feel better when I saw his post about the step-ups being moved in large blocks. I guess it depends on how many cards EVGA actually has available to ship and how efficiently they can process the step-ups.
Well, whether or not you like factory-overclocked cards, I think it's cool that EVGA has all those versions of the 280. I have always done well with their vanilla cards and prefer to use Rivatuner, although lately I switched to EVGA Precision (love that Age Of Conan skin by DWood, that girl's hot:D)
Think there is any chance I will see my 280 this summer? Number 255 in queue:(
I have been checking the site for two days, no step-ups yet when I was last able to check at 6am this morning. Since I have to work from 7am to 3.30pm, I couldn't get my step-up in until 4pm today. So much for the...
But if the op uses the BB gift cards to get a card, I think that 9800GTX is an excellent choice. Also, BFG has a Step-Up program so that card could be upgraded within the 90 days to something a little faster *cough* GTX260 *cough*:D
