No. My information is from LG, not Dell.
LG has been touting the benefits of these panels (over their earlier panels and the competition) to oems or some time now.
The U2415 is a much nicer panel than the U2414H. There's really no comparison.
If you want 16:9, get the U2715H on sale. The U2715H has the 27" 16x9 version of the panel (and electronics) in the U2415. It's much nicer than the BenQ 2710PT.
I just ordered one of these. Using the 20% + 10% off coupons linked on Bensbargains.net, the cost was $490.99. Delivery is scheduled for 11/12/2014.
I had to ask Dell to apply the 20% off code via chat since the U2715H is still considered a pre-order item in their system, and the coupon...
Keep in mind that we may not see the fixed A03 at or near $899 for a long time. Dell almost certainly offered the U3014 at this price to clear out inventory of the A02, all of which exhibit this issue to some degree.
With time, yields will increase and prices will fall. Also, Dell places orders that are an order of magnitude larger than Asus's orders. I think $1999-2199 MSRP is entirely realistic for a device that ships in late November.
No. All the 30 inchers have the same heavy anti-glare coating (except for the U3014).
We won't see other 30 inchers with a light anti-glare coating until Dell's exclusive on the LG 6th generation 30" panel expires.
Just about every 30" display available today uses LG's 5th generation LM300WQ5 panel. All have the same strong anti-glare coating. The Dell U3011 is probably as good as any other LM300WQ5 panel.
The Dell U3014 is the first 30" display with LG's 6th generation LM300WQ6 panel, which features a...
Yes, by poor, I meant a heavy AG coating. The AG coating is just like that on the Dell U2410 and U2711 monitors, if you are familiar with those.
At this time, there is only one 30" consumer monitor on the market with a semi-glossy screen (light AG coating), and that is the Dell U3014...
From what I recall, the Nixeus Vue 30" uses a lower-graded version of the LG LM300WQ5-SDA1 panel found in the Dell U3011. That panel has a matte screen and a rather poor anti-glare coating.
Eventually, we should see 30" displays based on the semi-glossy LM300WQ6-SLA1 panel found in the Dell...
Dell said A02 fixes the scanning issue and sets the Smart Video Enhance mode to Off as a default. One may or may not have anything to do with the other.
Any word on a new revision of the U3014 that will fix the hardware defects (i.e., http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19502072.aspx, http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19507654.aspx) discussed earlier on this forum and elsewhere?
Many corporations and federal agencies require the use of a smart card (i.e., an identification card) to gain access to a network. This is a security measure.
Most laptops now have built-in smart card readers, but many desktops do not. A built-in smart card reader eliminates the need for an...
For those with large hands that prefer to "palm" their mouse, what are you using now?
My last MX1100 just died and I thought I might try something new.
Just to add to cre3d's experience, I had no difficulty installing WHS 2011 directly to an Intel 40GB SSD yesterday. I used the following cfg.ini:
The installation took about 11.5GB of the 37.2GB partition, excluding the swap file.
With DirecTV's DVR, you can record multiple HD channels simultaneously without any degradation in quality. DirecTV's latest generation of DVRs (HR-24) offer good performance / responsiveness unlike the previous generation (HR21/HR22/HR23).
By building your own, you limit yourself to recording...
It is a good router, but it is also a bit dated. Better performing routers are available. See:

http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/lanwan/router-charts/bar/76-total-simul
What is the size of the WHS 2011 boot partition?
I would like to know the minimum SSD size necessary to install WHS 2011 using the CFG.INI CheckReqs=0 parameter. I have heard that 60GB may be the minimum, but I want to confirm. I intend to use other drives for backup/shared storage, as...
Apple previously offered such functionality with MobileMe, which was a pay service. With iCloud, it is free. Many (most?) people just used Gmail, which offered much of the same functionality -- email, contact, calendar sync -- for free. iCloud is Apple's response to Google's free cloud-based...
No. As yet, there are no Internet-based television services.
You can purchase new episodes of your favorite shows from a service like iTunes (via AppleTV) or Amazon. Alternatively, you can obtain a CableCard from your cable company to use in conjunction with a PC CableCard tuner like the...
jadams,
You can get the HTC Trophy (or HTC Arrive on Sprint, HTC HD7 on TMobile) for one cent. More information here.
Personally, I would wait a few more months. The first dual-core WP7 models (along with the next iPhone) are expected in September. I don't think a second core is necessary...
Ashton,
The A5-based "IPhone 4GS" is what developers (and Sprint testers) have today. Although it is just my opinion, I highly doubt that internal name will remain for the released product. Apple will sell far more of the phone if they call it "IPhone 5."
You can record HD from FiOS to a NAS, but you can't do it using the FiOS DVR. See below.
Verizon's Motorola DVR is set to enable 5C on virtually all cable channels (regardless of the CCI bit), rendering CapDVHS unusable.
Unless something has changed recently, Snowknight's proposed method won't...
I have both calibrated and I do not concur.
I do not play games so I wouldn't notice the input lag, but in day-to-day use (programming, animation), I find the U2410 equal to, or better than, the U2311H.
My U2410 (Rev A01) arrived yesterday. The Service menu reported just over 24 hours of display time, so I suspect Dell reset that timer prior to shipment. There are 0 dead pixels.
Screen size alone doesn't matter. It is the combination of screen size and viewing distance that determines whether you see a difference between SD and HD resolution.
You can easily test for yourself -- simply set your Blu-ray player to output 480p resolution instead of 1080p resolution...
Right. The original email said RealSSD, but they've since posted this message on their site:
IMO, it isn't worth the risk for the older, slower M225 series.
