My PVR 250 is not an MCE version and it passes audio data over the pci bus.

Mine is great, way better than my AIW Radeon.

That depends on the drive. There are slimline slot loads with the connector both ways.

Connect to it with hyperterminal and see if any data is coming in.

That's irrelevant. These projectors are meant to be hooked to a pc. Which every major graphics card made now has some form of color adjustment which can be made to compensate. This usually isn't much of a problem anyway.

Might as well put a quarter and dollar bill validator on the side so you can save for new bulbs. :) Have it run for 7.5 hours for a dollar and you'd be set :)

Bull. You can get much better quality than an X1. And you can build it for a lot less than $600.

Well if you buy from lumenlab then yeah it's $20, but you can find out all you need to know from the diyaudio forums. And if you're resourceful you can build a very nice projector for much less. The results are amazing. None of that build a box around your tv shit. Frodo
