Don't bother with the second card. You have to enable surround to game on multiple screens. The card can drive 4 screens. There's no appreciable difference in performance unless surround is on.
I've got a 2600k and I can't even imagine in being remotely worth an upgrade yet. In the past my CPU's only lasted me about a year or 2 before I'd be ready to get something new and shiny.
This CPU has been an absolute beast!
I've built systems with 3570k and 3770k CPU's, 4670k and 4770k...
That's a pretty hefty overclock, likely above average.
I don't know how different the 2500k is vs my 2600k, but my chip runs stable at 4.65 with a slight bclk bump. and 46 multi.
I had to do plenty of tweaking, and slight voltage boost to obtain that.
No matter what I do, it won't run...
Man that brings back some memories
Athlin 800 was my first OC'd system. It was basically the same as the 700. Same ceiling too.
Athlon XP 2500 Barton was the next.
Then I jumped to an Athlon X2 3800 which I promptly upgraded to a GO stepping Q6600.
Got that beast up to 3.2Ghz on my...
I am building a new watercooled media center/ steam box.
Current parts include
i5 4670k
Asus Maximus VI Impact
-bitspower waterblock to be ordered
240GB Sandisk Extreme
Corsaid Vengeance Pro 2x4GB DDR3 1600
Gigabyte GTX750ti
Silverstone Raven RVZ01
Silverstone ST45SF-G 450W
Currently...
If it was that big if a deal, all cards would come with one.
They do make the cards more rigid, but it really shouldn't be an issue unless you plan to put a water block on it.
I've got 2 760s. one with a backplate. the other without. I find the backplate to be a pain when it comes to taking...
Thanks for the review. I have an X99-A on the way. It should be here this week.
Looking forward to playing around with it, we've got a 5820k and it will be hooked up to a full loop. I'm glad not jumping to the Deluxe wasn't a bad call.
I bought in. Or rather I convinced my girlfriend to buy one. She was planning to build a photoshop/3dstudio/premiere computer, so it fit perfectly.
got her a 5820k.
waiting for the watercooling equipment before overclocking, but I'll post up benchmarks once I do.
why would it be 8GB max?
I'm pretty sure I had 16GB in my Q6600 system
sorry, no suggestion for a board. Anything for that socket would be quite old, and most certainly used.
haven't had a chance to play with DDR4 yet (it's in the mail) so i can't speak with experience.
However I can say that memory speed does play a decent part in newer games. I just completed a series of benchmark test with 8GB, 2x8GB and 4x8GB of the same DDR3 1600 ripjaw.
No games made and...
That has to be a mistake.
There's no way that an i5 wouldn't be good enough. There are so few i7s out there compared to i5s and i3s that they would be severely gimping their install base.
Good question. 3.5 years ago, the answer was no, it doesn't really make a difference.

maybe it's time for [H] to revisit this topic.
If you plan on upgrading to a 1080p screen in the next year or 2, then get the 760 for sure!
At your resolution you won't actually need a 760. That being said, next years games might be a different story.
Always get the best card you can afford. It will last longer, and therefore cost you less...
i just upgraded from 2 GTX 560 tis in SLI (these are the 1GB non 448 version) to a GTX 770 SC from EVGA with the ACX cooler.
I can say with experience, a single 770 is NOT going to cut it for you. It is an impressive card, but I'm thinking about returning it for 2 GTX 760s. The single 770 is...
That was never a fact. It was a projected road map from several years ago.
It's not ready for market. Deal with it.
NVidia hasn't screwed you at all. Had they released an unfinished architecture and charged you for it, then they would have screwed you.
You haven't listened to a word...
Why are you so hung up on getting a maxwell card? We literally don't know anything about these cards at all. You're getting mad over a fantasy that didn't pan out.
I'm really not sure what it is you expect. You currently run what is truly ancient tech in the video card word. When the 600...
it really depends what you consider acceptable.
you should be able to tweak the settings to get acceptable framerates, but maybe not totally maxed out.

tech of tomorrow did a quick review comparison of the 770, 680 and 670 at 1440p
Considering nVidia isn't letting card makers put more than 3GB on the 780s, I really don't think that will be the case. They wouldn't gimp the card like that if they thought there was a good chance of needing that memory soon.
I really don't see 4GB ever being necessary on this generation...
Jose, there's a great article done by good 'ol HardOCP about 4GB GTX670s. Their conclusion was that you need more power to make the extra memory worth it. Essentially unless you are running tri-sli, there's not enough power in those cards to make it usefull. You also rarely ever need more than...
Early rumors are just that. rumors.
nothing is ever official until nVidia tells the world.
That being said, it shouldn't be that long now.
videocardz.com has june/july as their guess. I'd say the end of the month sounds right. There was one card on the computex floor so they are just...
are you really seeing slowdown with 4 670s?
Titan's are much faster, but I'd be surprised if 2 of them is noticeably faster than your 4 cards.
780's might be more cost effective, but you might notice the loss of 1GB of memory.
Re-read what I wrote.
Gtx770 with reference coolers didn't got to retail. The card you linked is a custom cooler put on by galaxy.
The OP wants to get a reference cooler from the Titan ( ie: vapour chamber).
The chances of that happening on a 770 are slim to nil. The OP wants it on a...
760 ti will have the same cooler that came with the gtx680 and gtx670 last year.
Only 10,000 gtx770 cards were produced, and none of them made it to retail. They all went to reviewers and to system builders like ibuypower. Give up on that dream, you won't get one, even for a premium.
The...
I doesn't pay to be an early adopter, and it doesn't pay to wait for the next best thing.
Enjoy what's available today. You'll eventually get another new system and be able to experience those technologies.
Sata4 and DDR4 are not necessary to have a fast computer. Be excited for what they...
That's the most ridiculous answer I've ever read, and probably some of the worst advice I've ever read.
If you can't enjoy your games right now, then upgrade right now. Waiting a couple weeks for the next best thing makes sense. Waiting a whole year or more is just a waste of time.
Live...
You have a max budget of 200-250 for you video card but you're looking for a 4k monitor?
You do realize that a 32" 4K monitor is going to cost a LOT of money. It's going to be in the 2k+ price range.
Not only that, but you don't have a hope in hell running 4k resolution on a card like 760ti...
Even if it does, you will still have way better performance than you already have.
Your current card is probably holding back your right now anyway.
Bottlenecks are only something to worry about if the item you want to replace is already held back by something else.
If you had and old...
This thread is ridiculous... does no one have a memory beyond a couple posts?
The card pictured is probably the one that was talked about in an article posted yesterday.
It is a custom PCB and custom cooler. it was expected to be 499.

Still not seeing that as a problem.
This isn't the first time that a refresh is only just a higher clock speed and refinements to the core. It's most likely not going to be the last either.
If you already have a 670 and 20% more performance doesn't appearl to you, then keep it. This...
GTX470 came out on April 7th, 2010 - By my count that's 3 years and not quite 2 months.
GTX570 launched on Dec 7th 2010 - 2.5 years ago- This was roughtly 15 % more performance
GTX670 launched May 10, 2012 - 1 year ago - roughly 20% faster than 570 - A GTX680 is roughly 10% faster than that...
Has anyone seen anything in regards to this? If the reference cards are dual 6pin I'm sold.
I won't even have to redo my custom length cables. My 560ti cards have dual 6pin, so i didn't wire up the 7th and 8th pins when i built my system.
I still don't see the problem.
If you have a 600 series card keep it. It's not worth the upgrade, but you just saved yourself some money.
I have 500 series cards, like many other people. I held back because I didn't think a 680 at 450-500 was worth my money. Slightly faster and 400 bucks is...
For 300 dollars, that will be one hell of a value. 670s currently go for 100 more than that.
Everyone was saying that the 770 is just a 680, but its looking like it will actually be 10% faster at a lower price point.
The 760ti should be a similar if not better value.
Also, how do you figured...
Damn!
If this is true, I'm actually shocked. I really expected 450
