I've finally gotten tired of how heavy my old Thermaltake armor case is and I'm looking for something smaller. Any kind of small ATX gaming case would do.
The smaller and easier to transport the better. Has to fit 3 hard drives, 670 GTX, and my CPU cooler that's slightly taller than the...
So a few weeks ago I bought an Asus 670 DCU II Edition to compliment my new Overlockable Catleap Q270 120hz 1440p monitor. The card worked fine when I received it. Coming from a 480 it was a huge upgrade. I was running BF3 between 80-100 FPS with mostly everything on Ultra @ 1440p 120hz. Then...
I need a new 1TB or 2TB hard drive for my gaming PC. I'm looking for a fast and reliable drive that is still under warranty.
Willing to pay about $50.

I have a Yamakasi Q270 120hz Edition that should be on my desk very soon. But my current video card is a 480 GTX, which just won't cut it. I mostly play BF3, so getting over 60 FPS with one card, maxed out (minus AA), @ 2560x1440 will be difficult.
My understanding is that the Asus TOP Edition...
Just built my new system with the 2700k, ASRock Extreme3 Gen3, and Enermax T40-TA cooler. I used Antec Formula 7 thermal paste.
I used the motherboard auto overclocking to make the CPU run at 4.8 Ghz turbo boost. With the automatic overclocking the voltage sits at about 1.41 under load.
I'm...
Hey guys. Trying to decide on a good cooler to OC my i7 2700k.
Right now I'm between the open box Enermax ETS-T40-TA: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214024R
And the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
I've...
Hey guys, been a while. I recently snagged the i7 2700k from retail edge. Now I'm looking for a board to put it in.
I definitely want to get an aftermarket heatsink/fan for it and overclock the sucker. I need a good board that can support overclocking.
Also, any recommendations on which...
That's my question. I'm debating between getting a sound card for my new Z-5500 speakers, or using the onboard mobo optical connection.
I'm tight on cash so It'd have to be a cheaper card, around $80.
I've got an older MSI P6N with Realtek HD onboard (ALC888 chipset).
I'm...
Theres a ton of IE headphones out there and I really have no idea whats good.
I mostly want these for listening to music on my iphone so if its iphone compatible thats a plus but not a big deal (can just get the $1 adapter).
I had a pair of sennheiser cx 300s before and they were decent...
Right now I'm using a really cheap headset I got from Best Buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7714093&st=computer+headset&lp=10&type=product&cp=1&id=1138086684198
It looks like that but has headphones on both sides as opposed to only one.
I listen to music (trance/techno) and...
I just bought this mouse from BestBuy for $40. I was upgrading from an optical IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0
Do you guys think I made the right choice?
I'd like to have the best mouse for my new gaming rig that costs around $40.
I can still return it so I'd like feedback.
I recently bought an 8800GTS 640MB comming from a 6600GT. Should be here Friday.
I'll OC it a little.
My question is with all these new AA and AF options, if I want the the highest quality what should I do?
I don't really know what the best AA and AF mode are since there are many now (ex...
A lot of people are experiencing blurring/stretching and bad resolution when using a 1440x900 monitor and an 8800GTS: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=21993&st=0
The fix can be found there but here it is:
1. NVIDIA Control Panel > Display > Manage custom timings.
2. Click both...
I just ordered a brand new system.
I ended up getting an AC Freezer 7 pro to cool my e4300.
I also got a Cooler Master Blue Ice Pro to cool the NB on my MSI P6n SLI-FI.
Should I take off the stock thermal paste pre-applied on the AC Freezer and put AS5 on it?
Also should I put AS5 on the NB?
In about 1-2 weeks I plan to build my new system which will probably include an MSI P6N-FI mobo and e4300 that I will OC. As well as an 8800GTS.
I want to get 2GB DDR2 800 with the best possible performance for around $100 (including rebates).
Here are some I am considering but I am open to...
So the 2900 is a flop. After sitting in a corner shuddering and sobbing I accepted the undeniable truth: that I could get a 8800GTS 640MB for $70 less than the 2900.
It would perform just as well or better.
So now I'm looking at newegg I see three brands for the almost the exact same price...
According to the Inquirer the 2900XT is better than the 8800GTS 640MB: http://theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=39580
Also the 2900 is cooler than the 8800s.
They say with better drivers the 2900XT could come close to a stock 8800GTX.
In a couple weeks I plan to build a whole new system.
I intend to buy:
Intel e4300 or e6300 core 2 duo
nvidia 8800 GTS or AMD HD 2900XT
2 gigs DDR2 800 ram (G.Skill)
and most likely a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 rev3
The case I have and will keep is a Thermaltake Armor VA8000BWS full tower...
