Hey All,
Not sure if this is supposed to be here or not, but I am looking to purchase a Windows 10 Pro key if anyone knows someone here selling them.
Thanks

So. I am trying to find what MBs would work for me and not break the bank.
I just don't know where to start really. I don't think I need or am asking for a whole lot. What i need is a MB that will allow pretty simple things.
Intel 12700
(2) MAYBE (3) m.2 drives
(2) sata SSDs
64gb of DDR4...
I am trying to find something similar to a GTX1070 8gb card, but everything is over $300 for used cards. I am looking to use this for a PC for a virtual golf build which is graphics card dependent. If anyone is familiar with Trackman 4 for golf simulators here is the link to the website for...

So I just built my new 9900k rig. I haven't even gotten to overclock it yet (i was going to do a MILD overclock for running Premiere Pro). Well I just did a RealBench stress test and I hit 82C with NO overclock on a Aorus Master Z390 board at all AUTO settings. DS15 and 3 case fans running...
I don't have much.
Aorus Master MB
9900k
Noctua DS15
EVGA 650P2
EVGA 1060 6gb
(2) nvme drives
(1) 860 Evo
(1) WD Black 4tb Sata
That's it. I don't need RGB or clear case or anything fancy. Just a nice case to keep it cool (I live in FL), VERY mild OC,
Any thoughts on a case? Cheaper is...
Can you use both LAN AND Wifi at the same time to increase speeds when attached to the router? Is it one or the other?
How would I use both at the same time? Does it even make sense?
Thanks

SO. I bought a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master MB. It has (3) NVME slots. It seems they are all PCIe x1 slots though. I thought they were supposed to be x4 to give me the fastest data speeds. What am I missing?
Also: 2 of the 3 slots are Full length 110mm with heat spreaders that are 110mm...
So I am looking for a board for my 9900k I just purchased.

I will go with the mildest overclock that is super...
I CAN wait until next week, but my current setup reboots every 3 hours. I swapped the PSU and same thing. I don't have other parts to test everything. Plus this old build is pretty slow in editing video so I need something soon anyway.
Here is the new build...
How would I go about finding this? I have a ssd that is about 5 years old (256gb) and just wondering if this is something I can find out.
Thanks

I am still debating between the 8700k and the 9900k., but wanted to see what is realistic (since I know the price goes up with cooling and MB when you want to overclock.
So..I want longevity.. I don't mind a super stable overclock (as long as it's easy to obtain), but want to keep this around...
I am trying to figure out the real cost for these 2 CPUs with proper coolers. I don't really plan to OC at all, but if it's super simple and wont hurt longevity I will within reason..
So what coolers would each of those CPUs need to maintain decent temps?
Can I get by with an EVO 212 for the...
So.. I am needing a new PSU and my old rig is getting on it's last legs.. so I am going to build something with the specs above..
Is the EVGA Supernova 650 P2, 80+ Platinum 650W something that will handle this? I only plan on doing a super low end OC if anything at all..
Would this work?
Thermaltake TOUGHPOWER 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Semi Modular Power Supply PS-TPD-0750MPCGUS-1
Would that be a good ps for
8700k
1070
32gb ram
(2) m. 2 drives
2 ssds
1- 4tb hd
?
Thanks

SO I have a rig that is decent at best. It's older for sure. (i5-4570 @3.2ghz, 32gb ram, GTX650). I am getting into video editing now though using Premiere Pro.. (nothing crazy, but I would like to spend what I have to in order to not be bottlenecked).
So I am thinking of this: (I DO NOT...
I am building I THINK a rig with the following. It's for video editing / Photoshop / Lightroom ONLY. NO Gaming AT ALL.

MOBO - Suggestions please.
Fan to go with CPU - Still unsure. 212 Evo perhaps?

So before I get bashed.. I can buy this Dell and pay for a 5 year warranty, then my credit card will give me another 2 years after that of warranty on the whole thing.
Here's the Dell...

I am in no real rush to buy a NVME drive right now. I will have to buy one in the next 3 months at some point (my business gets busy beginning of April and I will want one by then).
I know no one can predict the future, but maybe you guys have some insights...
My question. Do you see any...

Any ideas on a really stable board for using m.2 and must have a thunderbolt connection ability. I don't mind buying an add-in card, but I can't find a way to get thunderbolt to my current windows machine, hence why I need a new motherboard.
I also need 64gb of ram ddr4 slots.

So I bought all the components for a build in my last thread
M.2 Samsung drive

I didn't get a power supply (I forgot to order one... I know....) So i went to best buy and got a Corsair CX850 modular one. It was the best I could find...

This is a Video Editing Rig only.. No Gaming. Thoughts? As some suggested the Xeon I just don't want to worry about server pulls and I doubt the company wants used equipment so therefore I should buy new.
Anything I am missing?
I noticed that the 2400...

A little confusing on the title I am sure, but let me explain.
I CAN wait if necessary for a few months (Sept/Oct when Skylake comes out - which i don't know if it will benefit me).
I am NOW getting into VIDEO production in a serious way so my machine seems slow and is hiccupping a bunch...
So I currently have a GTX680 (not sure of the clock speed or anything) with 1gb ram.
I am a photographer and was only doing photo work, but now have ventured into the world of video.. Rendering takes a long time, but I am not sure if it's the GPU or Processor that is the problem.
I am...
I have a Artic Cool Master fan from my older Q6600 build. I was wondering if this fan would fit on the i5 4570 and MB that i just purchased.
I thought it probably wouldn't but was sure you guys would know better than I would.
Thanks

Hello Hardforum:..
I posted a thread about a build back in July, but have been traveling and never got around to getting anything. NOW I have sold my current rig and need something in the next WEEK or TWO at the latest.
Here is what I posted last time:
Current build:
Q9300 @ 2.5...
After reading through this forum and WOW thanks for the advice in there http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1769231
Current build:
Q9300 @ 2.5, Silencer 750 Black PS (4yrs old), 8Gb G Skill Ram 4x2gb, ATI Radeon 2600 PRO, Antec Gigabyte DS3P MB,
1) What will you be doing with this...
I saw both of these monitors pretty cheap at Best Buy, so i thought I would ask.
IF I calibrated it with a color calibration puck and software do you think it would be pretty good for photo editing? Photoshop work? I DO NOT play ANY GAMES.. and it's strictly for Photo work.
OR do I...
Hey Guys.. You helped me out with my last build.. Almost 4 years ago. And now I need something a little more for my new system. I am going to be getting into a little light video editing (Possibly RESOLVE, or an Adobe Product).. but right now I use Photoshop CS5 and upgrading to CS6 very...
I have a budget of about $2400.. I do NOT want a MBP. I have been trying to find something, but everything is just big..
I am looking for something fast (photoshop is a hog)
Big screen (16+ is great)
REALLY good calibration possibilities
Weight is NO concern.. I dont care how heavy it...
SO I am trying to figure out how to update this BIOS, since it's from the original purchase and I want to see about overclocking.
Is it true that I can ONLY update this BIOS via a Floppy Boot Disk? I looked on the website under specification...
So i now have a nice little overclock going, but a few issues *maybe they are*
I tried to run the ram multiplier at 2.0 and it wouldn't boot. SO I put it to AUTO (says 960 in BIOS) which is 2.4 I believe and it works fine. IS this a big deal?
Can I put ANY Number in the FSB settings...
So i am TOTALLY NEW to overclocking, but it seems that might be a nice way to get some more speed out of my system instead of buying a new CPU.
I have a Gigabyte DS3P and the Q9300. I use a HD2600 Pro video card and just ordered 2 kits of G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800...
