News out of Computex is that a whole ton of partners have signed on to provide Chroma platform integration/support. Q4 is the window provided for when we'll start to see third-party Chroma integration.
Here's the list:
- AMD
- MSI
- Thermaltake
- LianLi
- Vertagear
- Ducky
- NZXT

So I need opinions and help finding reviews.
The Acer GF276 is on sale today at Best Buy in Canada for $199 CAD.
It's a 27" 1080p TN panel with 1ms response and support for Freesync (47-75Hz range).
Trouble is I can't find really any decent reviews on this monitor! I'm super tempted to jump...
Heh.. "wow box"
So my now decrepit Phenom II X2 system from ~2011 has been on life support for a few years as my wife's battlestation, and it's time for an upgrade to the guts.
Thanks to Black Friday sales I was able to get a Ryzen 3 1200, MSI B350M Gaming Pro board and Cooler Master...
Anyone else concerned about the complete lack of info/leaks regarding Vega 56 AIB custom cards? I mean the Asus Strix card was leaked like three weeks ago and since then, absolutely nothing.
They're supposed to be available near the end of the month, and that's close enough that there should be...
So here in Canada the (custom) 480s and 1060s kind of overlap on pricing due to weird inflation, taxation, border fees, etc. etc.
Given this, which is the better card? They seem to trade blows in most reviews.
I scored P14 461 in 3DMark 11 Performance
Pretty damned impressive for a $199 card. This is about equal to or ever so slightly higher than an average 970 or 390.
The results would be comfortably VR capable too.
Going just by this synthetic benchmark, we've got a card that is 40% cheaper at...
Sauce: Rumor: Polaris validation Failed Might Launch in October Now
Apparently the rumour states that the GPU can't hit anything over 850MHz. I really hope this one is off-base, if only because NVidia needs pressure to keep their pricing in check.
If [H]ers have purchased this mobo, I'd love to hear about your experiences and thoughts regarding it.
Also, if anyone finds any review links I'd be very interested in them.
Hoping to find some clarification on this.. there's a price difference of almost $80 (Canadian) but literally the only difference according to the compare on Gigabyte's website is that the GT model has the thunderbolt controller instead of just the USB3.1 controller from Intel.
I find it hard...
Here it is! the first review from a respectable source - Chinese site DGLee. I'll link the WCCFTech article, which translates from the original chinese. I'm guessing timezones played a factor here.
http://wccftech.com/intel-skylake-core-i7-6700k-cpu-review-processor-gaming-performance/...
Techspot has just posted some really great reading. They benchmarked a decade's worth of Intel CPUs.
http://www.techspot.com/article/1039-ten-years-intel-cpu-compared/
So the first report of an OC on a 6700k has popped out from a hardware design company in Hong Kong. They're reporting an OC from the stock turbo speed of 4.2GHz to 5.2GHz, with an air cooler and only 1.35v.
If the actual OCs are even in this ballpark, a lot of enthusiats are going to be...
According to BenchLife (who have been reliable in the past on Intel rumours):
http://benchlife.info/intel-skylake-s-platform-will-release-z170-and-6700k-6600k-in-aug-5th-07062015/
They claim to have a roadmap showing a hard announce and release date of August 5th for both the -k CPUs and the...
It's all over the interwebz this morning, but Intel has confirmed an August/September release for the i5-6600k and i7-6700k.

Anyone else have their upgrade cash ready to go? :D
Find it at the sweet sweet linkage: http://wccftech.com/intel-broadwell-cpus-i5-5675c-i7-5775c-oem-listed/
Official slides with info on Broadwell desktop chips, mostly centred on the EU and memory.
Also, official announcement (in a new Roadmap) of Skylake 6700k and 6600k.
Ran across a DigiTimes article this morning saying that motherboard manufacturers have been officially advised by Intel that Skylake and the associated 100 series chipset are being pushed back to the end of August.

Found this today while looking for Broadwell/Skylake news :D
http://wccftech.com/amd-godavari-apu-lineup-leaked-a108850k-lead-pack-12-apus-planned-summer-2015/
Apparently there's a Kaveri refresh coming, with a new flagship A10-8850k APU. R7 onboard, could make a decent HTPC option.
Found this today:
http://chinese.vr-zone.com/141850/intel-will-make-14nm-broadwell-first-after-launch-skylake-s-for-desktop-diy-market-01302015/
There's an interesting Intel roadmap (supposedly) that shows Broadwell as a mid-Q2 launch, with Skylake launching around Computex.
The best...
So I'd like to run an EVGA GX 560 Ti 448 Classified Ultra with a VX550.
Meets the min. specs, but not sure about the actual connector count. The gpu comes with a few adapters though, I just thought I'd double check with people smarter than I am about compatibility.
The psu has 2x 6-pin...
