Anyone currently using an Intel card in a Linux build? I’ve heard they are very Linux friendly and am putting together a new build as a secondary machine. Was thinking about going with an all Intel machine. Wondering how others have fared here.
Hoping to hear some logical third party thoughts here.
A year or so ago, I took advantage of the mining craze and sold of my 5700xt, which caused me to have to downgrade from a 2700X to a 3200G as a CPU.
Figuring I'd wait it out until I got the itch, this continues to serve me well...
Loved both of these devices, but w/ remote work life and a new tablet on the way, they are just surplus at this point. Both adult owned and used.

I built a new system this past weekend (thread here )
When I ran Firestrike, my video score kept coming in quite a bit lower than anticipated. Now, I am experiencing random shutdowns when I benchmark. These are full crashes to reboot and in a few...
I am sure my story is not uncommon. I used to build a new system every year. Seven years ago, I built this i7-2600k machine and haven't had a reason to upgrade. Yet...

So I randomly hit up Ebay to see about a cheap and unnecessary upgrade this morning. I was considering testing Crossfire w/ my HD7950.
It appears my card, the Gigabyte Windforce HD7950 3gb is fetching more of a premium now. I see that some listings say Mac Pro compatible.
Is this just...

Quieter,Cooler, Lower Power Consumption and better performance than my HD7950
The time has come to upgrade my PC. The 2600k is going to find a new home.
Since I am upgrading motherboard and CPU, it seems fitting that this GPU moves on as well since it is loud and underperforms. As of this...
I have had this system running a 2600k since the month the processor was available.
I used to build a new system every fall for kicks. Since I built this one, I have been looking for reasons to upgrade, but I game less and this thing has been fine for working over my VPN to the office and...
I am currently running a Radeon HD7950 3gb.
The main reason I want to upgrade is efficiency and noise.
As long as the card has even a modicum of improvement performance-wise, I am ok. I just want something quieter that pulls less power.
Does anyone have suggestions?
So I have a ton of files to move/copy in my attempt spring clean my hard drives and consolidate to higher capacity drives.
I know Windows' built in file manager stinks. What would you guys and gals suggest as a good replacement?
After a winter where I blew a breaker every time I tried running my PC, space heater and plasma tv simultaneously, I have decided to finally build a new PC to replace my 2600k system with something more efficient.
Knowing that I want to upgrade performance over the 2600k and Radeon 7950 3gb...

Looking for something that will let me run Android 4.x on it OR a hotspot to throw in my bag for my tablets.
Who has what to sell?
One of my monitors finally died yesterday so I get to replace one. I have been eyeing some 2560x1440 models and a question hit when I saw the 2560x1080 by LG.
I know it can't be this simple, but if I had a 2560x1080 side by side with a 1920x1080 would it solve the issue of crosshairs being...
Just replaced my 560ti w/ a Gigabyte HD7950.
For giggles I did a final run on 3d Mark 06 before I uninstalled the 560ti and scored 24000.
I then installed the 7950 and scored 27400. Is this a normal result? Is 3dMark 06 even relevant anymore?
Bought this 2 weeks ago. Then bought a Galaxy Note 2, so this thing has been on the bench for week two of ownership.
It's in pristine condition aside from the outer box of the packaging (Google Nexus 7 unboxing videos if you want to see why).
Will also include this dock (...
I just impatiently went to the Verizon store and picked up a new phone by setting up a dummy line. It was cheaper than paying full price for the phone (which I went there w/ full intention of doing).
Now I have an extra line on my family plan that I wouldn't mind tossing a cheap Android...
I recently "upgraded" to Apple TV 3 for the 1080p goodness.
I never felt the need to jailbreak this, as I don't really need anything beyond what the ATV offers stock.
I realize that the ATV2 is becoming sort of sought after. I was going to drop it on Ebay today, but will offer it here...
I recently upgraded my Apple TV 2 box to an ATV3 based solely on wanting full HD on my office TV. I was about to list my ATV2 on Ebay and noticed that they are fetching more than what I paid for my new ATV3.
Is this due to jailbreak-ability? What am I missing?
