I'm currently running an i7-8700K bone stock with an old 212+. For whatever reason I did not feel like replacing the 212 when I built the new system last year, but now I've got the itch. I don't have a drive to overclock, just would like to bring CPU temp down if possible.
I get the impression...

I got an EVGA 2080 XC Ultra for $550 on amazon warehouse deals. It showed artifacts right away, and I'm trying to decide whether I should:
Return to Amazon for refund, get my $550 back but have to pay $100-150 more at least to get a working 2080
RMA to EVGA, get a working 2080, but may be some...

I recently installed an Asus P5N-D motherboard as my previous Intel P965 vanilla motherboard was beggining to die. After reinstalling windows 7 and doing the update/reboot/update again dance a few times, I put the computer to sleep. It starts to cycle down, there is a momentary blink in my case...
Anybody else feel like the computer deals available have been on the meh side lately? I guess the fact that there's no major component I'm wanting to upgrade could have something to do with it. It just feels like sellers have given up on using low prices to induce reluctant consumers to buy.
BFG 8800GT, mild factory overclock at 625 Mhz on the shaders. Sadly, the original box got lost when I moved, I do still have the dongles it came with though. Looking for $85 + ship. PM if interested please.
So I just got my EVGA GTX 260 in and installed it. Everything seems peachy, it runs cooler than my 8800GT did, the fan is not as loud, it looks beautiful, and I can run Crysis Warhead at 1920 by 1200.
However, I started dinking around with overclocking it, and found that when I run ATI tool's...
So, I have an opportunity to pick up an all copper Zalman 9500 at work on the cheap. My question is will this be an improvement over the stock quad core cooler for a Q6700? I know sometimes older or smaller coolers won't work as well on newer designs, and just wanted to get some other opinions.
I use Rivatuner on a regular basis, but I've been told it's vram monitoring function doesn't work with Vista, because they changed something....Anybody know a good way to monitor vram in Vista in game? I'd prefer a program that'd display on my G15 LCD, though I could put it on my second monitor...
Ive got a buddy who had this cooler in a drawer and never used it. He has an AM2 system, and I was unable to find anyone selling the Revision C AM2 retention modules for the cooler, so I thought I'd buy it and use it for my Q6700 system. Can anyone give me a good reason not to? I know it's a...
I have a friend with an Asus M2N32 mobo and a 3500+ processor. He recently upgraded to an 8800GT graphics card and 3 gigs of RAM. PSU is 620 Enermax Liberty.
I was wondering if it would be possible for him to upgrade to a phenom with a BIOS flash. If not, I was thinking a 6000+ X2 or 6400+...
