while i would like a screen bigger than 27" too, i'm becoming a PPI snob now... 27" 4K are 167 PPI i think. it's all yester-decade once you get to 100 PPI imo
Any recommendations that I should be shopping for if the Apple cinemas are a favorite? I'm not sure if I love gloss or just hate grainy coating that much more, but I do love the resolution and the colors (whites are white). The only thing I don't like about them is the thick bezel.
Must...
iShadow makes something called "virtual desktop manager" for $35. I'm curious how it works, but I have not got my setup stable enough to even have the problem you have.
it's mostly for chart and spreadsheet analysis with monitors dedicated to certain things. stock trading stuff. I also want to game occasionally, but it doesn't have to be on all 6 displays. 2 or 3 is fine for me.
since i don't care about gaming on 6 screens, i might just get a single high...
the only thing i was worried about with those workstation cards (besides the price) is the gaming. i'd like to be able to play games too... just cod and swtor though.
i just ordered some cheap 6 x mini dp card. we'll see how that does
for those who were able to daisy chain 3 monitors (or more) which video card and driver are you using? Spent the last few days on this and got nothing. If i did get it to chain the mouse stuttering was so terrible it wasn't practical for real use.
I've tried a couple different graphics cards now and can't seem to get this done. It's 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
The displays are Dell U2414H.
Graphics cards I've tried: Diamond HD 7770, currently Asus 290X.
I'm going in endless circles enabling and disabling Display port 1.2 in order to...
Any recommendations for a video card to drive 6 of these?
The primary use will be desktop/windows where I need to be able to maximize windows on each screen (for stock charts, spreadsheets etc..). I also want to game occasionally.. just COD, Battlefield and SWTOR.
Can I daisy chain the...
After searching for this for the past couple days all I found was this video using a Club3d MST hub. I guess that works, but not enough info to get me to buy both.
Thanks. I'm going to give it a try then. My only concern is that it might downgrade or disable one of the ports if I use them all. My monitors are 24" Dell U2414H which all have DP and HDMI, so I'm thinking I should be good to go if I use DVI to HDMI adapters. The monitors themselves actually...
anyone know of a place to order the power supply still? the taobaobee.com link didn't work for me.
is this the right "power board"?
edit - part arrived within a couple weeks. just installed this and my monitor is working again. took about 1 hour from finding tools to completely cleaned up.
are these a good option for someone who primarily does MS Word, Powerpoint and web research? What about creating content with Adobe products?
These are on my shortlist for a laptop replacement, but I like the idea of these hybrids and getting a dock with dual monitors at the desk.
Anyone...

heatware: leftheaded
used from August 2008 to January 2010. i was running 2 of these in SLI and RMA'd the other in Jan 2010. EVGA sent me GTX 285 so I put the one here...
the lag was never a problem for me playing cod4 and i played a lot (4+ hours a day for well over a year). i am good and i played on a pretty skilled server - consistently with my name on top of leaderboards and positive KDR.. pulling off the occasional 4:1 ratio and still leading the points...
whoever sold it on ebay probably got an RMA from dell and just sold the replacement. idk if dell ships refurbs for that purpose? i'd expect a seller to disclose that it's an RMA replacement if that's the fact.
which revision is it? it's probably fine as long as you have the full warranty...
ok so, one caveat to anyone considering this monitor....
the anti-glare coating is really distracting imo (especially on light colors). i cannot recommend this display to anyone who pixel peeps or scrutinizes for super sharp clarity. i spent the first few weeks trying to wipe the damn screen...
i play cod4 like its my job with ~40 ping & fps pegged at 125. i finish on top often. if a faster monitor would help, i imagine it would only improve your kdr. if you're good, you can compete with this monitor... take it with a grain of salt... you might be picky or pro idk :)
the only reason to get 30" is for the 2560x1600. the main reason not to get one is the hard anti-glare coating they put on them. my dell is terrible... i'd never recommend a monitor like this to anyone who wants sharp, crisp & clean detail. if i could do it over i'd try the nec LCD2690WUXi
I bought this from someone here at [h] about a month ago, but it was impulsive and I don't plan to overclock for a while. I was going to swap with my Q6600 and sell the quad but i don't even want to swap a CPU right now lol
Note: this is an ES chip.
$200 shipped conus only
This thing is in excellent condition. Comes in box with everything like new. I got it from newegg this summer and only used it for about a week. Just didn't work out for me.
$35 shipped (conus)
$25 local pickup (bay area)
I'll ship first if you have great heatware/feedback.

alright cool. i'm going to sell the 3008WFP and get something else. maybe the 3007WFP-HC? i really like large, high res displays... 1920, 24" is as small as i would go
it's definitely a nuisance in cod4. when i play on servers with kill cam enabled i always feel like they were "ahead" of me when i watch the replay. it's like their screen saw me, before my screen saw them. i'm not talking about visual reaction time. it literally looks like the time/events...
my monitor (3008WFP) has lag and i'm trying to figure out if it really matters. is monitor lag absolute or is it something you can compensate for?
i'm not sure how to explain what i'm thinking
if a game i play says it averages 100fps, do i net 97fps assuming my display has 3fps of lag? and if so, is that equal to 97fps from some other rig with a monitor that has 0 lag?
good idea. that should help the pressure part.. thanks. the other problem is the actual contact with the tops of my ears. i noticed the padding was compressed pretty bad right out of packaging.. maybe it will expand a bit.. idk.
hopefully they'll get more comfortable. thanks again
well, i just got my 900s about an hour ago and they are super uncomfortable
the padding isn't deep enough to keep the actual phones off my ears, so the hard part of the driver area (whatever that part is called) presses against my ears. it's like the padding isn't even there. and my ears...
you can refuse shipment and buy.com will give you 100% refund. even if you miss the opportunity to refuse, you can still RMA for 100% refund. you might be able to refuse by placing a note on your door if you cannot be home when delivery comes (probably depends on the carrier.. idk)
anyway...
