I am looking for an app or firefox plugin that will scan specific RSS feeds for certain keywords and if a match is found e-mail me. Anyone know of anything like this?
Hi all,
I get to go pick up two Asus R9 290's on Monday but I will need a monitor. I have been using my 42" 1920x1080 TV connected to my Asus laptop which has a 560m GPU for the last couple of years, before that it was an 8800 built into a different laptop. I have never been able to or wanted...
One thing I noticed, which is not very clear, is that yes, once you reach your "limit" in data, you still have data, just slower, EXCEPT for tethering. Once you hit your limit, you can't tether anymore until the next billing cycle starts.
I have noticed quite a few comments that mention that when comparing the same game between the PC and a console, that the PC version doesn't look a whole lot better then the console version, so we don't need newer/better consoles.
Well, that's exactly WHY we need better consoles. PC versions...
This looks very interesting, I am going to research it more.
Thank you all for your answers. And by the way, any data that I REALLY care about is backed up in a different location. I would hate to lose my movies and such, but I could always go through the hassle of encoding from my dvd's...
Is it possible to take my 4 drives and combine them so Windows just sees one large partition? I have 2 - 2 TB drives and 2 - 1.5TV drives and they are mostly full. I think I have about 100GB free on 2 or 3 of them. I'm running windows server 2008 and it's installed on a separate 500gb drive...
After I got my Galaxy S3, apparently I subscribed to Google+ because every time I took a picture, it would automatically upload via Google+. I never meant to use Google+, it was automatic.
Because they keep adding more content to their drive? I haven't bought any new drives in 2 years, currently at 7TB, and am running out of space again. I will probably buy two 3TB drives within a couple of months.
Common sense? I have been mostly lurking on these forums for years, mostly just bought online through Newegg or Amazon though, and this is the very first time I have heard of the term "Heat". I guess I have no common sense because I could have very easily made the same mistake.
Hi all. In the past I have used a free DNS service to point toward my home web server. I have a static IP, which my router uses and then assigns 192.168.x IP's to all computers on my network, including my web server. When I tried to install the DNS functionality on the web server it came up...
Speaking of how do I do the simplest things... I wanted to search my email messages in my browser on my PC. In the past I have typed my words into the search box, but instead of searching my emails, it searched the internet. A couple of days ago I spent 10 minutes looking for the box to search...
I just got a SG3, my old phone was a SG1. I was taking pictures with my phone and a few minutes later I get notification from Google+ saying something like my pictures were uploaded. WTF does that mean? I don't recall giving Google permission to upload my private pictures. Maybe by buying the...
This was my problem. All I have EVER wanted to do was join a raiding guild, but no one would ever give me a chance. I could never get geared for raids since I couldn't run them, so no one would let me try. I did manage to get in a guild once where I was an off tank, but half the time, half the...
I never finished the game, it was too nerve wracking because it was the same thing every two minutes, lights go off, so you know when they come back on, there is going to be a monster there. Not scary because it's not surprising, it just grinds on your nerves over time. It was stressful to...
It seems to me that unless you were running 3D, it would not matter. The ram would simply be accessed twice as often. If running 3d you would be rendering twice as much which would mean more ram (I would assume most objects would not need to be duplicated in memory).
I am constantly shutting the lid to access the keyboard for a different computer while im at work. Really sucks to have downloads interrupted or whatnot because your computer went to sleep on you.
I have an SSD and it boots in about 10 or 11 seconds to the windows logon screen, I don't mind...
I like shutting down because it's my laptop that I lug from home to work everyday. It's my primary computer and I am always changing internet connections, external monitors, misc USB devices I use for programming microcontrollers as I move it around. I set the power button to turn off the...
View and switch between running processes while in the metro screen using only the mouse? Also, how do I close a Metro app. It takes over the whole screen with no apparent way to get out of it, I can only alt-tab or alt-f4 it. I was also wondering how I can turn my computer off via the mouse...
I have a M510 which works great. That mouse seems to have poor reviews but I went ahead and bought one. Would be cool if the receivers worked with each other, If I could use either mouse with the same receiver, it would be one less thing I need to get out of my laptop bag when I want to use my...
Any thoughts on what the best phone will be come toward the end of July? I have a first generation Galaxy right now, and the speaker for external sound usually does not work. It's the second Samsung phone in a row I have had with hardware problems, so I am leaning away from Samsung at the...
Hi all. I just recently reinstalled Windows 7 and got all the updates and all my drivers installed and I was wondering if there was a utility that can save an image of my drive so next time I need to reinstall I can just boot off a CD or thumb drive and point it to the image file that resides...
Ok, I drew up a quick picture. When I originally responded to your post I was picturing a sata data cable in my mind, not the power connector. Also I didn't realize you want to know how much power each voltage was using, like 12v and 5v which is why I said to leave the colored wires and instead...
The way you measure current in a DC circuit is to break the connection, insert a resistor, and measure the voltage across the resistor. That is why in that link that Red Falcon posted there was a circuit board that you plug the drive and power supply into, there really is no way around that. You...
I am looking to build a HTPC to replace my quadcore Q6600 system that has 5 hard drives. Ideally I look to stick the quadcore system in a closet to act as a file/web/media server and use a quiet small system for actual playback.
I was not sure if the parts I chose are underpowered, I mostly...
You can take two 12v supplys and connect them in series. You just want to make sure that the grounds are seperate. If the negative outputs are connected to a metal chassis and they have a third prong on the plug that plugs into the outlet, there is a good chance that they will share the same ground.
I too am curious about what a good HTPC build is without going overkill.
I believe I have that same power supply, I know mine is an Antec EarthWatts green, however it may be a 420 watt version. It has worked great for the last 3 years or so. I bought it for my HTPC 3 years ago but after my...
I am finding this thread interesting. I have a Q6600 and upgraded from an GeForce 8800 to a Radeon 4890 (Newegg for 80.00 around black friday).
I was playing around with Skyrim, comparing my numbers to my brothers computer, he has a overclocked i5 and a GeForce 460.
My frame rates were about...
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a utility where I could choose an audio file and view and filter out the hum and noise from machinery and fans.
