Don't be scared. I've been running my 4090FE since lauch and I have zero sag and the thing is solid as hell. It's built better than almost all other 4090 offerings.
Prior to a reflow, try pressing the card down by the corner while the system is on. Not super hard, of couse, but enough to see some flex. It could reconnect a broken solder joint. If the fans kick on you know that's what it is. Long shot, but worth a shot. If you don't want to dig too deep and...
You could try installing MSI Afterburner and setting a fan percentage just to see if they turn on. Just set it to some percentage and see if anything happens. If nothing, double check that a wire didn't get pinched or something.
This is a fantastic keyboard. I have one full length and 2 TKL and it's a joy to use. One of the TKL's I use with a Corsair lap pad for my HTPC. It fits snug but works great!
Thats how Xbox Game Pass made me feel. When I first got it I was like I've spent over $400 on games that are offered. It wasn't worth it for me then but is now.
Between those 3, the 4060 namely because of your Shield use case. 6700xt won't allow you to stream so scratch that one. 4060 gets you the latest DLSS tech so if similarly priced to a 3060 it's a no brainer.
Why not just do it and swap out the chip later? You'll be able to recoup some of the chip cost later, but the platform upgrade will serve you for years to come. This is a substantial upgrade that will open up that 4090 for you. I'm a bad influence.
Wow, got my 4090 FE for MSRP last November. The fact that they're going up in price is insane. I've had that card for nearly a year. First time I ever bought top of the line. Glad I did.
I will not be upgrading anytime soon. This is the first time I ever bought the top of the line. Granted, I did get both a 4090 and a 7900XTX this last time but there is no reason to upgrade. If anything, my platform is holding the 4090 back so I'll probably get next gen AM5 rather than a GPU.
Swapped the thermal paste on my old laptop (Acer Predator Triton 500) with PTM9750 and the highest temp I've seen is 84C when previously it was hitting 100C quite regularly. Did I buy this Legion for nothing? Just kidding :)
Why would not allow it? :) I'm a huge fan of discussion and alternatives. That's why we're [H]ard! Also, it doesn't take a thing away from the deal I posted :P
Yeah. Aside from the resolution, hz, and gsync it really doesn't look a whole better to me than my Triton. And I'm spoiled with OLED's at home.
What do you plan to use this laptop for? Do you travel a lot? I ultimately succumbed because of the price and the fact that I don't use it THAT much...
It sounds like you have the itch to buy but the laptop in this thread is leaps and bounds better. Sure, the MSI has a 4080 but everything is last gen. The screen on this is 100% sRGB compliant and about 72% Adobe compliant. I'm not sure about NTSC. Check the review here. I REALLY wanted miniled...
Yeah, it's on a hardwood table so restriction shouldn't be the issue.
I'm amazed with the amount of hot air this thing pushes out though and the keyboard is barely warm to the touch during that. I'll look for reviews but I'm thinking it might be normal. The crashing is not, of course but that...
I'm seeing pretty high CPU temps and have experienced a few crashes with the Lenovo in Hogwarts but it could just be the game. It hits about 98C. Is this a normal temp? GPU doesn't exceed 80C.
This sounds like a Linus Tech Tips challenge. How do various builds react to temperature variances? Let's build the best possible machine for AZ dry heat! Sounds fun.
Got mine. Love it! Screen isn't any better than my previous machine but it's not bad in any way really. Amazing how much heat this thing evacuates while still being mostly cool on the keyboard. Very happy with the purchase! Games run flawlessly on it.
