I have used a Macbook with a GMA 950 inside and all HD videos I watched ran perfectly. I would assume yours should do slightly better considering Windows allows more memory to be allocated to the video card then OS X does.

Avoid the Macbooks anyway, they are plagued with problems, and for the money they are just not worth it, unless you NEED OS X. Check out the Alienware m5550 as well, very nice laptop for $999 to start, im using one right now :) Gaming rocks on it.

The new keyboard takes a couple of days to get used to, but once you do you will love it. As for the palmrests looking stained after awhile, just use a Mr. Clean magic eraser and it will look new again.

Well, looks as though Alienware made a mistake with my m5550, it has a full blown 256MB ATI x1400 instead of the 128MB version. WOOT!

White spots are caused by bruising the screen. Mostly it happens when preasure it being applied to the screen, for instance when it is in a bag during transport. If you do carry it around in a bag make sure the bag is not stuffed to the hilt and make sure nothing is putting too much preasure...

If I needed a laptop for taking notes and such, I would take my older Clamshell iBook to class. That thing gets 6 hours of battery while doing word processing :)
