Yeah my father has a SATA II hard drive, and I don't know what he'd possibly need USB 3.0 for. I just checked the PSU, and he actually has a 350 watt one, so I think I'll get the Neo Eco 400C.
I was thinking of getting the cheapest SB i3 actually, but but the 2105 has HD Graphics 3000 instead of 2000. Considering I'm not going to buy a GPU for this computer, and want it to last a fairly long time, do you think I'm better off with the HD 3000 graphics?
Hi guys, need a little help figuring out what to buy for my father's PC upgrade, since the motherboard on his P4 system went kaput. I would like to get him something noticeably faster that will last him at least a good 4-5 years. This is what I was thinking of getting:
$52 Antec NEO ECO 400C...
I'll try to snap some next time I'm at my friends place. :D

This was the case used btw. The footlong video cars fits with the upper hard disk rack removed.
Alright we assembled the computer last week, everything worked flawlessly. Ram timing didn't even need to be set. And what a fast machine, compared to my x3 720 system. Thanks for the advice everyone (including ppl in the other thread).
Hi guys, last year I posted an $850 build thread for a friend and received some great advice. Took him a while, but he finally got his student loan, and is now ready to build his PC, although his budged has changed slightly since then; it's now around $1,100. He wants something fast and snappy...
... and it's in stock again. lol.

edit: and removed automatically from my basket cause it's out of stock. I swear Newegg is messing with me!!
Thanks for the great advice guys. Forceman unfortunately that ram is out of stock, or else I'd get it for sure. The 2500k is also out of stock. Hopefully they'll be in stock soon. We'll see what my friend decides at the time of purchase, he might go for the i5 2400, or maybe the i7 2600k.

Thanks Skillz. Yeah it kind of makes a difference that I'm from Canada. I can't get good CPU/mobo combo deals on the canadian newegg.
Edit: ok how's this? I stuck with the sunbeam heatsink, it's actually cheaper than the cooler master on newegg.ca The RAM you suggested was out of stock. I'll...
Hi guys, I'm building a PC for a friend of mine. It's been a while since I've built a PC, so I'd just like to get a some opinions and suggestions from all you experts here. I don't know the exact size of his monitor, but it's not large. However he might upgrade later, but it definitely won't be...
Hi guys, haven't been browsing hardware pr0n in a while, so I don't know what's hot and what's not. Therefore I'd like to ask you guys for a bit of help with building a system for my brother. He will be using is mostly for gaming. I am leaning towards a cheap AMD build (I have an X3 720 and am...
Eh... I don't get it. Why not X4 955 vs i7 920?
The i7 should last you longer I think. You'll have to wait a while before AMD releases a CPU that will be able to compete with the i7.
Yeah install Powerstrip. Under color options I think there's a checkbox for Boost "something". It makes the image brighter without losing color saturation. Worked pretty well on my old CRT.
Oh cool, I'm googling my issue and run into my own thread... again...
So the mouse lag was caused by the nvidia card. It was also a case on another AMD system, with another similar card (both 7900 series). Nvidia, thnxbai. :)
Still can't figure out the temperature reading problem, though. Do...
What's your budget? if I had the cash I'd go for something like this

With an X4 955 and 8GB of DDR3 RAM.
Your video card looks decent. Do you really need to upgrade it? I'd wait until the 5000 series cards are introduced by...
