This jailbreak has been hands down the easiest I've ever done. I thought I would have to wait until 4.0 to jailbreak my new 3GS but I'm glad I only had to wait 2 weeks :)
I'd go for a PIX 515 and then upgrade it to 128MB of RAM if it isn't already. You should be able to run version 8 code without any issues (I currently run this setup at home without any difficulties)
try the following command from the CLI "oowriter" and copy/paste the error message(s) here. Also have you recently performed a "yum update -y"? If not please issue that command first.
The best advice I can give you from experience is to first lookup some local data centers in the area. Once you find a few, try to find out who are the Network Engineers or CTOs. Even though you are a complete stranger, introducing yourself in a formal way saying you are greatly interested in...
Who says one learning off a RHEL-based system can't enjoy themselves? If I was getting started out with Linux I would rather learn on a system that is proven stable versus one that is bleeding edge with a great number of bugs. Once he gets comfortable with Linux then by all means go for the...
FreeBSD is a good starter if you are interested in understanding the workings of a typical UNIX-like operating system. Once you get comfortable with FreeBSD I would highly recommend you look into Red hat Enterprise Linux (freely available as CentOS) as it is highly common in the corporate realm.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm looking forward to diving into the world of VMware. Are there certain types of labs that you guys had setup during your study stages that helped you excel on the exam?
I am fast approaching my RHCE exam and like usual, I am planning for the next big thing on my to do list which is the VCP exam. I have been running ESXi since 3.5 at home however I have never really delved into the system as much as I would like to have. I have compiled the following outline for...
I have a 3G iphone and will be attempting a jailbreak on 3.1.3 tonight with the RC of blackra1n. I'll let you guys know if I run into any difficulties.
I've recently come to the conclusion that paying a little extra for a machine sometimes pays off (previous owner a Dell Inspiron & Vostro). I was sick of the cheap feel and poor performance of Dell laptops so I decided to get a Macbook Pro. I've never been a huge fan of Apple however I have to...
I'm debating whether I want my internal BIND server forwarding to anything at all. I currently have it setup to forward to OpenDNS but have gotten annoyed with the redirects to their useless search pages.
On my netbook I gave up on firefox (especially considering the firefox build on linux isn't very resource friendly). I now use Chromium and have never looked back since
Shakes fist at SuSe/Novell... Temporarily remove the vga= parameter by pressing the space bar on the grub boot screen (one right after bios), edit the second line by using the arrow keys and then hit 'e'. Remove the vga parameter from the line and press 'b' to boot the system. Once you have...
I typed up some documentation for my previous employee that I thought I would share:
1) yum install freenx (downloads, installs, and obtains the necessary dependencies)
2) Restart the sshd service by typing /etc/init.d/sshd restart in the console
3) Open up a SCP program like winscp or gftp...
This is pretty cool, I wonder if they just sell the Atom CPU + mobo together? I would like to put this cpu/mobo combo into a nice supermicro 3U, plug in my RAID 5 array and use it as an ISCSI SAN :)
