They are. I don't notice any ghosting on mine but some people are more able to see/perceive such things than others (the visual benefits of higher Hz fall into this category as well). Though I also came from a slow ass old 1200P Apple Cinema display (was like 16ms).
Especially with the recent AR sales for near $100.
And as for 290s I thought their present stock coolers were lacking for this type of work? Sure seems to me that 7950s are still the most cost effective miners but I don't really know; just using market prices as a guide. The average miner may...
I just sold my Twin Frozr III on a $450 BIN. Unbelievable. And also today scored a 670 FTW 4GB with XSPC Razor plus backplate and the air cooler for $350. Thanks Litecoin and eBay! I will gladly pay them their 10% this time.
So yeah if you have a 7950 especially certain models like TF3 known...
Thanks.
Right on. Love stories like this. And not cause I'm some damn 8 fanboy or whatever but because *this is how it should be*. A positive progression. Not exactly apples to apples but we all love the latest and "greatest" hardware, right? Why not software too (provided it's truly better in...
^ That is certainly possible, yes. This beta, at least, has really made some of Windows 8's updated and better aspects shine, however. MS coulda used it a year ago. Tons of people have downloaded and tried the 8 Preview as a result.
I am not a fanboy. I still run 7 but Windows 8 has slowly won me over based on things like this. Was planning a new mobo to be able to go Crossfire again and will definitely be upgrading my OS to 8.1 during that same time now.
I meant it's a disservice in general to write it off because once...
Well then they are really doing themselves a unnecessary disservice for no real good reason. Even if you were stuck with Metro-which you are not-it is a really good OS and a worthy successor to 7 for 2103 and beyond, especially under the hood.
LOL
It is a better product with more features...
I needed to rebind Q and heard some guy was able to import his BF3 settings and somehow that worked (because, which kills me, this was also a bug with BF3 until like the second patch iirc so I would think it needs to be fixed in the game itself).
I just use autohotkey in the meantime to change...
So what's the deal with OS X guests exactly? Certain versions supported officially if ESXi host is Apple hardware (and "just works" like any other OS)? Otherwise need the "unlocker" a la a hackintosh?
At first I thought I read that 5.5 was the first to have official support but upon further...
Yes this appears to be "snag", at least at present, for us free users:

Ok well I know Xeons of course support ECC but if indeed a "requirement" that must be on server mainboards because I am running the above-mentioned X3480 just fine in my P55 'consumer' board with non-ecc (3.5 at stock volts woo). Though I don't really understand that as the memory controller is...
Wow this is so damn sweet. I guess it never occurred to me that this might be possible at all in the first place seeing as how you need Boot Camp to strap a Windows DVD and all. *nix obviously works "natively" like OS X though and I guess I knew that now that I actually think about it.
Heh not mine to get rid of unfortunately or one would be at home as my second host. This will allow me to try multiple hosts and clustering and vMotion and what not.
Wooo just learn at STH that 4,1 (2009) and later Mac Pros make very nice ESXi boxes in terms of compatibility and, of course, performance. Have a few at work gathering dust!
The prices are finally going up after holding steady if not dropping all summer. Think related to tighter stock now.
And the "yellow tint" may be bleed.
Yes ok that is helpful to see spelled out even though I guess I pretty much understood this already. The browser on the thing is really the limiting factor when it comes to what it can "play" at this point.
I am trying to watch that vid but having trouble at work. Do you have more detail as what media "types" could be streamed from other PCs on the local network? And couldn't I also theoretically "host" any content via Apache (just a directory listing even) and send that http link to the thing?
Good answer.
I don't know if anything can really "beat Apple" here though; you get what you pay for. Regardless of what people may think/say the Apple logo isn't the main reason their products are more generally more expensive.
The overclockable Korean PLS units are an overall steal as they...
Yeah the BLB can be bad; but at least such can be fixed and is due to fairly obvious structural problems once you take a look see inside. Even just removing the screws can help on bottom spots by relieving pressure on the panel.
There are also IPS ones at Microcenter if you have one nearby. Auria. $399 can get an open box for like $338. Most probably get returned by people without DVI-D/I, I figure.
They are 8ms (states in manual) and it has been confirmed multiple times and various ways it is truly displaying higher Hz incl in games (not frame skipping or what not). You can see the difference even on the desktop moving windows around quickly. They also have a Samsung PLS label on the rear...
Yeah the CRU is a great util, and also essential for AMD card owners who don't have the custom res and refresh ability in the drivers. You can also use it to fine tune the frequency(s) to help remove scan lines at higher Hz. Also, using it to set your refresh rate instead of the NV control panel...
Yeah my top left corner has some but hard to notice up there...though I do have two spots bottom middle either side of the logo. Not too tall and wide but the left of which is pretty damn bright and can be seen on greys even to say nothing of full black. Pretty sure it's related to the bezel...
Actually once you try one or three calibrated ICCs you will realize it wasn't so great. I mean, no, it's not bad at "stock" but can be more vibrant and less washed-out as you will see.
There are files for various refresh rates in the OP of the PLS monitor club at OCN in the Color Calibration...
Yeah me too...Upper right and two smaller spots middle bottom. Better than dead pixels imo but still kinda sucks. I have lessened the intensity by raising the display as well as tilting forward straight (which would do anyway). Apparently opening it up and tweaking the metal frame can fix the...
Well if the Catleap worked I don't see why not. Though there do seem to be a lot of people using these monitors on old GPUs now worth less than half as much as the display. Not everyone is a gamer I know but I still find it curious...
