I can understand that. The way my desk at home is setup I have three large windows to the right of me. I was concerned about the glare but it is barely noticeable. The main reason for this is the display so darn bright. Unless you look for the glare you won't see it. And I am using it with a ton...
I don't understand the question. My monitor has built-in speakers. That you can run a cable from my computer's soundcard too. Granted these speakers are not very good so I keep my original ones hooked up. The plug on the monitor is next to the VGA/DVI connectors.
As far as I know there isn't any game that supports 1680x1050. The monitor is scaling the picture up to 1680x1050 on it's own.
I don't think there is a "best" resolution, but from what I have read the one that makes the most technical sense with this monitor is 1280x768. This is because it is...
I do have it set to Fill to Aspect Ratio but I do not see the small black bars. My 360 wont even turn on any more for even a small amount of testing. I hope that this issue will be fixed after the repair. And it will display the resolutions correctly. (I noticed this as a possible issue once it...
Yeah, World of Warcraft looks awesome on this monitor.
My only issue is that the Xbox 360's text on the dashboard looks a little fuzzy compared to my old CRT. It is still completely readable just not as sharp as it once was. However I have the w2007 not the w2207 so there might be some...
Those pictures look good. What settings are you using on your 360? Resolution, etc. Also do you have the monitor set to Fill to Screen or Fill to Aspect Ratio?
Thanks!
I was referring to the text displayed on the Xbox 360 since it does not support the 1680x1050 you must use a lower resolution. The graphics look great but the text is slightly stretched. It is most noticeable on the Xbox 360 dashboard rather then in game.
The text on the PC is marvelous it is...
I have a 360 and this monitor. However I cannot take pictures right now as the same day I purchased this monitor my 360 went belly up.
I haven't had a lot of chance to play with the different resolutions but it does not look like this monitor supports 1:1 pixel mapping. It will stretch the...
I have been using 1280x1024 widescreen with the monitor set to Fill to Aspect Ratio. It looks pretty good. Graphics look sweet but text is a little blurry. Not enough to make it unreadable it's just noticeable.
Nothing that I can think of. This is my first LCD and I didnt know if there was any special care in cleaning to insure the glossy coating doesn't get scratched.
I purchased this monitor and boy is it sweet. However with my 360 and the VGA adaptor what resolution are you guys using? It doesn't seem to be doing 1:! pixel mapping when I set it to 1280x1024 it fills it fullscreen and the text becomes blurry. But the graphics are fine.
I am buying this monitor after I get off work tonight. Is there really a huge difference between the w2007 and w2207 to justify spending the additional $90?
Please don't spread misinformation. You have not done the proper legwork to determine if the HP 2207 is defective or not. You have not tried it on another desk for starters. In addition you are the only one who seems to be having this issue. Did you get a HP with a defective stand? Quite...
Well, which is it? A couple posts above you said you were typing really hard. Now you are saying you are not typing hard at all. Have you tried moving the monitor to another desk? If you aren't happy about it exchange it and see if it is any better.
Can someone tell me exactly how the Spyder2Express works? How does it calibrate the monitor specifically? Does it use color profiles within Windows or does it tell you what settings to change in the monitor's OSD?
Thank you.
w2207 has jumped in price up to $360 from $320 at CC. Unfortunately I wasn't going to be able to pick this monitor up until the end of May. Hopefully it will go back on sale soon. I may have to settle for the w2007 now.
And what if we don't run Windows/Mac? :(
Does this software tell you what to change your RGB settings too or does it make the changes inside Windows on the driver level?
There's a thread dedicated to that here:

It seems that the HP is better then the Samsung according to that thread.
How does this monitor perform when gaming?
Between the two which is better the 20.1" or the 22"?
Is the glossy screen a distraction? My CRT gets terrible glare as my PC is next to a window.
That GoW screen looks *awesome*. I wish the CRT I am using looked that good. I am definitely looking at getting this monitor in a couple months. Hopefully it drops in price a bit. Do you have any other games you could post some pictures of?
I would primarily be using this monitor for normal PC use and Xbox 360 gaming. I am aware that it only supports 1080i via component for the 360. Is there a huge difference between 1080p and 1080i?
I got sick of asking questions so after work today I headed to by local Best Buy and got a first hand look at this monitor at the 37" Westy.
The Gateway was hooked up to a computer running Vista via VGA and the monitor looked very nice. It looks like whoever set it up actually calibrated the...
I have heard that the optimum distance to view the Westy 37 is 3-4 feet. I am still going back and forth between this monitor and the Westy. I think the only thing that will fully make up my mind is to go in to the brick and mortor and look at them.
Just kind of curious on how far away people sit from this monitor. So how far away do you sit from this monitor? The real reason I ask is that I am blind in one eye and am curious if something so large would be a good buy considering I do not have a 100% field of vision.
Thanks.
How does the Gateway FPD2485W compare to the Westinghouse LVM37W3? It seems the Westinghouse is a lot bigger, about $400 more expensive, but has a lot less reported problems. What has been your experience?
