The sound is dramatically better when both sides and rears are being used in games with Pro Logic IIx, when there are no side speakers and just rear it sounds like crap, nothing ever sounds like its to the side of you.
Pro Logic IIx doesnt work when the computer is set to 7.1 analog, the...
Well that sucks, so Im limited to 5.1 regardless since Im not going to remember to switch to 7.1 every time I play one or two games that might support it. Thanks to it being analog the receiver cant figure out what its supposed to be, its either 7.1 with 2 empty channels or 5.1 for everything.
I have my PC hooked up to my receiver via HDMI and am only getting 5.1 channels when I set Windows speaker config to 7.1. I get no sound out of my side speakers in games, only front and rear. So does this mean PC games dont support 7.1? I tried Dragon Age Inq and Far Cry 4.
If I set windows...
so does the Apple watch. Its 2.5-4 hours of sitting there and doing stuff on the watch, which is insane, anyone that stares at their watch for that long each day will go blind in a week. The Apple watch does no worse than any other smart watch in terms of battery.
I imagine most heavy users...
I would need to do it from home to work, not on a local network. I tried Hamachi and Steam but it doesnt work, and I tried all the trouble shooting fixes for the "cant connect to network adapter" error or whatever its called
Anyone know of a remote desktop or remote desktop like solution to stream games from one PC to another? There are ways to stream games from the cloud, stream games to a Vita, and with Windows 10 you can stream Xbox One games to PC, but what about PC to PC? All the remote desktop things Ive tried...
Tried out Crysis 3 and it was one of the lowest when it came to ram usage, I think it went up to like 2.3gbs (it is the only game to max out my CPU though, I dont know if that lowers usable memory). None of my games want to go above 3gbs and mostly hover around 2.6gbs.
8gbs really just isnt...
I did a test today to see if my CPU was bottlenecking my 660gtx and I also looked at memory, I have 4gbs of ram and none of the games I tried went above 3gbs.
So far I tried Tomb Raider, Bioshock Inf, and Witcher 2, all maxed in windowed mode with task manager open. I saw a test of BF4 and it...
The E2000 is an old router that came before the Cisco redesign, its firmware support ended a few years ago so I dont have a lot of options. I'll try another firmware or reflash but its been running on that firmware for over a year without a single crash.
It has no mixed mode, N only works by...
The N band of my Cisco E2000 router keeps dying overnight, only at night, every night. When it dies it really dies, resetting does nothing, I have to set it to G and then back to N via LAN (Im using DDWRT). When I put it back in N it performs well like normal all day.
If I set it to G its...
I have an MSI H87-G43 and a 460 GTX, does anyone know if you can enable EFI boot for a non-efi video card?
Ive read about compatibility settings that boot certain devices as BIOS but cant find anything like that in the EFI settings, does MSI have that if so what do they call it?
I couldnt get any video at all (no post) after installing a 460GTX, turns out it was because I had Windows 8 mode enabled in the UEFI. After updating the bios I got an error saying the video card was a non windows 8 logo card and it lacked GOP.
So only new graphics cards can be used with the...
One thing I simply couldnt deal with in 8 was closing a metro app with a mouse, it was infuriating having to drag the top of the windows to the absolute bottom since a lot of the times I didnt have the mouse space to complete such a ridiculous movement. They increased the close area at the...
Anyone know what happens when you upgrade? Is it like a normal windows update or does it create 15gbs of bloat from the previous install and other weird registry oddities like a normal windows upgrade?
Anyone know of a simple virus scanner that just scans what and when you tell it without integrating into every aspect of the OS with constant nags and slowdown?
I always have to install then uninstall virus scanners because they are basically some of the worst malware out there.
Based on reviews Ive seen the Gigabyte is rated quietest out of the 660's. Its also one of the coolest.
I have one and its silent even when playing a game, its the first card Ive never been able to hear.
It plays the games at high enough settings, getting a card now just means youll be in the same boat next year for next gen games. To get your moneys worth wait until next gen consoles come out.
I really dont believe todays midrange cards have much life left in them at all, the 2014 games are...
I went from a 460 to 660 because I had to, I was way more than happy with the 460. Until next gen console games come out theres really no need for a faster card.
Once next gen games start getting ported to the PC there will be a real need for faster graphics since the jump is going to be huge...
any screenshots of normal vs alternate post processing? Its really hard to tell the difference, normal might be a little more blurry in the background.
I can understand going with a preferred brand if the difference was marginal but the 7850 is in a completely different class, like I said it competes with the 660. When next gen consoles come out and PC games finally get a major graphics boost youre going to regret not going with the much faster...
The 1gb 7850 seems to be by far the best card under $200, and it comes with Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite making it super cheap if you planned on buying those ($120 worth of AAA games for a $180 card is nuts). It kills all the nvidia cards in the same price range even without the crazy...
has anyone with the tomb raider pack gotten the Bioshock code? maybe they just sent out the crysis pack codes. Hopefully it doesnt get marked as junk and get deleted when the folder gets cleaned out.
it says the same for all the previous drivers, so it was added probably years ago and they just keep mentioning it, "additional details" doesnt seem to mean anything about the update
Its a bandwidth thing not a feature thing, all high speed HDMI ports and cables work with 3d. The GTX 460 is 1.3a and it does 3d fine, same with the PS3. All dual link DVI ports should be able to do 3d as well as long as the drivers support it.
I dont know, Ive always hated seeing sucky bitrate cutscenes that look worse than the normal game along with changing the guns/outfits of the character. The worst Ive seen is Arkham City, they use console graphics, low bitrate, and if you are using another Batman skin it doesnt change his...
I think its more because its still a console game ported to PC. A lot of cutscenes on PC look worse than in-game because they are using console graphics, they never bother to make a PC version of cutscenes since not all PCs will have the same settings anyways.
thanks, thats surprising, I was worried a physx card would add to the monthly bill but at 20w it wont do much. The HTPC is almost always running HDTV from a tuner so it will use a lot more power than normal Windows idling but the physx card shouldnt be affected by that.
thanks, Im going to try it with a 9800gt that I dont think outputs video anymore, it may or may not work for physx. The 9800gt does a max 105w, the 570 does 219w so if its higher than a few watts its probably safe to assume I can divide it by half.
10-20w would be fine, I dont want it doing...
Doesnt 3dmark have a way to pick similar computer setups as well? I havent used it in years but I think you could pick things like cpu and ram.
could the card not be getting enough power from the psu? does the motherboard have the right PCI speed for the card?
I kind of dont like it, it looks good when its just blowing in the wind or moving slowly but the spread is out of control and makes it look like shes flailing around. They need to adjust it so its more clingy like real hair. My guess is I will turn it off after the novelty wears off.
