update:
It was the EVGA GTS 8800 640mb graphics card that was faulty. I threw it in the oven for about 315 degrees for 10 minutes and left it in there for cool down for about 30 minutes. I then reseated the heatsink and everything works now.
I've just followed the test guide and have done everything except the remove cpu part and psu swap. so far no error beeps.
I have an AC/DC clamp meter. is there a way to just clamp my psu to see if it's good?
I"m starting to wonder if it's the Mobo or CPU because I did overclock (stable with...
Hmm. I did everything with the mobo still in the case. Was I suppose to take the mobo out of the case put the jumper wire on the CMOS reset and hit the power button to reset it?
brb. I'm going to try and reset it again.
Let's say a transistor or capacitor or something fried on the mobo, would...
My computer shows a black screen and no beeps when I boot it up. See my signature for the specs.
I've tried to reset the cmos and took out the little battery. I took out the 640mb GTS 8800 video card and boot up with no beep. I took out the OCZ Reaper 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz ram sticks and...
So I've reformatted it and installed windows 7 back on it but it's very slow and noisy lol. The health went from 5% to 10% after all of my work but I've decided to trash this HDD and not to use it anymore.
I am reformatting this hdd...
I've been having issues on a few hdd's lately and decided to see if I can repair some more older hdd's I had laying around. This one is a Western Digital Raptor X WD1500AHFD that died on me 2-3 years ago and I've recently ran a scan on it.
I am thinking about wiping it clean and installing an...
I have a Inspiron 1420 with a dedicated 8400M GS graphics option.
A few days ago my screen was getting a green screen with lines across.
After I rebooted and tried to start back up, my screen is just black but I can hear the volume of the Windows 7 screen (so we know the computer is...
omg. My WD Raptor X 150GB is recently giving me problems too! I bought it in 2007 when I built my computer.
I was trying to load my Starcraft II earlier and it wouldn't start a game and it would crash my sc2. I then later received a message from windows 7 saying how the harddrive is corrupted...
Wow. I've been using this mx518 mouse for over 3 years now and it's still working great. It's kinda worn out due to me not using a mouse pad for it. I have a wood table ~_~
I might buy another one...
I never had them as Dynamic disks. I wanted to keep them basic so I can take them out and loan them to people whenever I need to without any problems. I've heard if I made them all Dynamic, then it wouldn't work as I wanted.
I'm going to try and unhook all of them tomorrow and boot up...
When I right click on it, it gives me option to Reactive Volume and Delete Volume. I'm afraid to do the "Delete volume" option because it might do something funky -.-
I think I'm just going to leave this as is unless someone on this forum thinks I should do something about this.
What is going on? Why is it still showing all of that for the two HDD's from before? By the way, I've already unhooked the 750GB but I am still using the reformated 1.5TB hdd that failed. Why is it still showing both like that? is something wrong with my mobo?
This is weird. I installed Windows 7 onto my raptor HDD and it is still showing the same stuff it did in Disk Management when my 2 WD hdd's failed.
Here it is:
I bought two hard drives on newegg during black friday and used it for a couple of weeks.
The two HDD's were:
Western Digital Caviar Green WD15EADS 1.5TB
and
HD 750|WD 7K 32M SATA2 WD7501AALS
I bought them both OEM.
A few weeks into using it, I decided to unhook the HDD's. After...
The keyboard works so that I am able to access the bios and such but I need some help on if there's anything I can do in the dos to fix this problem
Update: It is working in safe mode. I think I might have gotten a virus. I am virus scanning now
I have a problem. My keyboard is not working. I've plugged in my old skool keyboard into the purple hole and the light on my keyboard brights up but nothing I type goes through.
At first, I thought something was wrong with the purple keyboard port; as a result, I went out and bought a fancy...
I havn't tried connecting to any other wireless networks in the area because a lot of them are all secured.
Also, my internet has been normal in the mornings so I guess they are doing something crazy during the night time to cause it to lag so much.
I bought an Inspiron 1420 for 640$ shipped or so from Dell last month and now I've been using it at my school campus.
It has a Intel 4965AGN Wireless-N Mini Card and the network says it's 300 Mbps connection here but at times when I'm using the internet, it would be slower than AOL!
I did...
Corsair 620HX I have that for my build in my sig.
It's a wonderful Power supply.
I wish it had more slots because I've used up all of it. If I had more slots I would have been able to power up 2 more hds :(
Or should I get this ram?

Update:
I've bought my laptop.
Inspiron 1420, Intel Core 2 Duo T8300(2.4GHz, 800Mhz, 3M L2 Cache) for $620.40
I got it from dell after using the 40% off discount code.
I chose the 1 GB ram option because I'm planning on upgrading the ram on my own.
However, I need your guys...
I just saw this deal:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=907814
Is it any good?
They were talking about how it's not a good deal because of this "Intergrated graphics card"...
Should I bite or wait a little longer? I'm starting my 300 level Electrical &...
Well, this is perfect for my budget though.
