I think you already on the minimum comfortable spot with that VGA.
If you plan using 4K, even RTX 3080 will be hardly reach >60fps with games in high setting, you'll need RTX 3090 for 4K 120Hz.
I also doubt that RTX 3090 can play average 120fps on high setting in 4K.
For 1080p and 60Hz 1070 is enough I think.
It even still handle 1440p in medium quality game quite nicely.
nowadays upgrading VGA card and monitor must be in one package, it is not worthy to buy a 2080ti, if you only game at 1080p 60hz monitor
Wow, we came to ages where buying a VGA need a bot lol....I mean its not something like an investment, they degrade value overtime, and it also not like critical situation like if you don't buy that you can't game or work.
Lol at this.
Maybe there is a market for urge need of new things out...
Thanks for the info, worth to try. You make me rehink again to buy the founders one :) .
Would be a lot easier if just having a water cooling though :) . Because I don't know how to reverse the direction on front case fan from my Phanteks Pro M SE , I should try to search how now.
as far as I...
Try to use Taiphoon burner application just for curiosity type of chip you had in your ram.
Its a free application, just google it.
Some ram chip have characteristic not responding well to voltage increase, would be nice to confirm it by knowing what chip inside it.
3700Mhz is quite high if...
Yes I did talking about air cooler for CPU. Here is what will happened in my case if I still using air cooling on CPU when buying an RTX 3080 :
We don't know how hot RTX 3080 yet, but I know it will make my air cooled CPU get hotter with the founders edition.
If I change CPU fan direction, I...
I also kinda dissapointed with Corsair nowadays, they seem to go towards compatibility instead of overclocking, which can be seen on the loose timing they had on their XMP.
Not a lot of their B die can be highly overclocked.
I turn to Gskill now as they seem to have more higher overclocking...
It seems quite unfair for 2080 user with this 3070/3080 launching.
If it is proven 3070 beat 2080ti in all aspect, prices for used 2080Ti will be below 3070, which goes around US$970 new here.
Agreed with Mylex , however people with money saving in their mind will sell their previous card to...
I would like to buy an RTX 3080 if one available, but I can not go with founders edition, because think it has the worst fan setup for air cooling, since it blows hot air to processor.
I need to find one that does it like a blower edition.
However, price is way more than price stated by...
@DrLobotomy I think you are right it looks like my PSU is failing.
I have change my PSU and display cable port. At first I thought I have a bad DP cable which have 20 pin power connected, but I have check my DP cable which come along with my MAG271CQR and it seems good, here is link of my cable...
Yes I did that, it definitely clear things out. So I have to pull out and put it in again in the PCIe everytime I want to use the Gigabyte 1070Ti. After sucessful bootup, when I restart everything seem fine. But after I turn off the PC, it happening again tomorrow after it, or the day after...
By the way, I bought an 1080, and the system is having no problem in the last 3 days on HDMI connection.
But I still can not make conclusion on the cause since it can be PSU, which I already change now anyway, or other part causing it. But I think we can list out my motherboard as the problem...
I think so as well, as without driver loaded I see that memory utilization in GPU is 0% so it is not running so the OCCT only stresing the CPU which I believe have different rail that VGA. Anyway I'll see if I can find or at least buy new PSU again.
I saw from Nvidia forum that 445.75...
I will try that as well.
But I've tried loading OCCT Power Test which said can test PSU in normal mode without loading my VGA driver, and here is my result for 3 minutes :
how do you think on my PSU?
I've tried in safe mode
1. Uninstalling MSI Afterburner
2. Using DDU Clean and restart
It went to restart and go to desktop in normal mode just fine, but when I install the nvidia driver with the latest one, it happening againg, black screen and fan full speed not long after driver is loaded...
I have 2 Nvidia 1070 Ti.
1. Gigabyte 1070Ti which only have 1x Pcie 8 pin
2. Colorful 1070Ti which have 2x Pcie 8 pin
Try them both, and both have same result, black screen and full fan speed after going to desktop.
I will try to reseat and check the contact with PCIE though.
For update, I've...
Are you sure?
My 1070Ti come with 2x8 pin while my 9800GT come with no additional power pin.
Does it help to say that this is the PSU failing and not the mobo, if it turn out that my 1070Ti is all normal in Windows 10 safe mode?.
I have left it stay in safe mode for 6 hours and no black screen...
were you referring "something is detecting something wrong" by my PSU?
and currently I'm looking out new PSU, which one better single rail or multi rail?
And what confusing is Corsair PSU have switch to change single rail to multi rail? anyone what those single or multi rail is benefiting for PC?
Yup, that what I thought as well, but I'm still not sure as if I looking at the rail of +12v, in BIOS and in AIDA, they are all seem ok.
Can it be that the PSU only failed under load?
Hi all
I'm experiencing black screen with GPU fan in all speed a moment after entering Windows 10.
My spec is :
ASUS P6X58D premium
Intel [email protected]@1.3125v with Noctua D14. Speedstep and C1 enabled.
Colorful 1070Ti 8GB (have 2xPCIE 8pin)
Corsair 32GB PC 3200 Triple Channel@1704 (4x8GB)...
I remember I be able to achieve this timing with my mushkin 3x2GB, however currently one of the stick is dead, so I only have 2 of them.
I currently run my system with triple channel but with different capacity of RAM 2x8GB + 2GB just for triple channel.
Memtest shows no error for a full day...
If you're running with SLI, for me, I don't feel safe using an 650watt PSU, eventhough I think it will still fit just enough. But I always want my PSU to have enough room for me to step up or can give me enough juice if I want some extreme voltage upping, so I think you should thinking upgrading...
You should only care for your max temp....please post your max temp when loading lynx, or hyperPI or IBT or any other proc tester, there you know whether your temp is out of limit or not.
I want to buy Naga, but after I saw the placement of the back and forward button, I change my mind, and switch back to the mX1000.
And I don't see the epic change those button anyway.
Will be waiting yours and try the experience first .
You used gtx260 just for physx ?
And does the gtx260 slowing down your primarily card ?
A lot of people saying it like you did, I think physx is more acceptable for people who like to see "more" of their nvidia card, nvidia card has that feature so why don't it bein used.
But anyway, just...
Yes I agree....his spec is fine with lower resolution, but I think the vga spec is too high.
In high res, the cpu will be the bottleneck....I'd say go to something like 560Ti, you should be fine at all resolution as well
So you're running 6870 in cross fire in 650watt fine ?
just curious ?
I've same watt PSU, but using quad core with single VGA, want to try SLI or cross fire but refuse to upgrade my PSU, it will good info if 650w can run 6870 crossfired
:D :D ....That would be more than enough...the meaning from the card requirement is combined +12v.
And 850w is still enough even to run 4870x2 in crossfire, and I'm sure it still can hold all current single new GPU like GTX580 all right.
This happened to all of your game or just some specific game ?
Try lowering your GPU clock and uninstall and then reinstall again. After uninstall use driver cleaner for clean uninstalling.
See what happened again.
After all your description I don't think your PSU caused this it sound more...
Even though he is not a gamer, he use 2x 22 inch 1680x1050. GTX460 is quite weak to run game at full setting I think, it would have just enough though.
If you don't plan to upgrade your monitor to full hd resolution single 460 would just enough, just make sure you get the 1GB version.
Since he...
I've once use Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B. I said this is a good cooler for its price on par with Thermalright Ultra Extreme Rev C.
Don't go to super mega, if you're looking to a big cooler, just go to Noctua D14 or Thermalright Silver arrow as they both are the best air cooler right now IMHO...
I'm getting confused 1356 or 2011 ?
I'm getting tired following Intel roadmap on changing socket, I don't think its not wise to change motherboard everytime we upgrade the processor.
I'm using i7 920 now, and I will jump to AMD again as soon as they can show that they over the Intel side like...
