I am looking to help get my friend a new video card for his computer. He has a slim line case and needs a low profile card.
He plays WoW and Cataclysm is eating his computer alive with just onboard video.
Any decent cheapish suggestions?
Looking at like AMD 5450 or 5550, any other...
I am getting some confusing feedback on newegg and other places.
This motherboard works with the Phenom X4 965, correct?
A couple of the reviews said that it worked with the x4 955 not the x4 965.
Can anyone post some clarification?
Probably because they want to investigate it.
And they probably need to have the physical part to be able to write it off on there book as a damaged product.
Check your clip that holds your CPU in place.
Is it bent from multiple remountings?
If it is, it might be preventing a good thermal connection between the HS and the IHS.
if it's bent, remove it, and mount your HS directly over the CPU. to hold it in place.
Also, in general, it's not the video card that is the big thing for photo processing, it's the CPU and the quality of monitor you have.
Some monitors are notoriously bad for making photos look terrible, your monitor is in the midrange for image and color quality and accuracy.
You may want to...
I've yet to have a bad experience with EVGA.
Tech support are great, and if you know the right people to go to they can push your issue thru pretty quickly,
Russianhaxor on this forum and the EVGA forum is a kickass dude and is most of the time quite willing to help.
What kind of voltage regulation are you running to your computer?
Also, how hot is your NB getting on your 680i, that memory controller is heat sensative, and seems as it gets hotter the worse it is on ram.
It happens to me when I am playing 3D games, usually world of warcraft.
The screen will go black for 2 seconds, then it will come back, and it will sometimes have a small white snowy pixels flashing/shimmering on the screen very very fast.
It will sometimes do this repeatedly in the course...
Got my new card. They sent me a new retail kit, including GRAW and a Revision 1.4 card.
Date: 05/07
I believe my original card was 1.0 or 1.1.
Date: 01/07 or 12/06
I will test it tonight when I get off work.
Thanks XFX, just hope this one works.
Thanks,
Gyr
Ugh. I am still waiting for them to inspect the faulty card they sent me that I sent back.
So I have to wait for them to get that done so that they can send me the next one.

This shouldn't take this long.
UGH, fed up with XFX.
Initiated my 1st RMA on 5/31/07, and I still do not have a working video card.
The 1st card they sent back, was even worse than the 1st card I sent it.
And it was obviously used as well.
Ugh.
They have insisted on multiple occasions that they won't cross ship for me. I am unsure why. It's getting really freaking irritating. I am going on over a month without a functioning home computer.
XFX please help. =\
Yea I am having the same issue. The Replacement card they sent me was obviously used and had even more issues than the original card I sent in.
The replacement card had a large blemish on the head sink casing and the mounting clip looks like it had been removed and replaced on it. You can tell...
Yea, guns are a great hobby, keeps idiots and fanatics at bay.
I love rifle shooting, something soothing and calm about it.
Pistols and such don't really do it for it. It all seems kinda frantic.
Also their's something fun about using a no scope rifle and being able to plink a hole in a...
I'm kind of in the same boat.
Just have a lot of bills to go along with it.
Student Loans, Car Payment all of that crap, if i didnt have that, I would have a machine like yours.
Yea I gotta change out the heatpipe on my EVGA 680i

Yea it's definitely not the 6000.
It doesn't have 4 fans.
It just has the 2, but it was like trying to show a square block in a round hole installing it the 1st time.
XFX's support has some very good customer service people.
It's hard to get them on the phone sometimes. There support site is very nice.
They do not have advanced RMA's though. (Cross Ship RMA's)
EVGA does. (I am going with EVGA from now on because of the Cross Ship program).
Have you tried pulling down the voltage and seeing if it is stable?
My Ballistix run at PC2 6400 at 1.85v stable and solid as a rock.
Edit:
(I am not running them at PC2 8000 right now, I need to go into my system and play with a whole bunch of stuff and I haven't had time yet.)
