Exactly!!! But most folks here seem to take on this "It's the Nvdia way or the highway" type of attitude. "Nobody is pointing a gun to your head". Just get the cheaper last gen card that isn't even being produced anymore and be happy. lol!!
So you are against attractively priced products? You also seem to be against Nvdia following their past high-end video card pricing, and seem to be quite fine with Nvidia doing whatever the hell they want. No gun to my head but we can damn sure call them for what they are right now. And...
Where did you get those numbers from? This guy tested BFV with RT and this is what he got. 1440p is a no go for anything but the 2080ti and he didn't even bother testing 4k.
Why is Nvidia selling 2 RTX cards (2070,2080) that can't even play Raytracing games at a decent framerate? Raytracing is a joke right now. Nvidia is asking folks to pay for tech now that isn't even ready for primetime, and doesn't appear to ever be ready until we have cards that are twice as...
When I purchased the card it was considered high-end. Its still is a high end card.
Before the RTX came out:
Cards
Entry-level GeForce GT 1030
Mid-range GeForce GTX 1050
GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
GeForce GTX 1060
High-end GeForce GTX 1070
GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
GeForce GTX 1080

I thought that's what I was doing when I purchased my Fury card :) I would like nothing better than for AMD to beat Nvidia. Only reason why I have an Nvidia card now is because Vega was 6 months away and I needed a card ASAP.
2020? AMD has to come better than that. I learned from Vega as to not wait. And what should we expect in 2020? Cards that match Nvidia's performance from two-years prior?
I remember the days when I was able to afford the most high-end cards. Not anymore. I'll quit PC's and PC gaming all together at these prices. My current rig will have to do.
PC gamers seem like they want to forever be stuck on 1080p. lol!! Consumer TV will be at 8k and PC gamers will still be stuck on 1080p. When did 1080p become the screen resolution standard for PC gamers from now until the rest of time?
Love to see the main screen res used. My guess is that it is still 1080p. PC gamers got stuck on 1080p and even allowed consumer TV's to pass them. lol!!! I remember the days when PC screen res was always more than TV resolutions, not anymore.
They can charge the same price without those features. And I don't think that stuff matters to miners so why even include it? These are no longer gamer cards but mining cards. But they still look like gaming cards. They will figure it out eventually.
Unless something happens soon, my 1070 is probably my last video card. I'll just game on that until I can't game on it anymore. PC graphics are priced out of the price range of the folks who they were designed for. I've never seen anything like this in my life. I was willing to spend up to...
I guess retailers never heard of "limit 2 per customer"? It will take a while for miners to gather enough friends together to get the dozen or so cards that they desire if limits are in place.
And there's no excuse for PC's to at least be at 1440p by now. We've had hardware that can run 1440p for several years now. PC gamers are stuck at 1080p for whatever reasons and that was my point.
What if you want to buy just a card? Like we used to be able to do. You shouldn't have to get things you don't need just to purchase a video card. I can't see PC gaming going on for too much longer if all of the hardware is going to miners. Mark my words unless something is done. This...
