What do you think when you see ASUS ( Nvidia ) graphics cards?

+1 to the above, well described. I have been through similar experiences and ownership of the ticket from start to finish is the way to go, glad ASUS has put this thread out there, shows at least an honest attempt at genuine feedback, good show.

What do you think when you see ASUS Graphics cards?

I tend to be an XFX- only buyer for the reasons already mentioned (warranty, RMA etc) but am also a creature of habit, once I find something that works I tend not to change unless I have a bad experience. For the same reason I always buy ASUS motherboards :) The only thing I would add is that...

    I7 920 and 940 to be discontinued....

I would be amazed if Intel was stupid enough to price their future high-end CPUs at $1,000 (minimum) or anything like it, you may as well wave a big flag at AMD saying "please pitch your product here" (in the $300-500 CPU price range for example). So I am confident Intel will (in the interest...

    PWM fan v Fan Controller

Thx guys, that answers my question, looks like I won't be taking too much of a risk with a fan controller as long as I keep an eye on it. Much appreciated.

    PWM fan v Fan Controller

My main concern is just that I don't want to fry my CPU or have it running hotter then it should and shortening its life, PWM means I need not worry, fan controller means I have to control the temps and be aware of it etc.

    PWM fan v Fan Controller

Just wondering what to do in terms of a fan for my Thermalright Ultra 120A Extreme CPU cooler (for a Core i7 920). The options are a 4-pin 120mm PWM fan controlled by the BIOS or a standard 120mm 3-pin fan controlled by a fan controller. Any thoughts as to which is better? Money is not...

    MHz v Latency

I have what may be a bit of a noobie question but i'm sure someone here knows the answer. I am buying RAM for a new Core i7 920 gaming rig I am building for myself and I can buy two types of OCZ RAM for the same price: 1) OCZ Platinum DDR3 14400/1800MHz (3x2GB) 8-8-8-24, or; 2) OCZ...

    E6300 avg temp of 63 degrees C?

Ok, will do. I am pleased to report temps of 41-44 degrees, thanks guys, you were right, the fan unit was still not sitting right, turns out one of the push-pins was fighting the alignment to the hole in the MB, turned it 90 degrees and it went in perfectly, not sure I like those push pins...

    E6300 avg temp of 63 degrees C?

Ok, thanks guys, that helps a lot, at least I am certain I have a problem now  will check the seating again. I know I keep on about it but do i need to replace the paste? Cheers, Balt [edit] and I do use Core Temp, seemed the most directly reliable measure. [edit]

    E6300 avg temp of 63 degrees C?

That is stock speed, under load is approaches 70 degrees. So might I be right about having to replace the thermal paste? Or would that not cause such in increase in temp? Balt

    E6300 avg temp of 63 degrees C?

Hiya all, Just a bit of a noobie question, I installed an E6300 in an Asus P5N - E Sli MB and missed inserting 2 of the CPU heatsink pins properly, the thing felt solid but I was wrong, caused the CPU to overheat really fast and shut down the sytem after about 30secs. I know, not good...
