Well, I have both a first and second batch cooler. For my first edition I can glimse light through 3 of the heatpipes. Second batch cooler does not have this problem.
I also was somewhat surprised by the new color. Don't mind though.
I also ordered mine from Overclockers UK. Not installed it yet. Returning it will most likely cost almost as much as ordering a new one.
But isn't Overclockers UK owned by the same group as Caseking. How come they don't have the same info? Hopefully, this will get sorted, and they also will...
I believe this should be the Meltdown / Spectre BIOS fix. Not sure they would released an update otherwise?
But I am kind of locked into the two PCIe slots right now.
Seems like there are some slight incompatibilities between the BeQuiet AM4 kit back-plate and this ITX board. I think I need to grind down the 2-3mm edges to prevent it from overlapping some components on the back. Not ideal, but I will hopefully make it work.
I like the look of the M-design. It is recognizable as a Ncase, as well as being sleek and stylish.
I would easily replace one or two of my current m-ATX cases if the design turns out similar to this.
Some questions though...
Did you consider other holes patterns? I am no expert, but even...
Sweet! How long approx. will it take before you have them in hand, and can prepare to test thermal performance?
Do you have any plans for how to evaluate them?
I still to be seen how team green and red have balanced the gain from node shrink into performance or efficiency. There is promise of competition in discrete GPU market, and with VR and 4K, they should still have reasons to focus on top performance.
In any case, low power and/or SFF variants...
Mine is currently only hanging from the screws in the rear.
You might fabricate something to hold the riser pcb in place. (Also shown some hundres pages back...)
V1 cases has a solid plate down below, which should allow riser pcb to be mounted on spacers, drilled and tapped into it.
Newer...
What I struggle to find is a good looking case m-ATX with 5 card slots, good esthetics and solid ventilation.
What drew my to buy two M1 was that they look darn good, while being extremely practical.
Personally, I do prefer air cooling. I have been using SLI for a while to do 1440p at decent...
They are not pin compatible, so that won't work.
Search the forum, I believe someone posted the pin-out here before. *And I failed to find them, meaning either my search-fu is low, or my memory is shot... *
Based on my own experience, I would say the reason I favor the C14 in my old build, is down to the fact that you can use the default fan bracket included with the M1, blowing down on the cooler.
(I don't use the bottom fan placement.)
Having two fans blowing into the case, causes over pressure...
Prime95 newer than 2.66 use AVX instructions, which had a tendency to quickly generate a lot of heat with the latest generations of intel cpus, beyond any regular consumer use.
If you are not going to use your computer for heavy rendering/ calculations/ math simulation, I would recommend using...
I want a 2011 socket type cpu and dual gpus.
Most likely getting a new mobo and cpu and recycling my two 980ti.
M.2 for main drive, and 2tb SSD for storage.
What is the best/ biggest air cooler this is believed to fit this case with such a load-out?
Well, other manufacturers with semi-passive power supplies sometimes offer a selector switch.
Perhaps that could be the compromise? (Makes it a lot easier to replace the fan as well, if you know you can run a lower RPM at full tilt from original supply.)
Seems like Asus are stalling with answering my retailer as well. Over two weeks now, and nothing.
(Retailer keeps sending me updates about hearing nothing...)
Have used Asus motherboards for a while now, but I am not impressed with this one.
Though, I have had dodgy Asus mainboard before, but...
Just a small note, air conditioners are less common in Scandinavia, than the hotter parts of Europe.
More people probably have AC as a side effect of owning a heat pump than stand-alone air conditioners.
Hence the notion of climate control is not applicable to most of us during the short summers...
If there were a proper compatible high performance top flow cooler for narrow ILM, I might consider it.
It has M.2 Gen3 x4, which I need if my Maximus Vii Impact board doesn't work out.
While totally unnecessary for my application, six cores would be nice still.
At stock levels, the CPU overheat beyond what I feel is safe when running any stress test (OCCT reached 117C before auto shutdown), including AIDA, prime 26.6 and XTU. I sent i back for RMA, and they didn't find anything wrong with the CPU in their ASUS Z87-Pro and a Zalman cooler it didn't...
Thanks, but the case I am looking into is more specific for the Maximus Vii impact.
I find it particular that my CPU in this MB barely pass 40W, even in the most stressful tests.
I have seen several screenshots of the CPU in other mainboards where it get closer to the 88 TDP rating. I am...
I need some help from anyone with a Maximus Vii Impact + i7 4790K/4770K.
Could someone please run a quick test for me?
When running a CPU stress test, what does TDP read in Intel XTU, or alternatively Power value under Core Temp?
That is odd. My SM951 showed up first time.
Maybe you should check the mPCIe Combo IV then. Maybe it is not plugged in correctly.
I saw on a forum another person had to RMA their board due to faulty connector.
Sure, they are meant for that, but I always go over the top.
I usually re-purpose my equipment sooner or later, and it might end up in a server somewhere.
I wish Anandtech had measured average CPU loads as well during those tests.
