Yeah, that's probably what I'd do. Mind you, I only recently parted ways with a fancy, but 15 year old, screen, and that was only because I moved overseas.
Out of interest, have you tried one of these large screens in the flesh? I've only ever tried one once, but I wasn't immediately impressed...
Realistically, the 38'' market is...not a hot one. You get LG panels, and as far as I can tell there are a couple of 2016 models, and a couple of 2019/2020 models. I'm not altogether sure which one (or which variation) the U3818DW uses.
In any case, on paper, the only potentially meaningful...
Monitor is in in Leeds, UK.
Because I am moving, I'm thinking about selling my NEC 2690WUXi. It is an incredible screen in perfect condition and I'm very sad about the prospect of seeing it go, but it is too big to comfortably lug around.
Full specs and a very detailed review can be found...
Before you dismiss the use of all research, do inform yourself. Making sweeping statements without any basis (because, frankly, you have none neither did you try to point any) is a blatant display of ignorance.
So what you're saying is that you have greater respect for people who make significant transformations to the environment and have to produce and transport the technology than for people who actually carefully plan where they build their facilities, in order to maximize the usefulness of...
Hi guys,
I got my hands on a pretty nifty HP L2335 earlier this week, but for some reason it is not playing well with my laptop (it's a Sony FW51MF). I'll elaborate:
- if I just plug it in (I only have a VGA cable at the moment), both the laptop screen and the HP screen seem to go on and...
I'm with pookeyhead - definitely the Eizo vs the Dell. It's more expensive, yes, but it's a really good display. And, to be honest, I can't think that more than 1 (or, maybe, 2) 30'' is overkill (yes, even if you're Al Gore).
I suppose you're extrapolating from the situation in the US. There is a market for quality news elsewhere on the globe, though.
But I still feel that Jerry Springer show should be banned. For some reason, one of the local TV stations bought a couple of seasons and it is absolute garbage. Just...
Oh, and I forgot to mention that the numbers cited are as reliable as paper shoes in bad weather. There can be half or five times as much subscribers, for all we know.
You people are making snap judgements based on a 2-week long trial for one newspaper. Which was a pioneer move, too. How long do you think it will take other elite papers to follow their example and start charging for quality content?
You see, I don't work for free. Far from it. And it is...
Oh yes. Because the services that start as free don't introduce paid subscriptions when they realize the free model is driving their business to the ground.
I don't think you can without jumping through hoops and, even then, I don't think it's ideal. I was working with the assumption that the OP had a mac, though,
That's true, but LG's production of those 27'' displays was remarkably flawed. That and, as you say, high demand, explain the issue.
Do note I'm not arguing that Apple monitors are flawless or even in the same category as Eizo or Quato displays. I'm just noting that they're better than...
Laugh all you want. This is why I'm sorry idiocy isn't painful.
@OP
The choice depends on your use. If not doing incredibly colour sensitive work, you can just get a U2410, calibrate it and go on your merry way. Still, if accurate colours are paramount, high-end models have hardware LUTs...
You're for getting to mention that they're cherry picked. Same model, yes. But you are sure you're buying a quality display.
Besides, there's more to an LCD than its panel.
Oh yes. Even sigmaplot can import .xls files. It is just too ubiquitous to exclude.
Granted, I don't think most people need this kind of accuracy. I was just trying to prove a point. Excel should be more than enough for most.
