Thx Nvidia
- you just turned my Shield TV Pro into a brick as far as I am concerned. That is exclusively how I used the device these days since my LG TV is still better for streaming apps than the Shield.
So, you either deal with GeForce Now in super slow free mode, or pay up at $9.99( or even...
ETSY - Dream big by Ray (blue cables). Decreased the cable clutter in my uATX Cerberus measurably. My Silverstone PSU came with excessively long cables to power the RTX-3070 when I only needed about 7". I've since added a GPU support bracket to address the sag on the right.
I have been very happy with my MSI MAG B660M Mortar mobo since I put together my Alder Lake system in January. Like the coolers on the M.2 SSD slots and beefy VRMs.
It is my first MSI mobo after my previous two builds were ASRock and Asus.
A couple months in and all is well. Happy with the i5-12600K ADL w/ the MSI B660M MAG Mortar mobo along w/ the EVGA RTX-3070 I managed to snap up at BB last year.
Years ago with Sandy Bridge & Kaby Lake I needed overclocking to get top performance. I honestly think I don't need OC w/ ADL.
Made the necessary decisions - overall determined I don't absolutely need the Z690 mobo or even having to OC the ADL CPU given the built in turbo.

I don't see myself getting rid of my Sliger Cerberus MicroATX case anytime soon. I'm not big on the gaudy RGB look either, other than maybe some low level lighting on my motherboard or RTX card.
Back when I sold off my two Lian-Li V600 aluminum cases about five years ago I had no trouble...
Only one so far from ASRock:
ASRock Z690M Phantom Gaming 4
supports DDR4 4800MHz (OC)
https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z690M%20Phantom%20Gaming%204/index.asp
Looking over the list of Z690 mobos that are coming out early next month. The huge percentage of these are ATX or eATX. Since we are not relying on SLI/Crossfire that much these days I don't understand the need for a huge system. I've done ITX builds and managed to work out some tight situations...
Interesting - My LG G7+ Thinq is still a rockin' phone after 3 years. Two Android OTA updates helped, but it stops at 10. The one downside is that the unlocked phone has is that it doesn't support wi-fi calling. The only non-carrier phones I know of that support wi-fi calling are either Apple or...
I really liked the older Lian Li cases. I've always been big on MicroATX, so the V600 was a great choice for me back in 2007. I crammed in a Koolance water cooling system that exhausted air through a radiator on the upper side vent. The PSU was vented on the lower side vent. It worked well.
Is it fair to say that after March the bots managed to get around the Best Buy drop anti-bot measures? I'm glad I got my RTX-3070 for MSRP back in late February, and it appeared to work well for [H] members that were in on this thread. Hope things improve for those still struggling to get a new GPU.
** ZOTAC GTX-1070 ** - sitting in a box, just in case I need it. I know I could sell it and it is unlikely that my RTX-3070 will die. But I still like to have a back up while the supply chains are so strained. If I knew I could buy a reasonable replacement, I would sell it. Then again -...
Sorry to hear - I had the LG Optimus G-Pro back years ago and it lasted almost five years, which is really good. I only upgraded because I wanted a newer version of Android at the time. I currently have a LG G7+ Thinq that has been a great phone for over three years. It came with Android 8.0...
I agree - I used to have two home computers, both in Fractal Define Mini cases, one case did not have drive bays and the other was an earlier model that did have two 5.25 external bays in front. The primary PC was the one w/o the bays and was considerably smaller and a cleaner build. These days...
My good old i7-7700K is 14nm process just like the new i7-11700K. With the i7-7700K running stable at 4.8 Ghz for almost four years I see no justification to invest in a new CPU at this time. I did have the i7-11700K in my NE cart, but pulled it out once I realized what I wouldn't be gaining.
That is EXACTLY what I thought when I got my Ebay invoice. I only sold one MSI RTX-3070 because I eventually got the one I really wanted, but I wish I had pursued cheaper alternatives to Ebay like FB Marketplace. Not sure I'd trust CL these days with a graphics card sale.
I had two Lian Li V600 mid towers back in the day - one was a silver performance system with Koolance water cooling, the other was black V600 that was a midrange family PC.
I ordered custom sized PCIe power cables from DreambigbyRayMOD who is on ETSY. The cables to my RTX-3070 were 750mm long and I only needed 1/5th of that (150mm). Cables arrived in less than two weeks and work perfect. Also ordered 180 degree adapters to allow the cables to run toward the back of...
When I picked up my EVGA VX3 Ultra RTX-3070 at my local Best Buy (after ordering from the 2/25 drop), the person getting my order off the shelf said "These things are like gold". I'm sure if someone bailed out on a pick up order someone in-house would likely jump on it, or at least notify one of...
I had two Lian Li V600 mini towers that were all aluminum w/ the slide in side panels. One was this silver gaming PC, the other was a black family PC. I was able to use electrical tape in areas that were non viewable to minimize rattle. With the tape it wasn't too irritating, but I do like my...
Reviewed the Newegg Shuffle - MSI 3060 = $509? I know how to avoid the disappointment notification this time. Not entering since I was only trying to help a friend.
Glad I snagged the EVGA XC3 Ultra RTX-3070 at MSRP on a BB drop last month. I'm turning off my phone alarms to check on Newegg/BB.
The EVGA power calculator came up with 567 watts for my PC (i7-7700K, RTX-3070, two M.2 SSDs). I went with a 700 watt Silverstone supply to be safe and allow for minor expansion if needed.
I made a point to avoid SATA SSD drives on my last build. It wasn't worth the difference in cost at the time (2017). It will be the same with my next full build later this Spring.
EVGA XC3 ULTRA from the 2/25 BB drop. Works great - I really don't need 700mm of PCIe power cables, more like 150mm. So I've ordered custom cables that should arrive soon.
Is it my imagination, or is the Newegg Shuffle getting worse as the weeks go on? More bundles and jacked prices. I'm 0 for 15 on the shuffle anyway.
Glad I lucked out on the BB drop on 2/25/2021 - Nothing like getting an RTX-3070 at MSRP.
Managed to migrate the components from the Fractal Define Mini C to the Cerberus. Only change to this PC is the EVGA XC Ultra RTX-3070, Silverstone SX700 PSU (SFX-L), and the Noctua CPU cooler (NH-U9S cromax.black).
Ha - These were the old 10base5 taps (thickwire) we used to use with Digital Equipment Corp back in the 80's (pre 10base2 thin wire and 10baseT). We used to run around with the vampire kit and drill into the cable.
