Does anyone know if this is possible by default? or if theres some program I could download to map these two keys to back and forward in the google chrome browser.
So I recently bought a Razer Deathadder mouse and I'm loving it, however I use the back button on the side of the mouse as my PTT on ventrilo. As you can imagine this gets a little annoying when browsing webpages because every time I want to talk it sends me back a page in firefox. I didn't see...
well today i had a power surge in my house. power just flickered off and came back on within 5 seconds. So i turn my computer on (which is plugged into a surge protector, btw) and after a long phase between the time i pressed the button and the post i get a BSOD as soon as windows loads. Tried...
Im running a C2D E7300 @ stock speeds w/ 4GB of RAM and for some strange reason whenever I load a new page in firefox CPU usage jumps way high. As I'm typing it usage is hovering between 3-5%. whenever I click a link to load a new page it will jump to 35-40%. is this normal? RAM usage is stable...

Ive always wondered what this program was all about so I read the wikipedia article on it today......but didnt have much success. I got that it works between applications. but hwat exactly is it doing to improve performance? Is this a necessity for all computers to have installed, or is this...
The CD said 64 bit.....Is there any way I can confirm this within the OS?
Just checked system info. Windows is recognizing it as a 32bit install....However It is showing all 4GB of my RAM. Wouldnt this not be possible with 32bit Vista?
RESOLVED: Called Gigabyte tech support and the agent said that I cant be running 1066mhz ram with an E7300. whether he was right or not, it solved my problem when I scaled the ram speed back to 800mhz
ahah. I may just have to do that....
couple questions though.....
What am I missing out on by using 32 bit apps instead of 64 bit ones? The main reason I chose 64 bit vista was so that i could use 4 gigs of RAM, however im totally clueless when it comes to 64 bit apps. what do they do better...
Running a C2D E7300 on a Gigabyte EP43-DS3L board. Vista runs fine (had some BSOD issues earlier which were solved by clocking back RAM from 1066 to 800mhz) but now whenever I try to install a 64 bit app it tells me my processor is incompatible.
I've tried Ventrilo 64 bit edition, IE7 64 bit...
installed all updates and the system will still BSOD with 4 gigs in during start up or shortly after.
Time to call Mobo/RAM tech support?
Is there anything in my BIOS i should be looking for?
Memtest passed on the 1 stick I did test it on. Before I was about to test the other stick I thought I'd give it a shot installing with 1 stick, and it completed. Now it's sending me in a loop
2GB are in the machine right now. I have another 2 GB stick but I removed it.
Removed one stick of RAM and it cleared the Expanding files stage, Installing Features, Installing Updates and Completing Installation phases. It then asks me to restart and it puts me right back into the same exact screen as if it didnt save any of the data it installed.
Right now im sitting...
Ok, so I booted it up and checked the BIOS. turns out that RAM voltage was set to 1.8v and the RAM is specced at 2.0.I changed it to 2.0. Could this have been the problem?
Windows is installing right now (expanding files ~25%, further than it's ever gotten before)
Hope this works...
C2D E7300 on a Gigabyte P43 board. WD HDD and GSKILL DDR2 1066 RAM
UPDATE: Tried to install one more time, but this time windows gave me the actual error instead of just BSODing. It told me something went wrong with the install process and that I need to restart my computer. Does this tell...
the board? the comp is totally stable when booting and sitting in the BIOS. how could the board be an issue?
Would downloading a Linux distro and trying to install that be a good idea? if it installs clean that would mean my hardware is ok, right?
Tried 3 times to install new copy of Vista on my new build. but it BSOD's each time during the Expanding files portion of the install (at different times too 1st attempt - 13%, 2nd 9%, 3rd 6%). Is this a problem with my copy of windows or could this be a hardware issue?
DVD Drive is IDE.

thats the mobo.
I havent built a PC in about 2 years, and all my new parts are coming in tomorrow. So i just had a few last minute questions to refresh my memory.
Jumper settings -- There are jumpers on the mobo and the HDD you have to mess with right? Should I even need to mess with them? (build only has...
OK im getting ready to order the parts.
One thing I'm kinda worried about is the size of the case and videocard. Will it fit in that Antec Sonata III? I know videocards are getting very very large these days.
Thank you!
A couple comments. I am by no means set on that Centurion case. I used to have one and it was pretty good but im willing to change. The antec looks good and it comes with a nice PSU which is an enormous plus.
as for the RAM. In the specs of my Mobo it says it requires 1066...
Price limit for this build was ~$600 before shipping. This came out to $570 before $50 MIR. Not bad I think. Sorry about the way I put this up. idk how to do all those links like other people usually do to post their builds.

I would think the Graphics card would be a step up, considering that the ATI is a 2 or 3 year old series. Anyway, I could always upgrade the videocard later.
Im on the last gen of iMac, it's about 2 years old (the acrylic all in one)
It's specs are as follows
2Ghz C2D processor
1GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
160GB HDD
ATI Radeon X1500 128mb Vcard
What I want to get is an HP with the following specs:
