I am selling my computer I used to use for gaming.
Included is everything except for speakers.
So Computer, LCD Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse are all included.
Computer has the following:
Intel Core 2 Duo e4300 Processor --Sold
1GB Patriot DDR2 667 RAM - $30 Shipped
ASUS P5N-E SLI...
though its an arcade... (or xbox360) i still like tetris the grandmaster and want more games like that...
tetris ds on level 20 infinite it too easy (darn you tetris company and your crappy easy spin)
I have some low-quality patriot ram in my computer with the bios auto on all the settings for the latencies on the ram (speed at 667) and it works just fine *shrugs*
oh on the p5n-e sli
With a setup similar to yours i was about to get 6395 in 3dmark06 ([email protected], GTS@630/1900)
With a e4300@3ghz and same clock on the GTS i got 10105
Went from a 3500+ (2.5ghz) single core to C2D e4300 (at 3ghz)
Can't tell you exact fps numbers or whatever you are looking for.
(i also don't really game... only play Second Life)
I can do alot more faster than I was able to so I find it a really good upgrade, don't know if just getting an...
He says he already re-installed windows though~ (at least thats what i got from his post 2 after my last one)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299340/
Shows how you can force a multi-processor HAL during install.
Could try changing the HAL from that menu in the control panel too, but I'm...
Yeah I am pretty sure they will cover the fan under warranty.
I've seem then do an RMA of a fan that was just loud but still worked, they are pretty nice if you are nice to them to begin with.
after updating from 201 to 401 or whatever you have to reset your bios via the jumper.
Otherwise i have no idea, both with 201 and 401 my e4300 was recognized properly.
upgrading to a e4300, 650i, and 667 ram would have cost you around $350 then adding a new video card to that would bring it up another hundred or so. Your current upgrade was roughly $250... so for another hundred you could have got a better motherboard, cpu, and ram in line with a better...
edited because i remembered at least the brands of the older cards
Cirrus Logic 1mb ISA video card
ATI Mach32 2mb VLB
Matrox Millenium G450 (i believe it was 16mb) pci
Creative Savage4 Pro 32mb pci
Nvidia GeForce 2 MX 32mb agp
Nvidia GeForce 3 Ti200 64mb agp
Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti4200...
i had a 3500+ with a 7900gs ko
it was alright, i wanted more.
I upgraded to a 8800GTS.
I could bairly disearn a difference in my games (dark messiah, second life, eq2, gothic 3)
Yes, i could pump up the AF and AA to insane levels, but still had some drops and stuff in games.
Upgraded to a...
another bad thing, which also comes as the comment of cartoonish stuff.
world of warcraft. it is one of the most popular PC games out to date.
It requires a TI84+ to run, blizzard is making alot of money off of it.
Other companies are seeing this and reducing the graphical standards of thier...
no idea, but from what i have read a bios update should fix it, but that could be tricky to do :p
but i believe that motherboard has a flasher utility as part of the cmos/bios/whatever so you should be able to do it there from like a floppy or usb drive.
16
the only time you will really see one with less is with budget boards like the asrock dual-vsta, and in some ecs ones i believe, or in some sli configurations where it goes x8x8 (like the 650i but the 680i has x16x16)
for the most part yes.
i do believe there are still some opengl extentions that only the 8800series has, but iirc there are only three.
so yes, need dx10 card, dx10 os, and dx10 game :)
Yeah in real world stuff depending on your resolution and stuff there won't be much difference. However in synthetic benchmarks going from a [email protected] to a e4300@3ghz gave me 4000 points in 3dmark06
Yeah. This was supposed to be a nice budget-minded upgrade from my old A64 3500+ I used to have. It suits me well, and I'm not looking for crazy better than everyone scores/fps/etc. The e4300 overclocked does alot more than I really need to be honest. It was a nice upgrade for sure :)
if you can wait just do that to see prices fall and stability issued fixed (on a few motherboards), and see what amd brings out... otherwise
i got my p5n-e sli, e4300, 1gb ddr667 ram for a bit less than $350
I think the reason you are just seeing alot of 3ghz is because its so easy to do. Just up the FSB to 333/1333 and don't have to really touch anything else, and you can run your cheap 667 ram 1:1
Okay. Maybe I am just being a dip here but I can't get my system to post at any fsb higher than 333/1333.
I have the northbridge at 1.3whatever v in bios, all the speedstepping stuff turned off... memory unlinked at 667. Memory also at auto or at what its rated at 5-5-5-15-30-2t (even though i...
Depending on what resolution you run at, you should be fine.
Also the 320 is more memory than what you have right now, since both cards have to be filled with the same exact stuff, so you only really have 256mb :) (if the 7800gt is a 256mb card, if they are 512s then ignore me )
Also right...
