Quoted from that page:
"It doesn't matter. Valve will, upon request via help.steampowered.com, issue a refund for any reason, if the request is made within fourteen days of purchase, and the title has been played for less than two hours. There...
I bought SimCity back in November when I had 9 days off and nothing to do. I have gotten over 200 hours of enjoyment out of it and I still play it. As I advanced and became better at understanding the underlying mechanics of the game, I was able to work around or within some of the quirks and...
The real problem is the programming. There used to be a huge amount of great programming on all the Discovery channels, Science channel, History channel, etc. Now it's all reality garbage. All the great channels sold out and let stupidity win. That's why we dropped it.
Let's pretend there were no issues whatsoever with DRM, offline/online, Origin or whatever.
The game still sucks! They should have called it SimVeryFuckingSmallAssLittleCrappyTownNeighborhood. For those of us who played SimCity while Will Wright was still the visionary, this will NEVER live...
Did you buy the Samsung LED display when you bought the other parts or is it leftover from a previous build? If it is new, then have you tried a different monitor with this build?
Are you installing anything other than the OS and drivers before you start testing? I wonder if your virus...
What is the exact purpose of the voltage regulator for your specific system?
I do agree that based on the information provided, your motherboard is most likely the problem.
Replace the whole system and be through with it.
Thanks for the help cisco guy. It turned out to be bad RAM slots. I cannot figure out how the board would even work in that case, but somehow the A bank was no good but B was OK.
The new board is here and all is well.
Oh brother. Well, I did not look at the socket. I only inspected the CPU and saw no pins. At this point, I am just going to wait for the new board to arrive and see what happens.
Again though, I cannot imagine that if a pin was bent on the socket or the CPU that it would work at all. It...
I have removed the HSF EVO from the CPU. I have inspected the CPU. There are no pins. It is not like the older processors with pins that can bend. I have not overtightened the back plate or the HSF EVO. I would never do that. No matter which memory chips I use, I can populate B1 and B2...
I read through that whole forum post. I was able to get to the BIOS by clearing the CMOS and only using 1 memory chip in the B2 memory slot. I am able to also run a second memory chip in the B1 slot. If I put any memory chips in either or both A1 and A2, the system will not POST and the DRAM...
My first attempts at booting the system was plugging into the video card's DVI port. I should at least see something on the screen when powered up. I see nothing. I even tried a different monitor. Even if I plug into the onboard DVI port, I should at least see something indicating POST...
The new system I bought is as follows:
Antec P280 case
Asus P8Z68-V Pro/GEN3 motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B
EVGA 560Ti 2GB video card
Intel 2500K CPU
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Corsair HX750 power supply
2 x Crucial M4...
I ordered an Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 motherboard from Newegg. It arrived today and the box had no plastic seal. When I opened the box, I saw that the motherboard was in a static bag, but the bag was not taped with that sticker you normally get. All the accessories are there, but it sort of...
Do any of you know of any motherboards with the Z68 chipset that have a dual-link DVI connector allowing a video resolution of 2560x1600 using Lucid's Virtu in an iGPU configuration?
Thank you for your immediate response. Now take a break from this and go drink some beer or something. I was expecting an answer in a day or two. All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy.
This is a quote from an HardOCP review of the Level 10 GT case:
"Next up, in the same spot, is the same system which now blocks the HDMI port. This may not affect every card depending on where the HDMI port is located but if you have any display connection at the very end of the bracket you...
I'm not exactly partial to nVidia as much as I am EVGA. Since they only offer nVidia, it's pretty much all the choice I have. Do you know of an AMD/ATI manufacturer that supports their hardware as well as EVGA? I'm certainly willing to entertain the idea.
The choice of the Zalman is me simply liking the look of it better than the CoolerMaster. Cost be damned! I'm a little older now and making a bit more, I deserve to splurge a little, within reason of course.
I would prefer to use the full potential of my monitor at 2560x1600 in all games...
Ok, I'll be pulling the trigger on this on Saturday, maybe Sunday. Here is what I have. Keep in mind, I am not real concerned with saving money more than I am with having everything run fast, stable, match up in color, and look pretty.
$289.99 - Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition...
Ok thanks a lot guys. I got the memory situation sorted out. I am going to step back from the SSD for now. I will just use my trusty old Kingston SSDNow for a little while longer until the issues get ironed out.
As for hard drives, I am really not looking to break any records with speed...

I can confirm it does NOT break GTA IV anymore. Also, some ActiveX content will not display properly unless you either turn off ActiveX filtering or leave it on and enable ActiveX content for each specific site.
Those were the only show-stoppers for me. Now that they're fixed, it's IE9 all...
