Hi, I am stumped as to why the follow command does not work.
echo hello | read name
I have tried the command on a couple different linux distro's and it does not save the word hello in the name variable. Odd thing is it doesn't return a error either, it returns the prompt which leads me...
Recently installed Windows Vista Ultimate on my computer....
Specs:
AMD 64 X2 Dual Core Proc 4400+
2GB of Ram
Nvidia 8800 GTX
It has an Asus a8n-32sli Deluxe motherboard with the onboard sound Realtek AC'97.
I am getting some weird static sound anytime I move the mouse or move...
It seems like neither Valve nor Nvidia cares, the only thing that has ever been posted about the issue is a single sentence within the driver release notes and its been in there for a couple months now. I could see if source was a old engine or what not but the Source engine is quite popular...
I upgraded from a 7800 to an 8800 mainly because I have the dell 30inch and its nice to be able to play at the native rez, 2560by1600 isn't the smoothest gaming without the latest hardware.
I gave up my main rig for around a week and was only able to use a laptop.... i went through some...
Ya its very well known... its in the driver release notes, its on maps with ambient fog stuff which is why italy dosen't show the fog issue, check out maps like dust 2 and others with fog/ambient dust etc. Its very obvious, and its really stupid that 2 months after release we still are dealing...
So whats the trick to getting these attached to the cables, they are the "snap" on variety..... but I gotta basically beat them on with a rubber mallet and a flat head screw driver heh, not really "snap" on but I was wondering if anyone has any tricks or tips for getting these on with less...
At first I was gonna post how you probably would not benefit from quad core, and there really is no future proof setup BUT after looking at all the stuff you are putting in your system.... you can get the Intel quad proc for not much more than what you are spending on that proc you have listed...
When I import a fraps avi that I compressed with VirtualDub and I also compressed the audio with the Lame MP3 codec within VirtualDub the audio isn't there when I am editing in Premiere Pro, like when I drop the clip to the timeline it has no audio track and when I preview the track in the...
For some reason when I run Fraps (recording) my fps drop way down, for example in cs:source I will be running at 60fps (locked at that fps b/c of vertical sync) whenever I enable fraps to record my fps drops to 15 and just sticks at 15fps no matter whats going on. I tried lowering my video...
Setup:
1 x 30inch Dell LCD (dual link dvi) monitor
and
1 x Nvidia (dual link dvi) videocard
With that setup am I only able to run the 1 monitor? or am I able to hook up a 2nd monitor (like an extra crt) to that video card?
From my understanding with dual link activated the card uses the...
Not quite sure what you are looking for, but in the control panel you can change how different resolutions are handled.
nvidia control panel > display > change flat panel scaling
Assuming you are running an lcd and trying to run at a non native resolution.
I am a tad stumped, the card seems to run fine but I keep getting this weird texture on some models in cs:source. It appears that they just nearly grey out completely as you back away from the models.
Here are some links to some screenshots.
Note: The boxes upclose they appear to be...
