I'm finding the same with drivepool, it will start at 5-10mb/s and then increase to around 60. I guess the slowest drive in your pool decreases the overall performance..?
I have pretty much done the same thing over the holidays, had a c2d e6400, win 7, running plex/hosting all my media and serving as a back up for data. The board went out and I decided to upgrade to an i3 4130 and utilize whs 2011 with drivepool and their scanner.
I pose this question to...
Yep, shell shocker today at the egg. (http://www.newegg.com/Special/ShellShocker.aspx?nm_mc=EMC-SD072013&cm_mmc=EMC-SD072013-_-SD070313)
$79.99 after MIR, so $99.99 out of pocket. It's showing $7.99 for shipping though, so if that's knocked down to "Free" it will be a stellar deal...
Nope, the router ticks along quite well, even on the stock firmware. I haven't had many issues out of it, just the range is a bit weak on the outskirts of the house.
Thanks, I appreciate the recommendation!
Looking at purchasing a new router, just moved into a new house and the signal coverage isn't where I want it to be with my current router (ASUS WL-500G Premium).
My thoughts are to either buy a unifi AP (std or LR) and disable the wireless on the router, or purchase a new router like the...
I am currently using:

But it's out of stock, seems like they have a new version that is in stock though:

Also comes in silver, so don't freak out...
I want my system to be more quiet. It's in my bedroom and the current HD is really loud. I know I could turn off the computer, but I watch tv while I sleep and sometimes I forget to set it to turn off. SSD is the simple solution :)
why not get the 500 gig XT drive for 10 bucks more? 2x the storage.
Never heard of hybrid drives though, pretty sweet for the storage/price/performance ratio
you know all 802.11 is backwards compatible right? So an N router will work with a G standard and so forth.
So, in other words, you don't need to upgrade your laptop network card for it to work the exact same way that it already is.
Check out the WD TV Live Plus
I know it covers 1 and 2, but I don't know about 3.
Looking at picking one up for myself, or building a sexy AMD e350 system. Decisions :/
Which is a pre-order with no release date.
But it's been "released".
Thanks for the link though, good to see that retailers are starting to offer them on their sites. Sign of some sort of hope.
Excuse me, I meant to buy the processor/mobo combo's that are coming out here soon, didn't mean the laptops.
Like the MSI E350IA-E45 and the Asus board.
How can something be released and not be available for purchasing?
I've been looking for days about any information to buying these things since they've been "released".
Haven't found anything in multiple countries..
I agree, I want this bad boy to power a nice quiet bedroom htpc
I'm also looking into this, under different circumstances though.
I've looked at all the boxes (WD Live/Zino/Patriot Black box (just examples)) and also saw: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1580291
The E350 from AMD looks very promising, the MSI board has already been released...
^~ I actually own that case for my pseudo HTPC.
And I managed to shove a full size GTX 275 in there and still keep the hard drive bay in (absolutely no modifications).
It's a winner in my eyes and gorgeous.
I recently got a lower end model of the vizio's. 37" 1080p from Target for Christmas, It had a dead pixel, took it back and got another one, it also had a dead pixel, 2 tv's, same problem. I don't think I'll be buying Vizio's anymore, much less from Target (since they didn't want to help me too...
