The 3820 is based on a native 4-core 1.27 billion transistor die. The 3960X is based on a native 8-core 2.27 billion transistor die but has 2 cores disabled for a total of 6 cores. Both have a max turbo speed of 3.9ghz. So why is the 3820 a 130w part?
