I am willing to buy a pair of matching 7970's. I don't care what brand. Reference design is preferred but not necessary. I would prefer that they be able to reach 1050mhz or higher, and must be able to reach 1ghz minimum.
I am offering $450 shipped for a pair. Heatware under novadaemon.

TigerDirect has the H70 core for $44.99 After a $20 MIR. I personally think it's a damn good price for that cooler.
Running IBT on my 3930k using ddr3 1600 ram @ Standard preset I get the following average numbers:
4 threads 112 gflops
6 threads 154 gflops
8 threads 154 gflops
12 threads 125 gflops
All 125 gflops
Auto 154 Gflops
The 6 thread number would be consistent with the numbers I should see...
Title and screenshot say it all.
My 2600k @ 4.5ghz is doing almost nothing yet usage is at 30-50%.
This is using Ripjawz Z 32gb 1600 10-10-10-24.
Anyone know what's up?
Hello,
My question is in the title, but I'll elaborate. I've got 2x crucial M4's in a Z68 motherboard using Intel's Sata III ports. I'd like to transfer the array to my X79 board. Is this possible and how can I go about doing this?
The 3820 is based on a native 4-core 1.27 billion transistor die.
The 3960X is based on a native 8-core 2.27 billion transistor die but has 2 cores disabled for a total of 6 cores.
Both have a max turbo speed of 3.9ghz.
So why is the 3820 a 130w part?

The only difference seems to be gpu clock and 192 fewer shaders.
What's your take on it?

Up for sale/trade is my Geforce GTX 480. It is OEM, but it is flashed with an EVGA SC Bios and Overclocked to 800/2000 stable. It can go higher but I kept it at a nice even number. I will remove dust from it when I pull it.

I purchased an Asrock H67M-GE motherboard from newegg as an open box item for a budget gaming build, but it didn't come with the backplate. I'm aware not all open box items come with accessories but does anyone know where I can buy a backplate that can fit that board? I know it isn't necessary...
This is fairly straightforward.

I know reviews are online but does anyone have their own personal experience with SSD caching on the Z68 so far? It's something I'm really interested in, but not a lot of personal testimony has come out yet.
Can someone explain to me why VLIW4 is better? When comparing my 5870 to a 6970 it doesn't seem like the new architecture is any better at all. Sure, you've got added texture units, but the increased power consumption and die space makes it seem like if a 5870/VLIW5 card were made to be that big...
If you were overclocking these CPU's, which would you use?
the 2100 can OC 4 bins higher to around 3.5ghz, but has a better overall architecture.
the 550 can OC to 4ghz+, but needs to reach a certain point to surpass the OC'd 2100.

I found that link to be pretty interesting. I already knew about a lot of the stuff there, but it's definitely a nice quick reference. Since it covers a lot of hardware I figured it could go here.
This is pretty simple. I own 16gb of G.Skill Value DDR3-1333 and 8gb of Ripjaws 1600. I don't do anything that would use all 16gb of ram yet, but I also don't think there's be a big advantage in having ddr3 1600 over 1333 in real use. What would you use if you were in my position?
8gb is 4x 2gb...
