Probably not the cause, as you may not have copied this verbatim from Mike, but whole numbers only, between 90-100.
Would also need to see more of the log... ***System*** section, and the part where fahcore 17 starts up...

Unfortunately, those 8P numbers from sfield are estimated. Last data on folding forum had bigadv scaling linearly to -smp 64 (i.e. almost 100%) and starts to drop off to to about 90% on a gentle curve up through smp -128 (depending on the WU, bigger...
As with the v6 client executable, running the V7 CLI as "fahclient --help" (2 dashes, also noted in the V7 install guide) will display all of the configuration options, even more than the commonly used list linked by Tim_H.
For your convenience...
Usage: fahclient [[--config] <filename>]...
V7 Linux Install Guide
Sections to note in the guide, terminal install option (with support for GUI, but not required), and the command line only install option. Just saying, when you're ready... ;)
Some kind of coincidence... your posting about p7611 getting such low points, then shortly after TJ changes the points for no apparent reason, and on a Sunday. :D Good feedback results in good improvements.
Are you going to give the V7 client another try?
Instead of making more silly wild @ss guesses and stirring up more unfounded animosity, why not just ask the PG researcher why that project is using the current settings?
Which is more likely? PG wanted to slap MP users in the face, or those other Projects got pulled back to beta...
Oh, is that how the most powerful folding team deals with a losing argument? Resorting to name calling? You guys stay classy! :D
Grandpa_01, please PM me if/when you get an answer from kasson. ;)
You will be asking the wrong question, and won't get an answer. Others have tried.
He did not "change" what he originally posted. He added to it, reinforcing what he already said. 6903/4s were benched too high (and your charts prove it, nor have you tried to deny what your charts are...
Kasson said what he said about 6903s/6904s. Kendrak, am I guessing blindly or not?
On another note, I did not see where PG said they benched on a 4P system as ChasR said, but then I don't have access to private conversations ChasR may or may not have had with kasson. The rest is...
You actually have to visit the folding forum and folding web site once in a while to get information from PG. They don't deliver to other forums. ;)
For example, here is where kasson from PG talked about 6903s/6904s thrashing the cache and getting over-benchmarked vs. the p8101 work...
Nailed those complex bonus program rules, except for one small correction. You do not need to get a new passkey to fold with a new user name. Just configure the client with the new name, and keep on going.
However, if you change your user name, you will need to requalify that user name with...
As before with the BA-8 QRB, the core count (real, virtual, hacked) doesn't really matter. Same applies to the new BA-16. Making the deadline is all that matters.
Not being a beta team member has rarely stopped an [H]'er from using any and all client flags (amoung other things) to manipulate their WU selections... ;)
:D
The size of the first test WU is only slightly larger than a 6901. So for now, you can have your cake and eat it too. But it cuts both ways...;)
Also, the BA-12s (6903/6904) haven't finished up yet, so you can keep folding those for a while as well.
Sorry, but your comment seems a little...
Explain? Really? Dual Hex, as in 2 x 6 = 12 real cores? Last I checked, 12 < 16, and this is the new BA-16 QRB program.
Because people didn't follow the Best Practices FAQ (as demonstrated earlier in this thread) when it came to following the core count minimum, now PG has changed to a...
They did change the deadlines (just not released yet, although you should read the beta forum today) and they did nerf the points to help curtail some issues. But if they took any more drastic steps, you'd have been at least as pissed off (likely more!) about doing something as not doing...
@hpglow, 7xxx will get a *healthy* boost, eventually, with the fahcore update. But best to wait and see how new fahcore and new Kepler ring out. But for once in a great while, a new GPU with a completely new architecture was supported by the existing fah client right out of the shute. Cause...
NO prob. Real fire, different cause. :D
It does seem like strange behavior, but it's anti-cheating points padding code. It prevents you from downloading a work unit, processing it to 95% completion, making a copy, and then deleting the WU. The server would then send the same work unit to the...
I've seen it happen before, with a couple posts in the FF about it. Check your previous days logs. The client likely downloaded that same work unit, failed part way through (that day the servers were goofed up?), and then retried folding the same work unit.
But the bonus is determined from...

Works under the current fahcore_16, but will need an optimized fahcore to take full advantage of the new hardware architecture.
PG has had servers in multiple locations for several years (not just recently). They don't have redundancies for all types of servers yet, but most of them. So fah didn't come to a complete stop a few weeks back. People were still getting work and getting points. However, FAH will never have...
You can pick which Stats page you want to view. For example, select the [H] option from the pull down menu, then click on your Team # link just to the left of the pull down. It will take you to the the Team Stats page for [H] at the [H] stats page. ;)
Only works for Team # link right now...
Client side benchmarking solves several problems, like improve WU matching to hardware specs. As others have noted, a fast 6 core box versus a slower 8 core box, and mabye the 6 core box should get a big WU, and the 8 core not.
Another thing client side benchmarking does is help to...
Busy work or not, is the improvement not worth your effort? (not that the hair messer-uppers would ever be detered by such trivial tasks) :p
PG wanting to do it is different than their ability and priority to do it. Donors have both the ability and the higher priority than PG.
Yes, TPF is...
I'm not familiar with the bitcoin performance profile. At most, 2 GPUs could be using up to 100% of two cpu threads, but not likely using that much. I also don't know what priority that application runs at.
Also not sure that raising the fahclient client priority setting would change...
I don't know the exact answer to that. I don't think there is a regularly scheduled meeting. Previous reps would have mentioned it already if there were.
At most, Vijay might "call a meeting" at a specific time, if there is an important topic that needs to be discussed due to time sensitive...
What are my responsibilities to the team?
Collect and prioritize the top concerns of the team, and communicate those to the DAB. Discuss with DAB. When a course of action becomes available for a concern, share that with the team.
Is this something with a set schedule?
Yes and no. The...
As mentioned, some fahcores roll the -smp 7 setting back to 6 cores, as those fahcores do not work well with an odd number of threads.
Some fahcores work just fine with -smp 7 and change nothing.
The thing not mentioned yet is that using -smp 7 in V7 will prevent the SMP slot from...
Vijay was not on the 3-fer going to H. But I'm sure there have been plenty more donations to H since 2008. So what if the hardware doesn't go directly to your fah efforts? You think those cards didn't promote H? Did bring in more potential folders to your forums? Give me a break.
Oh, but...
So it was okay for Jenseng Huang to donate 3 signed cards to HardOCP not that long ago? But now it's favoritism to give cards to other teams?
http://www.slizone.com/object/jensengx2.html
Or that the NV 590 you linked to isn't the first and only GPU that Vijay signed for a giveaway to...
Actually, you'd be surprised at how "sensitive" some people are. People have complained about me being insensitive. No, really. I think I'd fit right in over here.
My preference is for "harder" language, but it didn't happen. Nothing said by PG will deter the attempts of the people...
