A very interesting interview format with Todd Howard and Notch:

Did you think you would not witness this ? :)
Yes it's true, DNF goes gold and history is made!

Now, collecting heart rate or pupil dilation data, seems ok and if used correctly, it could indeed provide better feedback for players, in certain game scenes.
But when they've been in talks with companies that implant EEGs into people's skulls, that's border line "mad scientist" and whoever...
Another game to which no dedicated thread seems to exist. I'm fairly curious about it and recently Bethesda confirmed its release date: May 17th in the US and May 20th in Europe.
I was fairly surprised to see that it uses a modified id Tech 4 (Doom 3 engine), but it looks very good...
Didn't see a specific thread for Rage and I think this game warrants one, especially since there are new screenshots available:
http://bethblog.com/index.php/2011/01/26/rage-website-gets-a-makeover/
Looks great :)
The official Rage site, also got a make-over:

http://vr-zone.com/articles/rumour-amd-preparing-revision-for-hd-6950-6970-/10569.html
Which is rumored to end the possibility of unlocking HD 6950s to HD 6970s.
This will certainly also stop the need to saw off the power connector, seen on many HD 6900s at release :D
If true, according to analysts, this single order is already above the estimates for 2011 Tegra 2 sales...

GF114 based, 384 SPs, 256 bit memory interface, 180w TDP.
GPU @ 875 Mhz, Stream processors @ 1750 Mhz. Performance not very far from GTX 570.
Release supposed to be on January 20th 2011

Just read this and it's probably the best gaming news I've heard in years, with the exception of Rage, which I'm also highly anticipating.
Elder Scrolls games are by far one of my...
BSoN is at it again, now with revised specs, after Rys diagrams have been posted:

Let's see what the ones that often talk about "NVIDIA bribes" say now :)
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/15593/1/
Although this is not news for ATI. They've done this in the past, with their Valve deal.

Looks good! The atmosphere seems to follow what the previous games had, especially SoC. But they need to do something about the character models. They still look like characters from games from 10 years ago...I've been waiting to see improvements...
A big surprise...Wait and see it seems. But the major point right now, is that NVIDIA is not going to leave the chipset business, as "someone" likes to repeat. Must be really frustrating to be wrong almost every time :)...
That's a pretty big increase, in the same power envelope and die size, for a SoC:
http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/8/13/2nd-gen-nvidia-tegra-will-be-40025-faster-than-tegra-650!.aspx
Very interesting stuff about GPU architectures:

About id Tech 5 and the engine's flexibility, including the future use of CUDA, OpenCL and eventually what Larrabee will offer...
Seems that the antitrust regulator failed to record "potentially exculpatory" evidence from a witness in its investigation of Intel...

This doesn't seem to be over, as was expected anyway, considering the huge fine.
More rumors:
http://forum.donanimhaber.com/m_31456023/mpage_1/key_//tm.htm#31456023
This coupled with the 300mm2 sized chip, suggests that an awful amount of work had to be done to the RV770 architecture, in order to include DX11 features.
No word on transistor count yet.
More rumors and they say Redwood (RV870) is a 300mm2 chip
http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=7455220&postcount=1884
Cypress, the X2 card will have two of these chips.
That was fast. The spec was released yesterday and today NVIDIA already has beta drivers that support OpenGL 3.2:

Finally got back to making some game videos. Fallout 3 is the current choice and a full video based on the main game will be coming soon.
For now, this is based on the Pitt, the second DLC for the game:

NVIDIA kept Bill Dally under wraps of silence for a while, but he now emerged to say a few things, mostly about Intel:
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/04/09/hello-dally-nvidia-scientist-breaks-silence-criticizes-intel/
And here is an interesting interview with him aswell...
And the rumor mill continues, now with the release date set for September
http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news/2009/7/22/ati-to-launch-directx-11-gpus-in-seven-weeks.aspx
The Acer Aspire 5739G has a GT 240m @ 40 nm, DX10.1, 48 Stream Processors and should be equipped with 1 GB.
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/14766/1/
This is certainly one of design wins that was mentioned before.
Still no profits (loss of $330 million), though it was obviously better than the same period last year where they posted a whooping $1.2 billion loss.

As was hinted in a few videos floating on youtube, after the Computex show, Codemasters has AMD's support for DX11 and they should be using the Evergreen family for testing.

And the problems continue according to this analyst. It's really not looking good for TSMC in the second half of 2009, which means that high-end chips probably won't see the light of day this year. If...

G210 and GT 220. We heard about these before, but as GT218 and GT215 respectively. They will replace the 9400 and 9500. This sort of comes inline with what I said here...
http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/14468/1/
I'm wondering though...the original ION was based on the G92 chip, which has clusters with 16 Stream Processors each. However, NVIDIA just launched a few mobile chips, based on GT200 (Clusters with 24 Stream Processors each) with DX10.1 support...
I like the idea. Serious Sam First and Second Encounter, were extremely fun games to play, so a remake is a great idea. I wish a remake of AvP2 was in the works too :)
http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/59281
TSMC woes with 40nm continue. Extremely bad yields and so not ready for mass production. At this point, and if these rumors are true, I don't think we'll see any high-end DX11 chip this year.
