I looked around and saw that I was going to have to spend $900+ to get anything worth upgrading to. I decided to just go ahead and buy a laptop for the parental units. Dad's bday is coming soon anyway. I got them a 17R with i5-460M, 500GB, 4GB Ram for $478 shipped from Dell Outlet.
They are...
Thanks for the input guys. Was checking out graphic card benchmarks and saw that the GT 335M is actually a tier below my GTX 260M. :(
Anyone know of any comparable asus laptops? I'm willing to compromise on size if needed.
Don't really understand how the WEI works. My much older laptop (ASUS G51 gets a 5.9) is receiving much higher scores than newer laptops (M11X R2 gets 3.7) with updated gear. It seems like a bunch of bologna to me.
I currently have a Asus G51 laptop and looking to upgrade for no other reason other than the fact that parents' single laptop is severely outdated and slow. Wanted to give them mine and purchase an updated model for myself. I'm looking for the following:
- 14" or less
- GT 335M or above
- i5 or...
There's not really a clear statement on what may occur to a rooted stock NC. To my knowledge, one of two things will happen: a) you will receive the update just fine b) the OTA update will unroot your device and/or you may have to re-register your NC
If you rather not face the uncertainty...
The Nook will receive an OTA update for 2.2 this month so no hacking will be required for Froyo. I'm on CM7 Tablet Tweaks and it's awesome. Personally, not really interested in the update, but I know a lot of ppl prefer to stay stock.

After playing around with both the Nook Color and Ipad 2. I find the 7" form factor perfect for my needs. I thought it would be too small but it's actually perfect for portability.
For anyone interested in more on info on Nook Color, here are your 2 start points:

I LOVE my Nook Color. It will hold you over until something more significant comes out for HC. I got mine for $207 on ebay last week. Easy to root and many custom ROMs. A fine device indeed.
I think the HTC View 4G tablet is promising and will be coming from Spint around June-ish. Comes with a stylus for note taking. I would pick one up but I'm already planning on buying the EVO 3D and I have nook color rooted as my tablet.

Ashton, good point. I take it you're on SERO-premium. I just would rather not see my phone bill go up 66% (paying 30 now) every month on top of whatever I would be paying for the phone. Just exercising some self control in fulfilling my material luxuries. Happy with CM7 on my hack of a phone for...
I have CM7 running on my 4.5 year old Touch Vogue and it's awesome. All thanks to the XDA community! It runs smooth, looks slick, and battery life is really good! I would have bought a new phone a long time ago but this SERO plan is just too good to give up.
Thanks, webdes03. You've convinced me. I looking into buying a my own internet service. My work involves accessing CRM databases for a number of very large financial and tech organizations and a breach of security would mean my job and most likely some type of legal action. The risk is just not...
Thanks for the response, webdes03. I'm looking into the DAP-1522. You're right that I should thinking about the security implications of joining a shared network and I'm paranoid about that because of the type of data I manage, even with the VPN in mind.
I was thinking that I could buy a...
Nevermind found my answer in the feedback section in Newegg. Thank you guys!!
"Pros: Very easy to use. All I needed to do was connect this to a laptop via CAT5 cable, then change the settings to match the router. Works with Blu-ray player, Directv DVR, or XBOX 360.
Cons: Hey Netgear, you need...
Thanks, bros.
If anyone has experience with this type of advice... I'm curious as to how the device would access the password protected wifi network. Would I first have to connect my laptop to configure the network password for access and then connect it to the phone?
Hey Guys,I'm about to move to a new condo and I can get free wifi access through the complex. I need to use a company issued IP phone at home for work. I have it connected directly into my router and I think the phone requires an ethernet jack to work. Can someone tell my options outside of...
On a Sprint Touch Vogue... on WinMo I used about 15MB/mo. when I flashed the rom to Froyo I jumped up straight up 290MB. I imagine it would be much higher with new gen smartphone.
Sup man! Good to see it arrived! I put my pre-order in on newegg early today, but like you said in the other thread, I'm not sure how valid that puchase will be given that it was sold out everywhere else for a while. I just checked newegg today and they are no longer taking pre-orders for it...
Damn, I was about to put some bills down on that bad boy. That thing sold quickkkk!! I love the concept and really hope the obvious demand spawns more development for future availability soon.
I wonder how many models were made available to the states?
